Who Am I?

Nadia POV

My brain was almost blank; I couldn't figure out what my name is or how I even came about here. However the demeanor of the man standing beside me, showed he wasn't an evil person.

"You can't remember your name?" He asked.

"Yes. I don't know who I am." I watched him walk up to the lamp and reduce it's brightness. "Please how did I get here? Who are you? What is this place?" Several questions flying around and while I hoped that answers would be given, I began to wonder if I could grasp the things he was going to say."

"You were laying unconscious beside a river and I had picked you up, seeing you were much alive." I tried remembering the scene he had just said in my head, but it was totally blank.

"Who are you?" He smiled and sat down beside my bed, his eyes not leaving mine.

"My name is Dante and I happen to hunt down Werewolves." While the last statement seemed to be familiar, I couldn't get a perfect pictorial excerpt of the statement.

"What are Werewolves?" He raised his eye brow and it made me lower my head down.

"They are creatures of unfathomable strength. They lose great risk to us who are the humans and this is why I have chosen to hunt them down." Neither of his statement made sense to me, a that mattered at this point was getting to know who I truly was.

"Consider we can't get a name for you, how about I call you one?" There was no doubt about it, I needed a name to be called and having no memory of my previous name irked me alot.

"Lilith should be fine?" I found the name quite amazing.

"Thank you very much." He nodded and got up to his feet. He stretched his hands forward and I took it.

"Let's get you outside so you can see what's going on." He indicated, and i forcefully pulled myself out of the bed. Once outside the hut, it was entirely dark, the stars were out shining bright and the moon rays were unfazed by the darkness.

"This is our hut and as hunters, our duty is to protect our city from the ravaging beasts." He had a slight tone of annoyance in his words.

"Do you think I may be Werewolf?" I asked and for a moment, he turned and stared at me for a long time, eyes not looking away from each other.

"You are no wolf Lilith. I believe it would have shown the moment I had picked you up from the riverside. Whoever had been after you, is most likely a Werewolf and apparently you seem to have been running away from them." His statement didn't sum up in my head owing to the fact that it was blank.

"Anyways, that's enough seeing for the night. You should get enough sleep, by dawn I would introduce you to the rest of the crew." I nodded and he helped me back into the hut. I felt sleepy indeed and right before my eyes could shut down, I heard a silent whisper.

"Good night Lillth."

**

Day came faster than I have ever imagined. Rising up from the bed, I noticed the lamp had gone out. Dante had picked his gun out of the room; the same guns that made me scared of him. I knew at some point, I was going to remember who I was. However, I made a resolution to stay with him for the main time.

The door suddenly opened and this time, I could have a proper look at Dante. He was a fine young man and was slightly built. His steps was precise and he had this aura that screamed confidence.

"Good morning Lillith." He said with a smile. "I am presuming the night was amazing for you?" He said dropping his gun back to the spot I had met it.

"Didn't had much sleep. I am still trying to know my name and where I came from." I admitted honestly to him.

"You don't need to be worried about any of these things." He stepped closer to meet me, extending his hands for me to take.

"Come now, my group wants to meet with you." I was well aware he had informed me about belonging to a hunting group. While I was anxious about meeting them, I had high hopes they would be welcoming like Dante.

Once we were outside the hut, I noticed a group of men all gathered in the same spot, each holding similar guns I had seen in the hands of Dante.

"Everyone, I would like you to meet Lillith." Dante indicated.

"Lillth? I thought she never had a name because she lost her memory?" One of the men, who seemed to have a terrifying appearance indicated. From his demeanor, I knew we wouldn't be getting along anytime soon.

"Yes. We decided it was best we give her Lillith." I looked at Dante, who had a smile on her face.

"And you say she is human?" The sane terrifying man asked yet again.

"Collins, I understand that you don't like her being here, but you don't have to question her existence. She is human and it's quite obvious." The supposed Collins had a deep stare at me for a second and turned around to the rest of the men.

"Everyone here is aware of the importance of our task. We are hunters and so many of our men have died in the hands of those bloody savages. I told Dante last night that taking Lillith in would be a huge responsibility and as a group, I believe we all can decide on whether or not she stays with us or not."

Men like Collins had a huge Ego and it was apparent from his structure and further it appeared that he was the leader of the crew as well.

"I have a suggestion..." Collins had a smirk on his face. "How about we use the Wolf bane on her. If she is human, then she lives. If she is a Werewolf, she doesn't."
