CHAPTER 6

JANEAH woke up because she felt something heavy embracing her. She slowly opened her eyes. Her eyes adjusted and she can only see dark because of the heavy curtains closing the windows and the lights are off. She felt a heavy breathing down her neck, she tried to reach it and she touched a furry thing.

A furry thing? A cat? A hair?’ she thought.

Janeah’s eyes widen because of the realization that she doesn’t have a cat or any kind of pet. Janeah reached the side table to open the lampshade. Her eyes adjusted from the blurry vision because of the sudden light. Her eyes widened when she saw a man hugging her and his head buried into her neck. She wants to scream but she is forced to stop herself because she knows that this man is her so called husband and this man is tired of work because she heard from the maids that he encountered problems with his business out of the country. And yelling won’t help her for Christ's sake her room is soundproof. So even though she will yell till her lungs are sore no one will hear her, she will only waste her strength and voice. And this man is her husband so there is nothing wrong with him burying his face into her neck.

Janeah sighed and raised her hand to gently stroke his hair. She heard him groan in pleasure. His hair is so soft and addicting to touch. Janeah reached her arm to the lampshade to turn it off. She felt sleepy again so she closed her eyes and continued stroking his hair until she fell asleep again.

JANEAH woke up alone in her bed. She tried looking for her husband around the room with her eyes but she wasn’t able to find him. Janeah sighed before getting up. She went inside the bathroom to do her morning rituals which are her taking a bath and her skincare routine.

Janeah suddenly stopped walking out of her dresser room she was holding a wiping towel to dry her hair when she heard a knock on the door and the door of her room creaked open showing her the view of the two maids. The two maids mowed their heads before entering her room.

Good morning my lady,” both of the maids uttered in unison before taking a fifty degree bow in front of her. Janeah rolled her eyes because of what they did. She’s been telling them to stop treating her like a royalty, she’s just a mere human.

Master requested for your presence to join him at the diner for breakfast, my lady.” one of the maids uttered with their head still bowed down.

“He requested for my presence? He’s still here? “Doesn’t he have work to attend to? It’s already nine in the morning.” Janeah thought.

Tell him I won’t eat,” Janeah said before walking out the door. The two maids followed her in an instant. She stopped and faced them.

Don’t follow me,” Janeah said before running down the stairs to the garden for them to not follow her. When she reached the garden she sat in the hammock near the bird's actual house size cage.

I’VE been hiding from him and avoiding him since yesterday. I do not know how to face him. I’m not mad at him because I know he only paid Green but still, I don’t have enough strength to face him. I want to go out. I miss shooting, modeling, and endorsing. I want to talk to Green, he’s my manager after all.

It’s relaxing to hear the tweeting of the birds. It’s like a piece of music to my ears. A warm arm enveloped me from behind my back. I can feel his warm breath on my neck.

What are you doing here? Hmmm?” a warm baritone voice asked.

I want to be alone,” I said while trying to loosen his grip on me. I am trying my best to free myself from his arms but he has a strong grip.

Let’s talk. Follow me.” He said then he kissed my neck before removing his warm arm that has been enveloped from behind my back.

I heard him sighed before walking away. I stared at his back before following him inside the house. “What are we going to talk about? Does it have something to do with our marriage? Of course it does Janeah, how stupid you are?

Many questions are circulating my mind right now while I’m tailing him inside. The maids and security guards are bowing everytime they see us walking.

We walked up the stairs. I saw him walking straight to my room. He opened the door and guided me in. I saw him nodded to the guards that were following us before he entered and closed the door, he even locked it.

This will be a long day.” I whispered to myself before sitting on the bed.
