CHAPTER 3

JANEAH woke up with the smell of the hospital welcoming her. She adjusted her eyes because everything she sees is blurry. When her vision adjusted she saw where she was, full white and a bit of green colored room. She saw Green sleeping while sitting on his left side and he was holding her hands. She touched his cheeks and caressed them. 

Seeing Green made her eyes teared up again. She tilted her head away facing to her right to remove her gaze from Green. She saw a digital wall clock and it was already three in the afternoon. She toured her eyes inside the room. The room is spacious; it can pass as a hotel room. She saw a sixty five inches television in front of her. There’s a two long sofa bed and four single seat sofas. There’s a kitchen on her side and a door. A door towards the bathroom.

Janeah has been thinking about what will happen to her after she leaves the hospital. Today she is supposed to be moving to her husbands' house.

A doctor entered the room and she smiled when she saw that she was awake. Janeah forced herself to be seated making sure that Green wouldn't be awake. 

“Good afternoon Ms. Stanila.” The doctor greeted her while smiling. She smiled and nodded as a response.

“I’m Doctor Alfonso.” She introduced herself.

“Who brought me here?” Janeah asked.

“A man who almost hit you at the highway brought you here because you fainted and he saw you look like sh*t.” Dr. Alfonso said. Janeah didn’t speak for a while.

“How do you feel?” Dr. Alfonso asked.

Janeah cleared her throat before answering.

“My head hurts a little and I feel a little light headed. What happened to me?” She asked. The doctor smiled.

“Your situation was not that severe. You overused your energy. There are too many cuts or wounds on your feet. You just need to rest for a week. I suggest you should take two weeks to leave in modeling for you to rest properly. You’re a star Ms. Stanila but you should not push yourself to your limit. I advise you to not walk too much for the fast recovery of your wounds. I’ll take my leave now, please take your rest.” Dr. Alfonso said then she bowed and left.

Janeah took a deep breath and looked at Green. Janeah felt hungry but she couldn't find anything to eat. She decided to sleep again to brush her hunger away. Janeah removed Green's hands from hers. She faced her back on him when she lay down.

Tears started falling into her cheeks. She knows that after this she will be sent to her new house. A place she has never seen, a place that she will call her new home. Janeah falls asleep again because she’s been crying for hours. 

GREEN has been staring at Janeah who’s been sleeping. He’s livid about what would happen to his father after what he has done. He sent his father somewhere to hide because he knows that if the media would know about what happened his father would be in danger. And he wouldn’t let his father be a shame because it would be the end of their family and his dream. 

“I’ll make sure you will shut your mouth babe. I won’t let you destroy our plan,” he said while caressing her cheeks.

Janeah felt his touch causing her to wake up. She slowly opened her eyes and she saw Green looking at her intently. 

“Green,” she said with a hint of a crack in her voice.  Tears started falling into her tears remembering what happened to her. She can see in her mind the flashes of fresh memories of what happened to her. Green was just looking at her intently. 

“Uncle Adan…” she said and her voice croaked. “Uncle Adan tried to… tried to rape me,” she said in between her sobs. She didn’t see any hint of emotion in Green’s eyes but she saw how his jaw tightened. 

“Stop with your lies.” He said with a low voice. Janeah’s eyes widened because of what he said and she is not expecting it to come from him. She slapped him hard. Her tears immediately stopped flowing and she felt livid because of what she had heard. It’s not how she expected him to act. She thought he would be mad because of what his father had done to her but no he called her a liar. He didn’t say it directly but she knows it’s what he is pointing out because of what he has said. Fury is building up inside her. 

“Your father harassed me! I am not lying! He almost raped me!” She shouted at him while looking into his eyes but he removed his gaze from her. He remained silent for so long and she’s been crying those times. 

She looked at him when he stood up. He stared at her for almost a minute then he sighed and turned his back from her. He began to walk away. When he was at the door he stopped but he didn’t face her.

“Forget about what happened. Don’t let other people know about this or else…” He stopped, then held the doorknob and he opened the door and stepped out.

“Get ready they are coming to fetch you. Don’t even try to escape.” He said before closing the door. 

Tears began to fall again from her eyes. She yelled because of frustration and pain. She can’t believe what just happened. 

“He didn’t believe me. He called me a liar.” She thought. 

“Why is this happening to me?! Why?! Am I that bad to let myself suffer like this?! Why are you punishing me like this?! God why are you doing this to me?! WHY?!” she cried before burying her face into her hands to suppress her sobs.
