The restaurant was well-decorated and elegant in an old-fashioned way. Kaia silently thought while she handed her coat over and informed the polite hostess that she was there to meet Eton Domino. The woman smiled before leading her to a table in the secluded corner of the restaurant. And surprisingly, he was already seated at the table, his body language relaxed, almost bored. The pictures didn’t do him justice, Kaia thought. They failed to capture the intensity of his presence, and those eyes were actually more unsettling in person. It took every bit of her self-control not to blush and fidget as the guy studied her coolly. “Good evening. Eton Domino watched the taxi in front of his car. It was running steadily meaning that woman was atleast knew what's good for her. At first when he saw her, he thought he's just dreaming. It's been a week, and any last remnants of Kaia's optimism were extinguished by the hunger gnawing at her insides. After all, her daily ration only consist of one slice of hard bread and a small bottle of water. She felt very tired and weak, and sometimes she also feel dizzy. In all her life she had never known true hunger, not until now. Kaia knew that if she didn’t have low blood sugar, it probably would have been nowhere as bad, but it was a small comfort when hunger kept her awake at night, curling up on the narrow bed, the only piece of furniture in the room she was kept in. The worst part was how some of the guards liked to torture her by eating all kinds of delicious-smelling food in front of her, laughing when she stared at them with hungry eyes and drooling mouth. Thankfully though, that's the only abuse they're giving her. Because in most cases she knew that a woman like her can experience much worse. Their boss hadn’t made an appearance yet. Eton Domino strode away from the captive’s room, his mood darker than ever.The maid he met on the way to his office took one look at him, paled, and ducked her head, as if hoping he wouldn’t notice her. The first hour had gone by and Kaia's still okay. Her stomach was full, the room was warm, and she even had something like a plan. She was relieved and a bit surprised by the punishment Eton had chosen for her. She had expected worse. At first, Kaia had been a little apprehensive when she devised the plan and worried to get caught in the act, but it all went without any problems. Eton had bought it. Now that the guy was assured of his own superiority and cleverness, assured that he could see right through her, it would be easier to soften him up and lure him into a false sense of security. Kaia felt a pang of shame before reminding herself not to be silly. Eton Domino was a criminal. Men like him deserved nothing less. Besides, it wasn’t like she was planning to kill the guy or something. She just wanted to save herself. She just wanted to go home. That was all.
