But Eton did something unexpectedly. He let go of her and stepped away.

Deflating, Kaia watched numbly as Eton strode out of the room. And the door locked after him with an audible click.

Kaia plopped back on Eton's bed and groaned in frustration, touching her tingling lips.

“You’re such an idiot, Kaia. Why are you expecting something you shouldn't have?" she said aloud before laughing.

It was either that or she would started crying.

“I told you to stay out of this room,” Vlad said when he brought her food.

Kaia took the tray and ignored his words. In the past six days since Eton had left, she had perfected the art of ignoring the man's head of security. It wasn’t difficult.
