Chapter 0006

We came to a stop when he turned back to me before my eyes went from him to a sleek black Mercedes sitting by the curb with a flat tire on the front passenger side.

'At least we know he isn't lying, Ellie'

'Shut up, not like I could tell him my actual name, then I midaswell just hand myself over and say "Hi, it's me, Livvy, daughter of Beta Jase Gilbert, rejected Luna of the Blue Moon pack by their dipshit Alpha Heir Timothy Ryder.'

'Okay, I get it, but damn, I hate our name now.'

'You mean, my name? Yours didn't change because mine did, plus we've had this name for five years now and you haven't complained before, it's for me to remember him.'

'I know, sorry, just always sounds off is all.'

'On a side note, who takes a car like this camping?'

I felt a chuckle in my mind as Shayna laughed a bit but I knew what she meant. I actually missed hearing my name be called, it's been such a long time since I've heard it from anyone besides Shayna.

"Umm, are you okay Ellie?"

I snapped my eyes to him to see him staring at me awkwardly. My heart began pounding as I tried to breathe evenly to calm it back down, something my father taught me, "Never show when you are nervous, breathe through it my girl, show no weakness to men."

Thankfully it stuck with me and I did as he taught me, always, even when my heart was destroyed by my own fated mate. Now I'm standing here in front of a warrior that I once had known, before he took his position in the pack he was from, by now that jerk has to be the Alpha, probably took that bitch Lexi as his Luna.

"Sorry, the rain keeps hitting my eyes, do you have a jack? It's going to be a pain but we can definitely get this changed for you. Although, I mean, you could hang out at the diner until the rain stops if you wanted instead."

"Will you be there too?"

His question caught me off guard as I tilted my head to look at him when I saw a streak of lightning light up the sky behind him before the thunder cracked again as the rain began getting heavier again.

"I could be, for like another forty-five minutes, but I have a second job I will need to get to this evening so I need to get home to get some rest.

But seriously, this weather isn't stopping, maybe I can show you to the hotel around the corner for you to stay at, I'll just call Kayla and let her know I'm definitely done for the day."

"Yeah, there's no way we can do this now, thank you. I am very thankful for all your help."

He yelled as he stepped closer to me so we could hear one another better. I nodded before motioning for the direction we needed to go in. The hotel was just around the block and I'm only one more block from there so it's basically on my way home anyway. Good thing I grabbed my keys and phone before I left.

Didn't exactly make any tips today so no need to worry about that as we walked down the street through the heavy rain when the wind picked up a bit blowing his umbrella back making him grunt as he tried to steady it back over himself before it took off from his hand, flying back out of reach.

He stood there in shock for a minute before I just broke down laughing, then he did as well.

"Hurry, it's just there!"

I pointed to the hotel that was only a few more feet away from us, we ran to the entrance when the door opened, the cold air slapping into us making me shiver yet he stood there like it didn't affect him at all.

"Come in, from the rain, my goodness you both are soaked."

Said a man dressed as a bellhop as he ran to us holding towels then handing them to us. I turned to Byron when I held my towel out to him.

"You need it."

"No, you do, I still have to go back out there, remember. I'm sorry I couldn't help with your car though, I hope this weather fades soon so you can get that taken care of.

It was nice to meet you, Byron Chase."

I turned to head back out the door, hoping the backup generator at my building was on like the one here was when his hand wrapped around my wrist as he turned me back to face him. His eyes were caramel coloured as they swirled with gold showing me his wolf. They were breathtaking, even Shayna was mesmerised by them considering we hadn't seen another wolf in so many years.
