Chapter 0009

He took another deep breath before closing his eyes, opening them again to show his caramel coloured eyes again. I sighed as my body relaxed.

"Sorry, I'd never, you know that right?"

"I hope you wouldn't be that stupid considering what my bite could do to you, which I wouldn't be able to hold back if you made that kind of move on me.

Seriously though, what the hell happened?"

"My dad"

My eyes went wide as he looked down at his lap for a moment. Jacob's dad is bad news, he ran from him years ago when Andy and him found out that they were fated together. It's different for vampires than it is us, but the higher ranks can find a true mate and mostly stick to just them, of course they all sleep with others they feed off of.

Unlike werewolves, when we find our mates, most of the time we stay loyal to them, unless we reject one another to break the bond, feelings sometimes remain but for the most part when the bond is severed, you no longer have those strong feelings for that person any longer.

When a wolf cheats on their mate, or sleeps with another, they can feel betrayal, it physically causes them excruciating pain, even just a kiss can break you or bring you down to your knees in pain, something I will never forget.

I have never been with anyone, 23 years old and I'm a virgin, afraid of ever feeling the pain I felt when he kissed her, when she put her hands on him, the agonising pain of that rejection to the person that was supposed to love me unconditionally with his whole heart. I'd never felt so immobilised before that moment, no matter the things I had dealt with over the years, that day, that moment, ripped my soul in half.

I won't go through that again, not even for a second chance mate.

Looking at Jacob, my worry for him, for Andy, was high. His father was a King, a Vampire King that wanted his son to be as ruthless as he was and succeed him when he was old enough, but instead he ran away with Andy, another vampire that was from a hated rival of Jacob's father.

They knew they would never be allowed to be together so instead of rejections, they ran away together, hiding amongst humans that weren't slaves to anyone but themselves.

When we first met they were afraid of me, I was afraid of them as well, vampires and werewolves don't exactly get along. But we do, they know what I am, but not who because of my fear of anyone knowing. I have my descenters thanks to them, Andy gets them for me so that I won't be found unless I choose to be.

My nerves were getting the best of me as my thoughts started running rampant in my mind when Shayna's voice broke through to me.

'Calm yourself down Livvy, you got me on edge, I'm pushing hard not to shift, relax your breathing, I don't sense anything to be fearful of.'

Taking some deep cleansing breaths I looked at Jacob who looked worried. His body was giving off a nervous aura as he sat there with his lips in a tight line before I turned slightly in the seat to face him as a crack of thunder rumbled around us making him jump.

"Okay, okay.. I'm calm now, please explain to me what this means now, does Andy know? Are you two in trouble now? Why did he beat you?"

"My father found me a few months back, we had an argument today after Andy left the apartment, he showed up demanding that I go back home, that I was needed because of the place I held at home."

"Damn, Jacob.."

"I know... But Andy.."

"He doesn't know, right?"

"Right, how can I tell him? I mean really? He will want to pack up and run again, which honestly, we probably should, but he's actually happy here, we've lasted here longer than anywhere else before. I don't know where we could go now."

"Stay with me, it's small I know, but stay with me, both of you, we can make it work and you will be safe there."

"You would do that? For us, when you haven't ever even trusted us enough to tell us who you truly are?"
