Chapter 0010

My eyes went wide when he said that, I always knew they knew I wasn't really Ellie, but they never once pushed for me to tell them the truth, they just trusted me, so now it's time to do the same with them. I took a deep breath, closed my eyes and spoke.

"My name is Livvy, Livvy Gilbert, daughter of Beta Jase Gilbert of the Blue Moon Pack. I was supposed to take over as the next Beta unless I found out I was mated to someone of the same rank from a different pack or an Alpha, to where I would be named their Luna."

I sighed deeply before opening my eyes. I hadn't told anyone that I was mated to him, not to our Alpha. I'm sure everyone knows, or most, whether it was believed or not was a different story though.

"I found my mate at midnight on my eighteenth birthday, he was kissing another as I felt the pain rip through me. He knew we were mated for two years yet he pranced around with another in front of me while treating me like I wasn't worthy of my place in the pack.

My mate is Alpha Heir Timothy Ryder of my own pack, when I didn't accept him he rejected me, I accepted and then I ran. I found this place, it was all I needed so I stayed."

"So that's why you stay at the diner then, isn't it. Old man took you in and helped you get on your feet."

"Yeah, I had money with me, but it wouldn't last without a job and he didn't hesitate to help me out. I found my little apartment loft, paid for it with what I had on me then started working to keep what I had while making this place my new home."

"Well you have done really well for yourself. He never looked for you?"

I paused as I stared out the window, trees moving past us as we drove to the club, the rain was still pretty bad but the drive wasn't too bad thankfully. I'm not even sure when we left the front of my building, but I also knew he wouldn't let us be late to get to work.

"I don't know actually. When I left, I cut all ties with everyone, I didn't want to be found, but..."

I trailed off as my mind drifted to think about Byron, him being here, out of all places, no wolf has set foot here in the last five years until today, still a bit strange to me.

"But?"

I snapped out of my thoughts.

"So today at the diner, when the rain was even worse, all the power was out and a man ran into the diner for shelter because he got a flat tire just down the street but everywhere else was closed until coming to the diner's door. He is a wolf, actually he is a warrior for a pack. I don't know why he is here, but I am a bit worried about it."

"Well stick with us, I won't let him near you if you don't want to."

"What about you Jacob, your place? We are both a bit stuck at the moment."

"I'll tell Andy, tonight..."

"I can help you know, we can tell him everything, about both things tonight, then you two come home with me and we can go from there."

"My father isn't going to just give up, me being his only son, he is crazy adamant about me coming back to take my rightful place in our ranks. Andy is going to know this, it isn't going to sit well with him, or the fact that I have been hiding this from him for so long."

We both took a deep breath as we pulled up to the club. It was dark and raining still, lightning lighting up the sky as we looked at the building in front of us when a sleek black Mercedes pulled up right next to us making my heart leap into my throat.
