Myra’s POV
“Signs,” I tried to stand from the couch but it seems that my waist is on fire, and my protruding tummy seems to be getting bigger.
An idea pops into my head when my eyes land on my phone which has wallpaper of my husband Damien, and me. It was taken on our wedding day. I kept staring at the picture and it seemed just like yesterday as we walked down the aisle. Everything seems so perfect…
Thirty minutes later I’m driving to Damien’s office dressed in a white-flowered short preggy dress.
I remember Damien once told me he didn’t like surprises and surprise visits to the office, but this was different, I was going to finally tell him the baby’s gender. This is something he has waited patiently for six months to hear, smiled sheepishly imagining his reaction when I disclosed the gender of the little human that we created together…
Memories of the night that resulted in my Lil bump came playing how gentle, sweet and romantic he was on that cold night. The honking of horns jolted me to reality and l decided to stop in one of his favorite restaurants to get him lunch. I knew with the kind of busy schedule Damien has, he mostly skips lunch.
I got to the office of Graham Group and alighted from the car and gave the keys to the company's valet to do this work and gently made my way to the elevator.
I can’t wait to see his handsome face when he opens the door and finds me standing at his front door or when I tell him about the baby’s gender to my surprise the door was slightly open, and seeing Damien’s angry look got me worried.
Stepping into his office and I whispered his name in a quiet but sweet tone, he seemed not to notice my presence but was focused on the mail he was reading that made his face appear cold. He looked up noticing my presence and tried to hide his worries by flashing a stilted smile.
Looking at the time clock beside his table and it was already past noon, I quickly offered him his lunch while he was at it, I gently made my way to the couch and he asked in a strict voice.
“I told you I don’t like surprises why didn’t you call before coming, or at least inform my secretary, Mr. Jack,” I opened my mouth to notify him of my purpose of coming but he shut me up by asking me to leave and go home and wait for him.
I stood up and made my way to his table to at least give him a tap kiss but he stopped me mid-way by asking me to leave immediately. His words were hurtful and at that moment I regretted my decision.
I released a breath I didn’t know I was holding. My eyes brim with tears ready to flow, I spark around and run out of the office…
“S**t!” Damien cursed as he ran towards me.
“ Myra, please! Listen to me I can explain,” he said with some traces of hurt and anger in his voice.
“There is nothing to explain Damien, go back and complete whatever work you were doing,” I snapped at him with some new energy I didn’t know I still had left in me.
I ran outside before he could utter a word and entered the elevator leaving him behind.
Immediately I got inside the car I allowed the tears to flow and sobbed like a baby. Looking at the scan picture I wanted to show him made me burst into another round of tears, it hurts so much.
How could he treat me with so much hate, I regretted my actions, blaming myself for going against his rules, heaving out a loud sign. I turned on the ignition and drove off with Frank Ocean music thinking about you, playing and I sang along…
The buzzing of my phone jolted me back to reality and I turned down the volume of the music while connecting the call to my ear pod.
The soft feminine voice from the other end made me smile “Hello Mrs. Graham I’m calling from Catherine hospital you’re late for your antenatal appointment,”
Oh gosh! I had forgotten about my appointment with the gynae. I immediately told the nurse to book me in and that I am already on the way.
I arrived at the hospital premises before getting out of the car. I wanted to call Damien, to notify him of my whereabouts but remembering our last encounter made me resist that urge.
I got out of the car and made my way to the gyno's office. After reviewing the test results the doctor announced that the baby is in perfect condition, and l will soon be due for delivery.
I was in high spirits after hearing the doctor’s report, I can’t wait to welcome my bundle of joy.”Smiles”
Driving out of the hospital I called my bestie Sonia, We have been friends since childhood more like sisters because we always had each other's back.
Sonia picked up and was happy that her bestie decided to call because we have not spoken in two days, before she could say anything I told her that I am on my way to her house and I told her to make shrimp spaghetti I am craving that at the moment, Sonia chuckled and before saying “okay Mrs. Graham at your service,” and we both laughed before ending the call.
I arrived at my friend's house and was ready to share all the juicy gist with my bestie but first things first I needed to eat because it seems I haven’t eaten in days. After eating I decided to tell Sonia everything about my unborn baby and the day’s activities while carefully omitting my earlier misunderstanding with Damien. Sonia was excited she was going to be a godmother soonest.
We started making plans on the baby essentials where to shop and stuff to buy.
Myra’s POV It's already past 10 pm and yet Damien is still not home, I couldn't sleep. The thoughts of something bad happening to him got me scared. I got out of bed and made my way to the lounge to call my husband’s secretary Mr.Jack.“Hello Mrs. Graham hope all is well ma’am”“Signs” I am sorry Mr.Jack for calling so late in the night, your boss isn’t home and his line isn't available so I wanted to find out if he's working late tonight,”He clears his voice and speaks in a formal tone, “Mr. Graham had an urgent meeting so he's out of town but he will be back tomorrow,”I said “Ohhh!” in a hushed tone and Mr.Jack asked if there is anything he will assist me with, I turned down the offer and thanked him before ending the call.I decided to go to the kitchen and prepare a milkshake hoping it will help me relieve tension. Standing close to the window staring at the sky “ my life is as gray as the clouds that I witness through my windows. But the gray cloud will disappear once it rain
Damien POV I got into my room and went straight to the cellar, took out a Johnie Walker whiskey, and poured out some for myself ”Hmmm this liquor has lifted my mood”. The ringing of my phone made me snap back to reality and I dipped my hand inside my pant pocket for the phone, looking at the caller id got me worried. My mum Empress Graham is a tough one and I know her reason for wanting to see me but I have to protect Myra at least for her condition at the moment. Suddenly thoughts of Myra flooded my head, the way she smiled and her excitement when she was telling me about the baby's gender, even though I have known about it for weeks now but I decided to keep it to myself. Gulping down the remaining liquor, I placed a call to my secretary to inform the driver that we will be heading to the grand villa in a jiffy. I moved to the bathroom to take a shower and after that, I applied my unscented body lotion and took out a plain white tee and dark blue faded jeans, and sneakers to fit,
Myra’s POV A new day has dawned bringing with it dreams and aspirations, drawing closer to my EDD “(expected date of delivery)”. I rolled uncomfortably on the bed as I felt the reflection of the sun's rays forcefully making its way into the room and resting on my face.“Signs” I flipped over to back the sun’s reflection, but I can still feel the heat, I opened my eyes and stare at the room, and instantly I got up from the bed realizing I'm in Damien’s room “the only time I shared a bed with my husband resulted in pregnancy and that was on the night of our wedding, after that he insisted on us having a separate room, how then did I end up in his room, on his bed” this is a mystery.Rubbing my eyes and yawing I remember falling asleep in the lounge on the couch, someone might have carried me here. Thoughts of Damian carrying me in his hands made me chuckle, just as I was about to sneak out of the room Damian entered he looked at me without saying anything, and I greeted him but he repl
“Ouch!!” I screamed trying to hold the couch to steady my balance, while Sonia and Mrs, Sarah stayed beside me looking worried and asking if I’m okay. In a flash, the pain was gone and it felt like nothing happened. Sonia suggested we go see the doctor but I waved it off telling her I was okay and that it was one of those cramps that come with pregnancy, unknowingly. The driver arrived in a Bugatti La Voiture Noire car, the car was gifted to me by my husband on our wedding day, and was very expensive. We got into the car and drove to the new studio with Sonia giving the direction on how to locate the studio, We arrived at a semi-detached purple duplex with the name Foxy Flash studio, the environment is calm and peaceful and the building has a breathtaking view more like something made out of wonderland. We got out of the car and walked to the foyer, where we met their receptionist “she introduced herself as Miss Dimples and asked if we came to inquire or already booked an appointment
We got into the “LDR” and the doctors and nurses got things ready. On my left hand, I have a cannula attached to my wrist with epidural drugs being administered by one of the nurses. The pain has become intense but I was instructed by the doctor not to push, till I am told to do so. I turned and was surprised to see Damian in the hospital room. I can't remember calling him because I thought he might be busy. I was scared he might turn down the offer if I told him to come and be my birth partner. His presence gave me hope and a new kind of strength that I didn’t know I had, for a moment it seemed as if the pain was no more. The doctor was ready and informed me that it was time for delivery and Damien was beside them. Then the doctor instructed me to push but I didn’t have any strength and I am beginning to feel weak. Damien came to my bedside and said " “Look at me babe, look at me,” he moved my face so our eyes would meet.” You have to push please, you need to listen to the doctor, ou
Myra’s POVThe sun streaming through the huge window woke me up in the morning, slowly and reluctantly I uncovered my face. I blink, close my eyes, and blink again. I sat up, dragged my feet off the bed, and rubbed my knuckles into my eyes. I stretched my arms above my head and yawned. Thoughts of last night flooded my mind, and I tried my best to shake it off by going to have a cold shower, it helps in relaxing my mind. Standing in the vanity unit and looking at the mirror, my mind drifted to that horrible night eight years ago the night my parents left me in this cold world alone and lonely. My parents, the Walters, were a good and loving family, my Dad Carter Walter was a sophisticated, well-mannered, and cheerful human who loved and protected his family dearly. He had the aura of a tiger because I remember people were very cautious and respectful when talking to him. He had a sea rover- blue eyes, bristly eyebrows. He had tousled dark black hair which was thick and lustrous. He ha
Meghan’s POV Sitting in the cellar sipping my Ciroc vodka and going through my phone, suddenly a message pops in and it's from Jim Black Hat the owner of Lusty strip, the popular stripper's nightclub in town, it read “He will be around tonight for a stripping prom ”. I giggled because finally, my plans of meeting Damian Graham will soon be a reality. I always have a way of getting what I want, having to offer Jim sex for him to spill when the famous Billionaire Damian will be around, is nothing compared to what I will achieve. I am a whore who goes with the highest bidder.I was pondering on how I will be able to enter the Vip lounge because only the lead dancer is been allowed inside, just then an idea crossed my mind and I took my cell phone and dialed Jim’s number, he picked up at first ring and I told him to switch my place with that of the lead dancer so I can have close access to Damian, he chuckled before responding “ Meg you know any offer comes with a price right” I said ye
Damien’s POV My eyes widen at the sight of my mother entering my office with a smirk on her face, leaving me groaning, knowing what she’s going to say. The same thing that made me get married, even when I didn't want to, leaving me frustrated.“Why are you doing this,” She asks, eyebrows furrowed as she eyes the files on my desk. Then she turns to look at Jack, my assistant for the past three years. One of her hands goes up to lift her sunglasses, “Damian Graham it's unlike you to ignore my calls, is it what that poor orphan has done to you, how can—”I cut her off, dropping the pen onto one of the files before pulling my sleeves into my elbows, I signed deeply “ I’m always busy mum” I responded, my voice sounding low and almost inaudible, she rolls her eyes “ You are wasting time son, all I'm asking is for an heir for us to secure the empire if the womb of that wife of yours, can't carry a son then you have no other option than to impregnate another” she stood up and cleared her vo
