For a moment, the silence took over my senses yet it was shattered when the noise of the undead thrived bigger each second passed by. It was alarming and threatening at the same time as if death was knocking on our door, though it seemed it was. Perhaps, the reality was cruel to even wish for this to end.

"Xiomara, the people who volunteered were now set inside the truck. We're ready to depart." Lieutenant William's voice rang in my ears that broke me out from mulling over my thoughts.

I caught his eyes on me with a meaningful gaze when I looked at him.

"Grande and I will create a disturbance for your breakout. Use the back door for an escape route and make sure you'll get out of here and the others alive."

"Xiomara..." there was an expressive meaning in his stares yet I shrugged those off. This wasn't the right time to ponder over that.

"Say what you want to say. Time is running and we can't afford to waste it any longer."
