Chapter One
The scraps and ashes in her black and leather clothing set forth a tale of a recent adventure. Azrael was always proud of them. Every scar, every wound, and every single drop of blood tells another story. It’s nice to have actually witnessed a world change over the course of billion years. It’s tiring, but it’s congenial. Azrael landed in one of the oldest residential buildings in the city of Bucharest agilely on her feet. She closed her voluminous black wings that are identical to the color of her hair and walked towards the railings of the rooftop to have a peek at the place. Azrael knew to herself she isn’t a follower, but it does not mean that she is not a believer. She doesn’t follow the rules, she makes them and if necessary she breaks them, and she is doing it exactly now without a pinch of regret in her narcissistic heart. She reminds herself, that she may sometimes be shallow but she has a reason. A raging one. The sound of noisy clamors in the market below the building st

Chapter Two
The girl started to stand up, and so as Azrael. Azrael saw her signaled something to the police who brought down their guns and turned off their sirens before they moved away from them. No wonder why Demons huddled around because a Greater Demon was present. Azrael studied Namaah, more known as Nae to her kingpins. She looks like a fugitive from a different time hiding away because of her clothes. All-black hooded cloak and leather. “What are you doing here?” Nae demanded from her while pulling her from the middle of the street as the traffic flow started going back to normal, she looks at Azrael with full incredulity. “I should be the one asking you that,” Azrael replied while brushing off the dirt on her pants and shirt. Nae examined her again and then glances over the place before beckoning Azrael to follow her. Azrael doesn’t hold prejudices against Demons, even though they were sometimes annoying, but she can’t say she was fond of them either. She followed Nae to what looked

Chapter Three
Nae left Azrael in her home to run some stuff before they started looking for Bernael, Azrael did not bother to meddle with it. She started to think, that if Nae betrays her then she will be unhesitant to kill her. Azrael contemplates her plan before continuing, if I don’t do it, I will be doomed, and I don’t want that to happen – she mulled over. Nae lends Azrael better and more mundane clothes. She looks at herself in front of the vanity mirror. Thirteen billion years and Azrael still looks the same as day one. She pushed back her curly raven black hair that went down to her spine and stared directly into her own eyes. She looks untired with her pale skin. She forms her thin heart-shaped lips into a sarcastic smirk. She went back from her trance when Nae arrives from the door, “You good to go?” Nae asked, she tied her hair up in a ponytail, making her features more eye-catching. “Yep,” Azrael said while sliding a curved blade from Nae’s table inside her jacket. She turned and fo

Chapter Four
Azrael felt she swirled into another unknown dimension but in reality, she is just carried by someone. She looked at the one who lets her go and it was Rogziel. In a group of five brothers, you can easily distinguish who Rogziel is because of his charcoal black hair that strands fall on his face, droopy nose, and thin mouth. He looked at Azrael with his amber eyes, that doesn’t give you a clue what he was about to say or what he actually feels. She realizes that her siblings were bulking up around her, she moved back and stretched her hands to hold them back. She saw they are wearing proper human clothes and guessed they were there all day trying to find her. Azrael laughed under her breath, puts her hands down and said, “What a good way to start a century.” she said snarky, she literally hasn’t seen anyone of them for years, especially Yerachmiel whom she hasn’t saw in probably thousands of years by now and except Ouriel whom she saw before she left. Remiel stood beside Rogziel,

Chapter Five
Yerachmiel live among humans for already 6,000 years. The 10th century or the High Middle Ages was the last time Azrael ever saw him. Azrael may have visited the human world for a couple of times but Yerachmiel never showed himself until now. She’s one of her siblings who believed Yerach left because of how cluttered their family had become. Azrael was fully aware that Rogziel and Ouriel flew from time to time at Yerach’s balcony to check if she’s still inside the room she’s been in. She ignored them completely, Ouriel must have been trying to make things right between the two of them. Azrael told Ouriel all of her plans, remove the killing part, before she left. He must have told it to someone and then they assumed that she might try to kill Bernael. Well she won’t, they just gave her an idea. She doesn’t even know what Bernael looks like and where she would start looking, she just wanted to see him and finds something to stop what was about to happen, and eventually ask him if he

“Why did you take me? Don’t you wanna give me a rest?” Azrael complained right when they left Yerach’s house. “I need to get you out of Rad’s parameter for the sake of my peace of mind.” Yerach replied while looking at Azrael in the rear mirror of his car. Azrael was sitting on the backseat while Rogziel sat beside Yerach. “Why don’t you just ignore Rad? You know him, it’s either he had too much to say or too quiet.” Rogziel uttered when they stop as the traffic lights go red. Azrael let out an exasperated breath. Rogziel’s right, “Why don’t you tell him to use his words wisely?” she said sardonically. Rogziel just shakes his head and paid attention to the buildings they pass by. Azrael amazed herself by the modernity of the city and decided to asked Yerach some questions, “Thousands of cities around the world, why did you choose to stay here?” Yerach smirked, “Because this is Los Angeles, a town full of oracles, con men, real estate speculators, all high on self-delusion, self-g

“Who is this guy?” Azrael demanded from the twins. Rogziel just shrugged, “I don’t know. Ask Remy.” Azrael was fed up with his answer, “What? You’re the one who pulled the paper. You must know who it is.” she replied in confusion. Yerach, Ouriel and Rad were whispering to each other and it annoyed Azrael more. Remiel decided to answer her, “A very old friend.” “An old flame.” Rad interrupted teasingly. “Thanks, Rad,” Remiel remarked and glared at him. Azrael looks way more confused than before and Yerach notices it, “What now, Azrael? I thought you knew everything.” he said to annoy Azrael until he hits her asshole button. “Except this one,” Azrael stated. She grabbed the paper in front of Remiel and studied the face of Sebastián Vozenilek. Platinum blonde hair which gave his pale skin some color, cool grey-blue with long eyelashes. He had a pale, elegant, restless face with high cheekbones. Even though she pulled her memory from the deepest she can’t recognize the guy. Rogzie

“The Peninsula? Tonight?” Yerach blurted out after Azrael gave them the location of where they can find Bernael, “God, he managed to get a fortune that would make him invited to that event?” he said in astonishment. “Of course. That guy Sebastián lives in a penthouse, and not just any other penthouse but one of the most expensive in Los Angeles.” Nae explained while she and Azrael were perched on a couch looking for a dress, “Bernael probably had the same living.” Yerach propped his hands on his chin and acts like he was thinking, he turned to Nae and said, “Is this the party I was invited to the last month?” “Apparently yes.” Nae replied, she handed the iPad to Azrael, “The one the Romanovs will throw.” “Is Anastasia alive?” Azrael said sarcastically without looking at anyone. She busied herself scrolling through the gadget she doesn’t have any idea how to use. “Not that one, Azrael.” Yerach corrected her. “Well, if it’s a big one then breaking and crashing into it would be eas

Azrael break into Sebastián’s penthouse easily. The whole place was dark and she had to be patient and wait for him. She sat in the piano, while waiting, she decided to press some keys. A Johann Sebastian Bach piece to remember the guy whom she’ll try not to kill. He had live a long life, Azrael said to herself. He should consider himself lucky to have a chance to do so. The elevator dings and opens up to Sebastián. He wasn’t surprised at all by Azrael waiting for him. He looks like he just came from the party and flashes a calm expression. Azrael looked at him. To be fair, the guy was attractive, no wonder Remiel got caught up with him once upon a time. But apart from it, Azrael doesn’t know what she likes about this guy. Or maybe he wasn’t bad at all, before. Azrael did not wait for him to reach her, she stood up, and flared the Blade in her hands. Many Damneds called her to have them killed, and it wasn’t against the rules of Heaven, and she won’t regret if she kills him now. Az

Chapter Ten
The morning sunbeams of Los Angeles was popping into the glass doorways of the dining room that leads to the pool. Summer was almost ending and fall is on its way. Music was playing from the stereo. The smell of bacon and eggs was coming from the kitchen where the siblings sat in the dining table. Ouriel was singing along as he put the eggs in the table. Azrael waltz in from the living room, she was already primped, same as her siblings. Her hair was falling freely that looks like a thread of a silvery black silk, “Sit. Breakfast is ready.” Remiel said gesturing the chair in front of her. The table was full of American type of breakfast. Fried bacon, scrambled eggs, sausage and egg sandwich, croissants, milk and orange juice. Azrael decided to tell them about last night and how she find Bernael. But there’s two factors why they didn’t go after him. First, because Azrael insisted not to and second, because they needed to be sure it was really him. That’s why they’re planning how to s
