Chapter 3

The dream was so vivid that it felt real. The alpha king, holding my child, with a hunger in his eyes that made me shiver. I shook my head to dispel the image, and I realized that I was not in my room but in a sitting room. How did I get here? I looked around the room, and my eyes settled on an older woman sitting across from me. She looked at me with concern etched on her face. "Good morning, Miss Amelia," she said. "You had a bad dream." I tried to recall who she was. Then it hit me, she was Vanessa Chen, one of the servants of the alpha king. Vanessa was different from the other servants. She was kind and gentle, and her eyes held a sadness that I couldn't explain. I wondered what her story was. "Are you okay?" Vanessa asked, bringing me out of my thoughts. I nodded. "I'm fine. Just a bad dream," I said. Vanessa smiled reassuringly. "It happens sometimes. The alpha king's mansion can be a strange and intimidating place." I shuddered at the mention of the alpha king. He was the reason I was here, and the thought of him made me uneasy.

"I don't understand why I'm here," I said. Vanessa's eyes softened. "You will understand in due time. The alpha king has his reasons, and they may not make sense to us, but we have to trust in his wisdom." I shook my head in disbelief. "How can I trust someone so cruel, cold and domineering? " Vanessa sighed. "The alpha king is not an easy man to understand, but he has his reasons. And we, as his loyal subjects, have to obey him." I wanted to argue, but I could sense that Vanessa's loyalty to the alpha king was unshakeable.

"I just want to go home," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. Vanessa's expression turned cold. "You will go home when the alpha king allows it. You are here because he wants you here. ." Her words stung, and I couldn't help but feel helpless.

Days turned into weeks turned into months , and I tried to adjust to my new life. It was not easy, but Vanessa's company made it bearable. She told me stories about her life in the mansion, about the alpha king, and his curse. I listened with rapt attention as she spoke about the curse that plagued the alpha king and how he needed a child to break it. She spoke about how the curse made him turn into a beast every full moon, and how he couldn't control his actions. It was a sad story, and I couldn't help

"He needs a child," Vanessa said, her voice hushed and grave. "A child born under a specific alignment of the stars. It's the only way to break the curse that has plagued him for years." I looked at Vanessa with a mix of confusion and disbelief. "What do you mean?" I asked, hoping for an explanation that would make sense of this strange situation.

Vanessa leaned in closer, her eyes scanning the room for any signs of eavesdroppers. "The child that the alpha king seeks must be born under a very specific alignment of the stars," she repeated. "It's a rare and unusual occurrence, and he has been waiting for it for a long time." Her words hung in the air, heavy with meaning.

I felt a sense of foreboding creep over me as I tried to process what she was saying. The alpha king needed a child to break a curse that had haunted him for years? It all sounded like something out of a fairy tale, too bizarre and far-fetched to be true. But there was no denying the seriousness and urgency in Vanessa's tone.

"But what about me?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. "What does he want with me?"

Vanessa hesitated for a moment before responding, her gaze fixed on some distant point in the room. "You, Amelia, are the key to his plan," she said finally. "The alpha king sees you as nothing more than a tool, a means to an end. He has been searching for a woman with your specific characteristics for a long time, and now that he has found you, he won't let you go until he gets what he wants."

I shivered at the coldness and ruthlessness in her words. I was nothing more than a pawn in the alpha king's cruel game, a means to an end. The thought made me feel small and powerless.

"But I don't want to have his child," I said, my voice trembling with fear and anger.

Vanessa's expression turned even graver. "It doesn't matter what you want, Amelia," she said. "The alpha king will take what he wants, when he wants it. You're just a vessel to him, a means to an end. He won't let you go until he's done with you."

I slumped back in my chair, feeling defeated and helpless. How could I possibly escape the clutches of such a cold and domineering man? The thought made me sick to my stomach.

Vanessa seemed to sense my distress, and she leaned in closer, her eyes boring into mine. "You have to be careful, Amelia," she said. "The alpha king is not a man to be trifled with. If you try to resist him, he'll make your life a living hell. But if you play your cards right, you might be able to survive this ordeal."

I looked at Vanessa, trying to gauge the sincerity and honesty in her words. "What do you mean?" I asked.

Vanessa's eyes flicked towards the door, and she lowered her voice even further. "I can't say anymore," she said. "Just remember, the alpha king is always watching, always waiting. You have to be smart if you want to get out of here alive." With that, she slipped out of the room, leaving me alone with my thoughts and a sense of impending doom
