Amelia's POV

We heard a very loud sound.

"What could that be? Why is the pack house dry and somehow deserted?" I asked, looking around, something clicked in my head.

"Let's get you to safety! We don't know what is going on!" I said to Vanessa as I led the way back to my room so I can give Ethan to Vanessa while we wait and check what's going on.

"What about you? Hailey?" She called as I placed my hands around her shoulder and led her through the passage that led to the rooms with Hailey closely behind us.

"Granny! You will be fine! I am not going anywhere, we just need to check if things are alright," she said from behind.

Vanessa nodded quietly.

"You can hear those loud sounds, to me, it

sounds like a gunshot," Hailey added, looking around.
