Chapter 31

Mariah POV

I fix my clothes quickly and head out the door, searching for Nick.

What the hell happened? How did Logan trick me into thinking he was Nick? How can he do that to me? And how did I fall for it so quickly?

I go up the stairs, tracking Nick’s scent. I follow his scent to his room, and I slowly open the door. I freeze when I see him. His look of rage makes me shiver. I walk in regardless of how nervous I’m feeling, and I close the door behind me.

“What are you doing here, Mariah? I don’t want to talk to you.” Nick growls.

"Baby, please, we need to talk this out. Listen to me, please.” I plead.

"HEAR, WHAT MORE OF YOUR LIES?” He snaps.

“They are not lies." Nick, you know me; when do I ever lie? You know I tell the truth, even if it hurts someone’s feelings.” I say.

He stalks towards me, and I back up slowly. I bump into the wall, and he cages me in.

“Why did you do it? Was I not enough?” He says this, breaking my heart at how vulnerable he looks.
