CHAPTER THREE

Accidentally Mated To Alpha Atlas

.

Chapter 3

.

Anais was most certainly going to be fired.

First of all, you don’t mate the clients.

Second of all, she couldn’t continue sex work while she was mated. Alphas wouldn’t want her now that her scent was laced with another alpha’s.

She didn’t even know the alpha’s name. A hysterical bubble of laughter escaped her.

The alpha shifted again behind her and Anais thought he was waking up. This was confusing and terrifying, but she needed to face reality. She had been dealt bad hands before, she would be able to deal with this just like she had with the others.

She took a deep breath to fortify herself and nearly moaned. The alpha smelled better to her than anyone ever had. She wanted to whine and bare her throat again and Anais realized that it would be like this from now on.

This was her alpha.

She closed her eyes and took one more breath before she shifted and slowly adjusted herself to her other side. She saw that the alpha was awake and wore an expression on his face that Anais’s probably matched.

It was a mixture of disbelief, regret, worry and embarrassment.

But there was also acceptance which settled Anais a little.

“Hi,” She whispered.

“Hello,” The alpha said. His voice was as deep as she remembered it and a shiver went through her body.

They stared at each other for another minute before Anais decided to get the awkward part out of the way.

“My name is Anais,” She told the alpha.

“Atlas Hawke” The alpha replied. He reached up gently and touched the bite on Anais’s neck.

The wound was still sore, which meant it probably wasn’t that old, but it didn’t hurt when the alpha brushed over it. In fact, it felt good and the tension that had built up in Anais’s body relaxed again.

She was slightly alarmed at how her body responded. She had never even really dated an alpha, so this was unfamiliar to her, but she also knew that this was typical behavior. Her omega would respond to her alpha now that they were bonded.

“I’m sorry for this,” the alpha said softly. “I don’t remember biting you.”

Anais nodded. “I don’t remember it either. I don’t remember a lot of the last week, to be honest,” She said.

The alpha continued to stroke Anais’s neck and she arched it for him. The alpha’s eyes widened slightly at her submission.

“I never intended to mate you against your will,” Atlas said.

Anais shook her head.

“It was both of us, Alpha,” She said. She didn’t realize she had called him that until it came out. She flushed a little at the familiarity but she continued when the alpha didn’t correct her. “I don’t remember anything. I was too far gone in the heat. I’ve never had a heat like that.”

“I’ve never rutted like that either. It must be our scents together. I would have never mated you without your consent normally.”

“I understand,” Anais told him.

And she knew the alpha was sincere. She could scent it on him now that Anais’s head was beginning to clear a bit. She could make out several nuances in the alpha’s scent beyond just their mated pheromones surrounding them.

Anais also knew that it wasn’t either of their faults really. Biology fucked them over sometimes.

“I had never felt like that before. Even before the heat hit, it was more…” Anais shrugged. “Just, more, I guess.”

The alpha nodded. “More,” he agreed.

They were silent for a few minutes before Atlas spoke again.

“I need to make some calls,” he said.

“Right, I’ll just…” She trailed around as she glanced to the floor where the scraps of lace lay in tatters.

The alpha must have understood because he pulled away and stood. He found his button up white shirt and handed it to Anais.

“You can put this on. I’ll just step outside. I’ll send for someone,” he told Anais.

She scooted to the edge of the bed and took the shirt.

“Thank you,” she said.

Her alpha nodded and grabbed his pants to put on. Anais watched the alpha check his pockets and nod to himself before he looked at her once more. He looked in control and that made Anais feel slightly better.

She could scent the confusion and wariness coming from the alpha, but there was no rage or disgust in his scent.

“I’ll be back shortly,” Atlas said.

Anais nodded, not sure what to do otherwise. She watched him leave and she looked around the room. There were the marks of several days of heat and rut sex. The bed was destroyed and soiled beyond recognition.

There were a few water bottles and plates of food scraps, indicating that they had at least done something to try and take care of themselves. Someone would have brought them food and water.

It wasn’t uncommon for a cycle to be triggered and the club had plans in place to help manage it. Anais had never been one that had to have her heat with a stranger in one of the private rooms downstairs though.

That was a first for her.

She threw the sheet back and stood. She needed to accept whatever was coming and figure it out. Atlas seemed like a decent guy, so maybe Anais wouldn’t be out on the streets.

She needed to be on her best behavior with the alpha though, until she knew what was going to happen. She pulled the shirt through her arms and the scent of the alpha wafted up to her nose.

She pressed her nose into the collar where it was the strongest and sighed. Her alpha smelled good. She pulled away and began to button up the shirt. It was big enough to cover half way down her thighs, so she was decent enough.

Anais was still trying to process the events of the past half hour when the door was opened. There was no knock and he was surprised to see Hazel open the door.

Hazel was a beta who was Madam Ivy’s second in command. She had always had a holier than thou attitude towards a lot of the omegas and she was furious now.

Anais recoiled a little bit at her hostility, wondering what was going on.

“What have you done?” she hissed at her as she pushed the door closed behind her. It didn’t close all the way, but Anais was still trapped in the room.

Anais’s eyes widened. “Me?” She exclaimed. “I haven’t done anything! I can’t help that we triggered each other.”

“I know this was a plan. All you omegas are the same,” she seethed as she stalked forward.

Anais took a step back from her.

“How you got Ivy to agree to let you take those alphas, I’ll never know. You aren’t good enough to service them.”

“Hey,” Anais began. She shifted and turned her head to face her and Hazel gasped. Before Anais could react, she had reached up and pulled her collar down.

“What is that?” she screeched.

Anais glanced at the door, but she didn’t see any sign of Atlas. She tried to shake Hazel off of her but she had a strong grip on her collar.

“Get off of me, Hazel,” Anais told her. “It’s none of your business.”

Her eyes widened and Anais could scent her outrage. “He mated you.” Her voice was flat and cold and Anais knocked her hand away from her body.

“It’s none of your business,” She repeated.

She shook her head in disbelief and Anais could scent her anger. “You planned this all, didn’t you?” she asked.

Anais frowned at her and shook her head but she continued on before she could speak.

“You found a way to have an alpha mate you. And not just any alpha, Atlas Hawke. I didn’t know you had it in you, Anais.”

“I didn’t do anything,” he told her.

Hazel was smaller than Anais was and she knew that even as an omega she was stronger than her, but something in her face made Ana cautious.

She had never seen that look in her eyes before and her scent broadcasted her rage.

She stepped back away from her again.

“This is disgusting. You’re not good enough to be anyone’s mate, Anais, let alone an alpha from the Hawke Dynasty. You’re nothing but a homeless, filthy whore. He won’t want you and when he’s done with you, no one will take you, not even us. And then-“

“What is going on here?”

Anais looked up to see Atlas push the door open with Madam Ivy right behind him.

She could see that Atlas was angry and his scent hit Anais’s nose as he fully entered the room. It was the same woodsy mountain air he had before, but it stung a little now. It was sharp with his anger and Anais tilted her chin slightly.

She had already backed up from Hazel as far as she could go and her back was pressed against the unyielding wall behind her. She licked her lips and lowered her eyes.

Hazel had been right in most of what she said. Anais was a whore, she was homeless if she couldn’t stay here and now she was mated to an alpha who was so far above her that she couldn’t imagine that he would want Anais.

“I was just making sure she understood her new role,” Hazel told Atlas smoothly.

Atlas nearly growled and Anais bared her neck further in response to the angry alpha.

“It sounded more like you were degrading her and threatening her,” Atlas said. “Ivy, is this how the omegas of this institution are treated?”

“No, Alpha Atlas, I can assure you, it is not the way they are treated,” Ivy was quick to say.

Anais could scent that she was shocked at Hazel’s behavior, but not surprised.

“Anais is my mate and will be treated as such. Now, we need the clean room and food that I requested.”

Anais was grateful for the alpha taking control. She hated to say it, but Hazel had shaken her a little bit. She was already unsure about what would happen and her words made her feel hollow with fear.

“Of course, Alpha Atlas.” Ivy told him with a smile. “I’m sure that there are things to work out between the two of you.” She gave Anais a quick glance and she nodded at her. “Hazel, please come with me.”

Atlas glared at her and watched her carefully as she flounced out of the room.

Anais breathed a sigh of relief when they were gone. And she wondered, not for the first time, who this guy was.
