ATLAS POV

Atlas lay with Anais after they were knotted, thinking about their discussion. Her omega had dropped off after several minutes and Atlas took some time to look over her. They were laying on their sides, spooned together and he could see a clear view of most of his mate.

His eyes followed his fingers as they trailed over her collarbone and down her back to her ribs. He brushed the hair off of Anais’s face and ears and looked at her lashes and freckles. Her perfect bow lips relaxed in sleep made her look young and youthful.

He thought about what Anais had said that night and realized, again, what life was like for his omega. He felt sad and angry that Anais had gone through so much. Atlas was both appalled and honored that Anais had such a tie to him, but it also made him feel slightly ill to know that his mate’s situation was so precarious.

He had been confident with Anais that this fragility wouldn’t be for
