Chapter 2

Aiden,

TWO HOURS BEFORE GETTING TO ST JOHN'S TOP PLAZA.

"Here is the contract Sir, please sign them." I shoved the documents to the CEO of resourcing factors Ltd.

He was requesting a three-year contract with my company. In this contract, it stated I was going to supply his company with crude oil for the next three years. It was indeed a big achievement. It wasn't easy for a young firm of mine to be the sole supplier of crude oil to an already established firm.

The CEO of resourcing factors Ltd held a blue pen and ran his signature in between the lines. A whopping 10 billion deal it was!!!!

"That said, we would take our leave. It was a pleasure doing business with your company." We both exchanged a handshake before he dismissed himself.

I was exhausted and wanted to get home, take a cold bath and lie on my bed for some hours. I needed to get back to work, sourcing different markets that were ready to consume my products.

My office door push opened, revealing the features of Anthony Miller; my best friend and business partner, "My man, how are you doing?" He let out.

"Get out of that chair and let's go celebrate our latest deal." He said pointedly.

AT THE CLUB

Well installed, we were both sharing a bottle of Tempranillo. Seating opposite the table occupied by two ladies. My eyes were scotch on the lady who was wearing a blue straight-fit gown. I don't know why I was doing eye contact with her. Perhaps because she was wearing a blue dress which happened to be my favorite colour.

She was a brown-skinned lady with pink lips. She was roughly 160 cm tall. She was wearing a blue gown and nude makeup which accentuated her beauty.

"Ten Million dollars, are you ready?" Miller's husky voice sank deep into my system. My gaze left the young lady's sight to that of my best friend.

"What for?" I asked, seems I was missing out on something.

"Lure the lady in dating you for a week, and get a compensation of ten million dollars." Miller raised an eyebrow, his lips full of smirks.

I don't know what game he was trying to play, but I was going to beat him on this. After all, I was hot, classic, and handsome. I was literally every woman's dream. I mean, who wouldn't want to date a billionaire?

"I accept your deal." I cursed beneath my lips. It's not like ten million dollars was a big deal. It didn't even equate what I made in two days. Just for the fact he was putting me up to a task, I wanted to prove him wrong.

After I joined the lady's table, we wined and exchanged some ideas, till she was tipsy and could no longer resonate for herself. Her friend was nowhere and I didn't want to leave her all to herself. I dare not take her to my house since she wasn't my girlfriend.

I reserved a suite and next thing, we found ourselves naked and shared intimacy. It was the best I had had in a while.

The next morning I got up and noticed the bed sheet was stained with her blood. It was probably her first time.

"Damn, what did I just do?" I face-palmed, getting down from the bed. Miller's bet didn't include having a one-night stand with her, it was just dating for one week. How did we even end here? I asked myself.

After two minutes of reflection, I tore a page from my notebook and wrote down something on it. 'Let's forget this ever happened.' I deposited the note on the head bed and associated it with a cheque of 50,000 bucks. It was compensation for the pleasure we both shared. 50,000 bucks for a night was more than enough to get her life back on track.

The fact we both shared intimacy and I was the first to have a taste of her didn't mean I was going to stick to a relationship. I wasn't going to stoop low in dating a low-life girl like her.

Also, I had no time to concentrate on love and commitment. I was a businessman who only had God for his business. A renowned bachelor I was, and it seemed not to bother me. That said, I shut the hotel room behind me. The only thing left of me in that room was my sweet cologne which intoxicated the atmosphere.

In my office, seated behind my syrup-brown coffee mahogany table, my one hand held a pen, and I dug the other hand into my voluminous brown hair, pushing them back. Why was I still nervous? I thought I had settled the problem already by offering the lady money?" I pondered.

The wooden door of my office abruptly opened, I guess it was Miller, as he had the tendency of barking into my office without knocking.

"Hello man, how was it?" he asked, taking a seat and crossing his arms over his chest. His face focused on me.

"How was what?" I responded in anger. I didn't want another person to remind me of what I just went through a while ago.

"The encounter with the lady of course. Are you guys meeting again?" He asked, his face full of grimaces.

"We are not-" Before I could complete my statement, Miller suspended my words into thin air.

"What do you mean you aren't meeting again?" He asked, anger cursing down his face.

I took a deep breath, searching for the right words, "We were intimate last night." I finally pour out.

I could see Miller's expression changing from a fierce to a bright smile. He was happy I took advantage of the lady, or whatever the case was. He got up from his seat, dug his hands in his pockets, and strolled around for a minute.

His moves annoyed me as that sent my adrenaline pumping with pressure. He knows I hate it when he strolls when I'm bothered about something.

His lips edged up into a smile, "Did you love it?"

I let out a low growl, my eyes flashing with anger, "How dare you ask that of me? Of course it was a mistake."
