The clicking of boots against the damp stone let me know nothing in particular. In the time I’ve been down here there, the clicking boots could mean 1 of 3 things:

1) someone is bringing me scraps 

2) Derek has come down to talk to me

or 

3) The Daemonium has sent someone to beat me

I don’t bother with a response or moving from my slouched position in the corner of the cell. 

Scraping of metal replacing the clicking makes me look up. A plate in front of me catches my eye. I look up and into Dereks eyes.
