Audrey stood up hurriedly when she realized her minute will be up soon, she coughed and wiped her tears as she ran out of her room and down the stairs.
She got outside of the house and rushed into the car, she didn't turn to look at Damien but she felt his eyes on her as she breathed heavily.
“Right on time.” He muttered and the driver drove out of the compound, Audrey felt nervous and she squeezed her fingers into a fist, she breathed carefully not to try to upset him.
She never knew he could act that way, he had seemed so cool and nice until that moment.
“Mrs. Robbin,” Damien called and Audrey didn't give him a response, she was lost in thought.
“Mrs. Robbin.” He called again but louder this time and she snapped out of her thoughts and turned to him in fear.
“Ye... Yes?” She replied in fear and turned to him, he suddenly held her hand and creased it, Audrey looked at him surprised. Wasn't this the same man that pinned her to the wall and choked her? Why is he trying to calm her down?
“Take in a deep breath.” He ordered as he stared at their locked hands.
She took in a deep breath and breathed out, she slowly freed her fingers and calm down.
“Wipe your tears.” He ordered again and she did immediately, she had no idea she was crying, guess she was so terrified.
“Better?” He asked and she nodded.
“Words Audrey.”
“Yes, yes, I am fine.” She replied sharply and he let go of her, she slowly looked at him and she noticed he paid attention to his phone.
She was still confused about what just happened, first, he was being ruthless and aggressive than all of a sudden he is being calm and cool again. That is weird.
After some minutes, they finally got to their destination and Damien turned to Audrey, he held her hand again and she felt goosebumps all over her body. Why the hell is she being so sensitive to his touch?
“We have arrived.” He said and she nodded.
“When I am talking to you, I will like you to use your words to reply okay?”
“Yes, sorry about that.” She apologized.
“No matter what, don't feel intimidated, and don't listen to whatever anyone tells you okay?”
“Yes.” She replied immediately.
“Okay, let’s go.” He said and they both got down, he locked their hands, she was about to walk in when Damien pulled her and they headed to the back of the restaurant, she wondered why and she wanted to ask questions but she felt scared to do so.
She was still wondering what type of business meeting is done at a restaurant.
Her curiosity grew wider when a worker from the restaurant showed up at the back door and led them in, she looked around where she was and realized it was more like a basement, they stood in front of a door and the worker stopped.
“You can go ahead, sir.” He said and walked away, Damien opened the door and they both walked in, Audrey felt dizzy immediately as the scent of alcohol and drugs hit her nostrils, she closed her eyes and held onto Damien’s arm.
“What?” Damien asked and she let go of him.
“Nothing.” She replied and he nodded, Audrey turned to her front and she suddenly froze as she stared at what was before her.
How can a place like this be in a restaurant? Is that even legal?
It was a room filled with men and ladies, there was a huge table at the center with chairs around it just like in a company’s meeting room.
On the table they were all kinds of stuff like alcohol, cigarettes, and hard drugs, on the other part of the room, there were girls half naked with some men and she felt disgusted. Music was being played but it wasn't so loud, next to the men around the table were ladies dressed in a black short gowns, just like her.
Is this some kind of cult meeting?
What kind of place is this? Why is it in a restaurant of all places? And why the hell isn't it running at night? Things like things are run at night, not during the day.
Audrey had a thousand questions she wanted to ask Damien but she knew she couldn't, who knows what he might do to her this time?
Finally, a man noticed their presence and they all whispered to themselves.
“You are late.” A man seated around the table said and Damien ignored them, he pulled Audrey with him and they both walked to the table, there were two vacant seats and it was obvious it looks like a seat for the boss because of how huge and different it was from others.
They both sat on it and Audrey’s eyes landed on a man that looks familiar, she remembered it was the same man she saw with Damien when she woke up, he smiled at her and she also smiled a little at him.
She suddenly felt dizzy again as the scent was now stronger, she whimpered and held Damien’s arm tightly again, Damien knew she couldn't handle the atmosphere in the room and he turned to the men.
“Clear all this shit on the table, you are making her uncomfortable.” He ordered and the ladies half naked at the other part of the room stood up and cleared it while the men with them also joined the table.
“Are you okay?” Damien asked Audrey as she slowly let go of his arm.
“Yes.” She replied and he turned back to the men.
“Let’s begin.” He ordered and a map was suddenly displayed on the table, Audrey stared at it and wondered what country's map it is.
“Reports from last week?” Damien asked and a man stood up with some papers and walked to him, they handed them to him and he flipped through the pages.
“What is this?” He asked and threw the papers on the table, Audrey flinched and he looked at her before turning back to the others.
“Why am I a million dollars short?” He asked the man that gave him the papers.
‘A million dollars?’ Audrey thought and kept watching with interest, it was a very interesting but disturbing meeting to Audrey.
“The... The Russians got there before us sir.” The man replied and bowed, Audrey was amused again by this, this man was clearly older than Damien but the fear and respect he has for Damien were obvious.
“How could you all be so careless?”
“We are sorry sir.” They apologized and Audrey took her time to look at the ladies.
For some reason, half of the were glaring at her while the other half looked disgusted and jealous. Did she do something wrong? She is so sure this is her first time meeting them.
The meeting finally came to an end after an hour and Damien stood up with Audrey, the men went back to the drugs and the music became louder.
“I will be back, give me some minutes,” Damien told Audrey.
“Okay.” She replied and she watched him walk to the man that smiled at her earlier.
“They must be really close.” She muttered and looked around, her heart suddenly skipped a beat when she saw the ladies glaring at her, one of the suddenly walked toward her and she was confused about how to act or what to do.
“Hmm, good... good day.” She greeted and bowed slightly.
“Well, you are the new one.” She chuckled and Audrey felt so intimidated.
Damien suddenly showed up and she sighed in relief. The lady was about to walk away and Damien pulled her by her hair which made her scream in pain and everyone turned to them.
“I saw you bowing at her,” Damien said to Audrey.
“Yes... I... “
“On your knees.” He ordered the lady and she knelt immediately.
“Apologize to her.”
“Am sorry, am really sorry ma’am.” She apologized in fear and Damien let go of her hair.
“Get up.” He ordered and she stood up immediately, she ran away from them and Audrey wondered how he had so much control over everyone in the room.
“I will like to make a quick introduction,” Damien announced gaining their attention.
“Everyone, meet Audrey Robbin, my wife.” He introduced and Clyde chuckled with his hands in his pocket.
“This is interesting.” He chuckled and clapped alongside others.
“Thank you.” Audrey said nervously as they appreciated her, she walked out of the room with Damien and she sighed in relief.“I told you not to feel intimidated.” Damien said as they headed out of the restaurant. “Am sorry, I just couldn't help it.” She replied and he didn't say another word. They both enter the car and Audrey’s stomach suddenly grumbled, Damien turned to her and she looked away embarrassed.“Are you hungry?”“No.” She lied but her stomach failed her by grumbling again.“You haven't had breakfast.” “No, it's fine.” “Well, I have other places to be and we can't wait at the restaurant, you will eat when you get home okay?”“Yeah, thank you.” She replied without turning to him, she still felt embarrassed and she felt like hiding herself far away from him. The cat suddenly stopped minutes later and she turned to Damien, they weren't home yet so why did they stop?“I am getting off here, the chauffeur will take you home.” “Where are you going?” “I have work to do.”
They got to the dining and their meals were dished already, they sat next to each other and both started eating.Audrey ate slowly as she tried not to make any mistake that can make him hurt her again. “Audrey.” Damien called and she turned to him.“Yes?” “Tell me about your ex-husband.” He said and she gulped, ex-husband? Well, she has no choice but to agree to it at this point, she doesn't remember being divorced.“Am waiting.” He added and she snapped out of her thoughts.“Oh, yeah. His name is Charles Williams and we have been married for two years.”“No kids?” He asked as he ate. Audrey froze as she remembered her not being able to give birth was one of the basic problems she had with Charles.“Oh, you are barren?” He asked and a tear rolled down her eyes.“Hmm, I... I... We both agreed not to have a child yet.” She lied and she heard him groan.“Is that why he hits you?”“He doesn't.” She lied again.“Yes he does, no man in his right senses should hit a lady.” He said and turn
Audrey paced around the room and cried, why did she have to do that? She just got herself into a huge mess. She should have just accepted the fact that she is stuck here for ninety days, why the hell did she make that phone call? The door to her room suddenly opened revealing Damien and she froze.“Yes, Mrs. Robbin? You called 911.” Damien said and walked towards her slowly.“I... I... ““Are you okay? Why are you crying?” “Am sorry.” She apologized in tears and he sighed.“You called 911, why did you call the number if you weren't in an emergency?”“I... I thought it was the cops.” She replied he moved closer to her, but she couldn't move because she was too scared to.“Why did you call the cops?” “Nothing, am sorry. Please don't hurt me.” She cried.“I won't if you give me a good reason why you called 911.”“I... I wanted to get help.”“From what?” “You kidnapped me.” She replied and Damien paused.“Well, the contract doesn't say so. We are legally married so why call the cops?”
“What?” Audrey asked confused and he rolled his eyes.“Just watch.” He said and she sighed before turning to the stage, Audrey watched with interest and wondered what was going to happen. If this man is all about having sex with her then why go through all these processes?“Get up.” He ordered and the girl did immediately, he untied her hands and she moaned, he dragged her to a pole and tied her hands to it, she winced in pain and Audrey turned to look at everyone in the room, they seemed to be enjoying the show.“Kneel.” He ordered her and she knelt immediately, he took off his jeans and Audrey looked away.“Watch it,” Damien whispered and she slowly turned back to the stage, her lips were slightly open in shock as she watched the guy force his cock into her mouth, Audrey turned away again but Damien suddenly squeezed her hand and she winced in pain. Clyde glanced at them and he noticed Damien was forcing Audrey to watch it. “I don't feel comfortable watching it.” Audrey whimpered
Damien met Audrey in the car waiting for him, she looked away from him immediately as he entered the car. “Head to Amigos.” Damien ordered the chauffeur.“Yes sir.” He replied and Audrey looked at Damien.“Where is Amigos? And why are we going there?” Audrey asked and Damien ignored her.“Come on, Damien, I want to go home.” “You will.” “So why are we going to Amigos? What is that place?”“I don't have a reason to answer you, you will see it for yourself when we get there.” He replied and she sighed, she felt unsatisfied with the reply she got but she decided to keep quiet about it. The car finally stopped in front of a restaurant and she saw the name.“Oh, Amigos is a restaurant.” She said and Damien ignored her as he got down, she also got down and walked to him.“We haven't had dinner yet, that is why we are here. Happy now?” He asked and she rolled her eyes.“Did you just roll your eyes at me?” He asked angrily.“Yes, and am sorry. I didn't know why I did that.” She apologize
“What?” Audrey yelled as he stood up.“What?” He asked back and she stood in front of him as he tried to walk away.“Are you trying to say you aren't going to eat that food?” She asked staring into his eyes.“Yes, I already told you, I lost my appetite.” He replied and tried to walk away again but she stopped him, Damien was surprised by her sudden confidence but decided not to show it.“Damien, I woke up early and I spent hours making those meals and you just said you lost your appetite?” She asked and tears were rushing to her eyes.“Are you going to cry because I don't want to eat?”“No, it is because I spent hours preparing it and you won't even have a taste of it, it's not fair.” “You can cry all you want, but still not interested.” He said and walked away, Audrey sighed and tears rolled out of her eyes, what a waste of effort. She turned to the meal and sighed, she looked around and she saw some maids peeping.“You guys can have it if you want.” She said and walked away from t
“Damien!” She yelled and rushed after him, she met him at the stairs and he ignored her, she blocked his path when they got to the hallway and he sighed.“What do you want Audrey?” He asked and sighed.“I want to know what you want to... “ She trailed off as she felt a sharp pain in her stomach, she winced in pain and fell to the floor.“Are you okay?” Damien asked calmly as he stared at her, he didn't look scared or worried as she winced in pain.“My stomach hurts.” She replied and he rolled his eyes.“It's noon already and you skipped breakfast, what do you expect?” He asked and stretched his hand towards her.“Come on.” Audrey slowly took his hand and he pulled her up, he held her hand and they both walked down the stairs. They got to the dining and the maids already prepared lunch, they sat next to each other and Audrey felt annoyed. He wouldn't eat her food but he would eat the maid’s food. Such a jerk.“You skipped breakfast because I rejected your meal,” Damien said as she slo
“Why are you playing dumb?” “Charles, what are you talking about? What do you mean by divorce papers?”“We are divorced, did you hit your head or something? Your parents have been threatening me for days saying I hurt you or something, I don't give a fuck if you are hurt. All I need you to do is sign the divorce papers, tell me your address and I will send them to you.” He yelled and Audrey’s hand shook, a tear rolled down her eyes and she started to cry.“You kicked me out right?” “Of course, I had no choice but to do that when you weren't willing to leave.”“Are... Aren't you worried about me? I have been missing for days right? Don't you care?” She asked in tears and she heard him scoff.“Who cares? Send me the address via a text message.” He replied and ended the call, Audrey suddenly screamed in tears and fell to the floor, she sobbed like a baby and she wasn't trying to stop herself, she decided to let it all out hoping to feel better. She cried for some minutes and decided to
