Chapter 41
ZaydenI don’t know what happened to my poor mate but who ever did this to her is going to pay the price. The torture she went through shows peaking out from under her hospital gown. It’s been three weeks since we found her. She hasn’t woken up and the doctors are not sure when she will. They said if we didn’t make it back when we did she wouldn’t have made it. The blood transfusion they did had made her smell all funny. Guaranteed she smelled off to begin with but most kidnapped people do when we find them. They have the sent of every person that’s been around them. It also depends if a vampire kidnapped them. If a vampire kidnaps someone and feeds off them their saliva enters their blood stream and mixes both of their scents so other vamps know that they are someone else and not to touch them. It reminds me of how we mate and mark our mates and how our scents join together. The apple and vanilla scent that is uniquely Everleigh has a slight under tone of earth and decay on top of t

Chapter 42
ZaydenI make it to Everleigh’s room in no time. When I open the door I’m transported back to when she woke up in the hospital when she got here. I see her curled up in the corner at the far end of the room. Her eyes are darting around like she is seeing something else. I take a step in to the room shutting the door and put my hands in the air. The movement startles her enough and she whips her head in my direction. I watch as her eyes go wide before saddened emotions start flying over her face.I take a step in her direction and stop.“Everleigh.” I sigh out and smile. She cocks her head to the side and sniffs the air. I hear her heart rate pick up before she launches herself at me, wrapping her legs around my waist and burying her nose in the crook of my neck. I wrap my arms around her and bury my nose in her neck. Inhaling her scent to calm my nerves down.“Where is Grey?” I hear her whisper against my skin, sending goosebumps all over my body.“He is coming baby.” I tell her trail

Everleigh I believe I’ve been here for a month already. The window in my room, I have come to find out, is enchanted. I can’t really go by it if it’s actually day time or not. Let alone how long I have actually been here. There are days when the light in the window seems to go down faster than others and other days it feels like it’s been sunnier longer. They haven’t tried tying me up or keeping me in this room, though this is where I stay most of the time. I roamed around the house a little bit the first day after I woke up. I haven’t seen but a few patrol guards either. Yes I can get out of here at any time but I’m bidding my time trying to find out what is going on and why he is really doing all this. His thinking makes no since at all. I mean why would I want to be with someone who would treat me like me shit in public but cherish me in private? That makes absolutely no since at all. Once I get all the information I need I’m getting the hell out

Chapter 44
I’ve been driving for around six hours and the beacon in my chest is getting stronger every mile I make it so I know I am getting close. I wonder if I will have any issues getting in the territory. I have been gone a month and from what Briar told me they found someone else. I wonder if anyone else knows about her yet. I don’t realize how close I am to the territory until I see wolves running next to me in the woods. I slow down the car before going around a curve and slamming on the breaks so I don’t hit the heavy metal gates that are closed. A wolf steps out and shift to their human form. I recognize him as a warrior but I don’t know his name. He puts on a pair of shorts and walks to the driver side window. I roll it down when he gets closer and he stops short. “I’m sorry Luna. I didn’t know you left the pack house.” He says shocked. “Since we have been on lock down no one was suppose to be let out.” “I just need a quick break and a run in to town.” I said

Chapter 45
Everleigh I wake up to bright lights overhead. I groan as I try to move and cover my eyes with my arm. Something pulls at my arm and keeps it from coming all the way up. I cracked my eyes open and notice the needles, wires and tubes around me. The all-white walls and the uncomfortable bed under my back. The scratchy blanket that laid across my body. I sigh opening my eyes and turning my head to look at him. I suck in a breath at the sight of him. His eyes are no longer the bright chocolate brown I’m use to. They are duller. Less lively. They look sunken in and have dark circles around them like he hasn’t slept in a while. I pull my hand away from him before trying to sit up. The pain in my chest and lower body feels like I’ve been hit by a semi-truck. Grey sees I’m struggling and helps me sit up then uses the remote to move the back of bed up to a leaning position. “Thanks.” I tell him pulling the blanket back up that fell. “Anything for you.” He whispers while looking down on the
