Chapter 8 - Reflection

Wanda POV

The Omegas were huddled together in a corner of the yard, holding their crying children in their arms.

“Shut up!” One of the Red Rock warriors shouted and aimed a rifle at a woman who tried to soothe her crying baby.

“Hey!” I shouted and placed myself in front of the barrel. “Hurting women and children is a coward’s move.”

“Move bitch.” The warrior growled.

My heart pounded in my ears, but I remained standing with the barrel pressed to my chest.

“Name and rank?”

I recognized the voice instantly and my blood boiled.

It was Alpha Harald.

The warrior lowered his gun and took a step back when Alpha Harald pushed past him.

“Wanda Nordin, Omega rank,” I replied and glued my eyes to the ground.

I wanted to punch the guy in the face, but I needed to protect my Omegas. My pride was a small sacrifice for their well-being.

“Wanda.” Alpha Harald said. ”I trust that you can hold your people in check.”

I nodded.

”I can Alpha.” I replied. ”May I make a request?”
