The information slammed through me like a moving truck jerking me out of my goddamn mind. This was worse than I thought. “My God. Jason, is a demon.” I glared at Marde. “Jason killed Kain! That bastard killed Kain, and you kept the secret this whole time? You’re a killer, just like him.”

He laid there like a cat caught in a web, saying nothing. Although I had anger and resentment for Kain, I felt bad for what Jason did. Kain was the only one of the three that felt remorseful. That wanted to right their wrongs. The only one with a conscience. He didn't deserve to be killed that way.

“What happened to the tapes?” I could barely ask through the fog that clouded my throat.

“The man was supposed to extract the tapes after the accident, but before he could, Kain's car caught fire. Everything burned to the ground.”

I felt lightheaded at that bit of information. “So, there's no tape?” I asked, to make sure of everything.
