Chapter 30

Abigail sat at her desk, staring at the doodle of the two hands she’d drawn. Why did these hands have such an impact on her? She almost felt as if they belonged together. As if they were one.

“Abigail, what are you up to,” yelled her mother from downstairs, “you’re supposed to be practicing your magic in the back garden.”

Abigail gave an eye roll and knew immediately that her mother would sense it, not really caring if it pissed her off or not.

“I know that you might not feel like practicing today but you need to keep your lessons up in order to become stronger and more comfortable with your elements. Listen to me and get down here immediately!”

Abigail got up from her chair and placed her grimoire back on her altar. The image of the hands haunted her. Why did they seem so familiar and why did she feel that they belonged together?
