Chapter 2

She pushed him away and ran out of the suit, never to look back again.

She almost pressed the lift button ten times in a just span of three seconds before the private lift opened.

The girl reached the basement of the hotel only to realize that all her things were left in the suit on the top floor, including her car keys as well as mobile.

But this wasn't time to think about the car, she had to flee before his man could catch her.

If she gets caught, only God will know what he can do to her.

Without thinking much the girl held her dress in place and ran towards the exit. But as soon as she reached the main door she found many eyes on herself.

Cristiana paused for a moment before she realised that she was standing in the middle of the road, without hiding her extremely famous face and in torn clothes.

In her frenzy, she forgot that she was the most famous actress in the whole country at the moment.

Her face was plaster over most of the screen of the city.

Before the people would notice her the girl held her already messy hair and pushed them in front of her face.

She ducked her head and instead of getting a taxi, she moved towards a small street at the side of the road which was less crowded.

Unknowingly she chose the road that she would never forget in her life.

Cristiana walked and walked, she followed the path of dark alley and moved forward the way ally was leading her.

The dipper she walked she found less and less people around. Cristiana's heart was beating wildly in her chest, her heart was telling her to walked away frome

The woman moved on the small street sneakily, saving herself from the people passing by until she reached the dark alley, which was void of any living soul.

But the girl wasn't afraid of the scary silence ahead because the scariest thing of her life was now chasing her from behind.

How would she know that something even more dangerous was waiting in front of her.

The moment she set her foot in that dark valley her fate was decided.

Death.

The more she walked ahead she was taking steps toward her death.

Cris reached near the end of the valley from where she could see some light. In the hope to find the way, she hastened her steps.

Bang!

Before she could set a foot on the red line at the end of the street hidden in darkness, a sharp pain shot from her left arm. Her slender body swayed and she fell to the ground.

"Did he get me that soon? No way…I have to run away…" fear and bleeding wound did their work and she lost consciousness.

In her subconscious, she felt someone dragging away her body before she succumbed to her fate and closed her eyes finally.

Maybe hours passed and when her eyes opened finally the girl found herself in a bird cage, large enough to fit her.

Pain from her left arm was making her realize that she wasn't somewhere safe.

"Vinso….is that you," she cried. Her vision was still blurry, returning ever so slowly. She was in fear that he might have caught her already.

"You seem to be obsessed with the name," suddenly a deep dark voice rang.

The cold tone made her shiver uncontrollably. Her head became clearer and she tried to stand up from the cold iron ground.

She pulled herself towards the iron, holding her injured arms. The room was very dark and only a source of light was coming from the single small window-like opening which was also blocked by the chair on which the man could be seen sitting.

In the shadows, she couldn't see him but he could.

"Who are you? Did Vinso send you here? Where is he?" One after another the woman asked questions.

"Cristiana DeCarlo, isn't that your name? Twenty-six-year old, an established actress," Instead of answering he asked her.

"It is. Did he order you to kill me?" Cristiana asked.

"I don't take orders from other girls. I give orders," the man said and suddenly the dark room lit. The glaring lights above her head fell on her eyes and blinded her momentarily.

From the crack of fingers, the girl finally saw the face of a man sitting like a bad boy- no he couldn't be called a boy. He was a fully grown man with a god-like face.

A face that could shame the devil himself.

For a moment Cristiana was shocked silly.

As he said before, she was the best actress to date and being in show business she has seen all kinds of handsome men. And none of them had made her heart flutter as this man did.

"W-who are y-you?" She finally found her voice.

"Vincenzo La Russo was found injured in Titlespring's best hotel suite last night. The girl with whom he had checked in is missing and he is looking for her like a crazy man," again her question was ignored.

"And it seems like by sheer luck I found that extraordinary girl who almost brain haemorrhaged that man single-handedly," he added.

The devil stood up from his chair and walked towards her.

He stopped in front of the door of the cage and squatted down to her level.

"How did you do that?" He asked, his pale olive eyes looking at her as a predictor looked at his prey.

By now Cristiana had guessed that this man was anything but Vinso's man.

"Does it matter how I did it?" She asked, looking at him straight in the eyes even though her whole body had frozen cold by his presence.

"Not really," the man said with a one-sided grin.

"But I'm interested in knowing that what you did was just on a whim or do you really mean to kill him," he asked.

Cristiana looked at him for a few seconds and then around her.

She was already caged and was going to die in the hand of this man or either Vincenzo.

"I mean it. But I'm disappointed that I left him alive. Should have taken that last breath away from him," sparks of anger irrupted from her emerald green eyes.

"Excellent. You are the type of person I was looking for, long," the man said. And his praise made Cristiana smile. For a moment she felt that fear Inside her washing away.

"Now you know everything. What now, are you going to kill me?" Cristiana asked.

"Of course not," the man shook his head.

"Then why did you trap me here?" Cristiana asked, confused.

"You were invading my private property so my man captured you. I did my little research and now I know you are no harm to me so you won't be killed," the devil said.

"Will you allow me to go then?" Cristiana held the iron bars and tried to sit up.

"Of course not. I'm not Saint but Satan," he showed her his most evil smile.

"What you mean," Cristiana took a step back although there was no way she could run away in a cage.

"I think it will be profitable to sell you to Vincenzo La Russo. How much do you think he will offer you?" He asked with raised eyebrows.

"B-but you said you don't work for him," panic amplified in her beautiful eyes.

"I don't know but I can do business with him. A really good business with a hundred per cent profit," he spat those last words and moved towards the exit.

"No ..wait…. I'll give you money if you want….," But her yells fell on deaf ears. As soon as the man exited the automatic door closed itself and the light above her also switched off.

Her frail body slid down through bars and fell on the cold floor. The last hope of running away was gone.
