Chapter 21

EMY'S POV

I opened my eyes again, staring at the ceiling for a while before I moved to sit up. The last thing I remembered was passing out. I looked out the window and was surprised to see it was dark outside. How long was I out?

"Five hours."

I flinched at the voice that came from my right side and I saw Dylan with his legs crossed and a large flat book in his hands. He glanced at me for a while even as his own continued to move.

"You were out for five hours," he said again and this time, he put the book aside and I saw someone move. A guard hurried to take it from his hands. "Hand this over to Alpha Thorn. He knows what to do with it."

"Yes, Alpha," the guard bowed and immediately left the room.

Did he watch over me during that five hours I was out? I felt grateful that I didn't have to sleep all by myself but I hoped it wasn't a bother.

"Thank you," I lowered my head to him and my hair fell forward, blocking him from my vision.
