Chapter 17. Carmen's Shocking Discovery

Carmen agreed to be there at his place, and they hung up.

Kay had breakfast with his parents, and they discussed work and the situation at the company.

They were happy to see him and also talked largely about their health, political issues, their friends and family members too.

Kay's heart was filled with so much joy that morning.

"Let's get over this," he said looking out of the window.

Janelle and her parents came in together after about 30 minutes.

Kay's mum hugged them and offered drinks that they also accepted.

Kay greeted Mr and Mrs Barbington and walked past Janelle to go call his Dad.

She smiled awkwardly at him and muttered,"You'll be nice when we get married after all,"

Kay sat nervously at the head of the table as his parents and Janelle's parents filed into the conference room. The meeting had been called to discuss Janelle's unexpected pregnancy, and Kay knew that it was going to be a tense and uncomfortable affair.
