As she walked toward them, a genuine smile lit up her face. She embraced Kay first, a loving hug that conveyed both her maternal affection and pride. Then, turning her attention to Carmen, she greeted her with a genuine warmth that made Carmen feel instantly welcome.

"Hi ma'am, it's such a pleasure to finally meet you," Carmen said, her voice laced with sincerity.

"Likewise, Carmen. We have met before but we didn't get to acquaint ourselves very well then, you know, this is more proper and warm my dear. Kay has spoken so highly of you," Eleanor replied, her eyes sparkling.
