Maxine.

"What did you do dthis time Maxine?" it was clear by the tone he used that he was not at all happy being here. The feeling was mutual being really... I didn't like him being here almost as much as I didn't like me being here.

"Why do you always asume that I've done something?"

"You just so happened to be in the principal's office because you scored a perfect grade on your tests?" his question was totally rhetorical and full of sarcasm.

"I can't help being smart dad," I gave him a slightly innocent shrug, just to tick him off a bit... my dad totally hated it when I did that.

He frustratedly grabbed his hair, and on realizing waht he had done, made an effort to return it to it's previous perfectly gelled hair... and not surprisingly, it worked. He unbuttoned his suit, a habit he only does everytime he gets upset.

"This had better not be another incident where you set fire to a footballer's sneakers," my father said without looking at me, and I couldn't help but smile slightly at the memory.

"He was asking for it,"

"Or you destroying six cheerleader outfits,"

"They were asking for it too,"

"I had to pay for what you destroyed,"

"Oh please dad, since when has money been an issue for you?"I asked, and all I got back, was him scoffing.

I didn't expect him to give a reply... I didn't want him to... And I was glad when the door opened and principal Dane walked in, cutting into our conversation. He took a seat on his chair as he turned towards my father.

"Mr. Carlisle, I'm greatly sorry for having called you on such short notice. I'm sure you had a lot of___"

"Just jump straight to the point," my dad was rather straight forward about it. I bet he had to cancel meetings just so he could be here.

But oh well, it's not like he really had to be here... He could hae simply made up an excuse about being out of town on a business trip or whatever. And with how Principal Dane worships my father, he'd have understood.

"My apologies," the principal nervously cleared his throat as he sat straight in his chair, probably trying hard not to crumble under my father's gaze... he wouldn't exactly be the first... my father just seems to have that effect on people. I guess that's one thing we have in common.

"What did she do this time? Another scandal with the cheerleaders?" I'm not surprised that that was his first guess... I think of all the mischief I've done, that one was the one that pissed him off the most.

"Well that's one way to put it," the principal began, and my dad briefly glanced at me, then back at the principal, urging him to continue, "Your daughter got into another fight,"

"Of coursse she did," dad didn't look surprised. But in my defense...

"Well technically, it wasn't a fight dad___"

"She beat up a girl unconscious,"

"Maxine___!"

"Oh come on! You're going to fall for that crap" I couldn't punch Melanie unconscious even if I wanted to!" Thought I have this sick twisted satisfied feeling in my stomach just thinking about it.

"The girl was even rushed to the infi___"

"Melanie is a drama queen! She exaggerated everything! Did I punch her? Of course I did... and I don't regret it at all 'cause she deserved it!"

"Maxine!___"

"But no way in hell did I 'beat her unconcious dad! I, unfortunately, don't have such strong fists,"

"Witnesses say you did," Principle Dane stated, and my father narrowed his eyes at me.

"Well 'witnesses' can go f*ck themselves!" I mumbled under my breath, but by the look dad gave me, I could tell he had heard it... but he chose to let it slide this time.

"I'm sure Maxine didn't mean to hurt the girl___"

"Yes I did,"

"She regrets it all___"

"The only thing I regret is not punching her harder,"

"Maxine__" he said in between gritted teeth. It was clear that I was stretching out his patience more than I should. Maybe I'll give him a break for a while.

Principal Dane went ahead to give a vivid descriptioon of what had supposedly happened. Apparently, I was sitting at the green bench alone during lunch break, like I always do, when Melanie and her friends came, wanting to make peace with me. I, being the arrogant pessimist that everyone says I am, hurled a bunch of insults at them, slapped two of the cheerleaders, and then punched Melanie unconcious. I went ahead to threaten the rest of the cheerleaders saying how I'll end their lives if they were to report to anyone.

Of course the 'witnesses all had different versions of the story... but they all ended with how I punched Melanie unconcious.

This was the version that Principal Dane told my father. And I hae a feeling that the so-called unconscious Melanie was the one who told him that greatly exaggerated story... or she insighted people to tell him, who knows for sure.

"I'd believe that story if it didn't have the whole 'insulting people' part," my father said defensively. But he was right, "She may have punched the girl, but I'm sure she didn't insult or threaten anyone,"

At least he knew me that well.

"Despite the tremendous respect we have for you, your daughter did something wrong. And a lot of people saw it. Keeping her in school under suchcircumstances would only encourage more students to rebel knowing that there won't be conciquences for their actions. And it is for that reason that I am forced to suspend your daughter for three days,"

"Suspend me for three days? But we're going on a Summer break next week,"

"I'm sorry, but your suspension is effective immediately,"he said. And I have no idea if this is the part where I'm supposed to feel bad about it, and maybe make an effort to beg him not to suspend me... but the thought of beginning my Summer break three days earlier than everyone else, actually sounded pretty good to me.

"And I'd suggest taking her to this Summer Camp..." he said, placing a weird looking brochure in front of my father. He took it, and I inwardly prayed that he wasn't actually considering taking me to that cursed camp.

He didn't even take time to glance at it... He simply took the brochure and immediately stashed it in his pocket. A total relief for me because it meant that he wasn't even thinking about it, "You should go check it out. They usually have experience in dealing with people like Maxine,"

"What, like unique people?" it was a question I asked myself... but to avoid prolonging this any further, I keppt it in my head.

"I'll give them a call," dad said getting up... a aclear indication that this conversation was over. I, of course, followed suit.

"Have a lovely summer Miss Carlisle," Principal Dane said behind me. And I wasn't exactly sure if he was being genuine or sarcastically mean. Either way... I was planning to have a blast. It's not everyday you get to go on an early Summer break.

Turns out, it actually pays to be a bad girl.
