Adam's POV
I was in my room reflecting on what transpired today." Oh boy, what a turn of events," I remarked. When my dad proposed that we move to this town, I was against the idea. The fact that I had to change my school and leave my buddies behind was so annoying. But after meeting Lyra, I must admit that this school is becoming interesting. After dropping Lyra off yesterday, I couldn't forget the perfume of her body. Her smile was so innocent, giving her a unique look. I took a peek at her back sides and it was no less perfect than her round melons. She had dark hair and blue eyes like me, and the dimples on her jaw all summed up to make her a perfect beauty.Whenever she was shy or nervous, it kind of turned me on. When I was introduced in class, I was surprised to see a Pure Blood in class. Any werewolf that got the scent of her blood would probably want to drink from her. The whole ride, I was holding back the urge to drink from her, till I finally dropped her home. That is probably why Norman is after her. He is from a very dangerous pack, so the more he hangs around Lyra, the more she is in danger. The south pack pay no heed to rules and their Alpha is a notorious man. I must do anything to keep Lyra from them." Hey Adam are you in there?" My dad's voice echoed at the door." Yes you can come in, the door is open," I replied. My father stepped in, putting on his military attire. It always looked small for his body because of his bulging muscles. He had a serious look on his face, so I knew the matter at hand wasn't a joking matter." Adam, what were you thinking when you interfered with the meal of another wolf? And that too the son of the Alpha of the southern territory?" He asked." She was a Pure Blood," I replied." A Pure Blood?" My father's facial expression became that of shock, but he quickly returned his expression back to being crossed." And so? You just can't interfere in another wolf's meal, you know it's against the rules. I received a warning letter from the Alpha of the southern pack. He threatened to wage a war against the Northern pack if this happens again. And you know what that means." He explained. We are from the Northern pack and my father is the second in command. This means he is a Beta." Before we came here, to the south, Alpha Mike warned us to be careful because we were heading out of our territory, to the southern territory. Alpha Benson is a man not to mess with, you better watch how you interact with his son." He warned." I know interfering with another wolf's prey is against the rules, but what if that prey is no ordinary prey?" I asked. My father looked a little confused as he asked "What do you mean?"" I love the Pure Blood girl and I want to make her my mate." I said.Pure Bloods were special human beings who were born only once in a thousand years. All the Pure Bloods that have lived before have always gone missing, or found in a state where their blood was all dried out. This is because their blood contains special qualities that are of great importance to werewolves. It can instantly heal fatal injuries when consumed. Wolves live a long time, but they cannot live forever. But consuming a Pure Blood's blood can extend their lives." You mean you are in love with a human?"My father asked as he widened his eyes in shock." Yes and even if it means I have to start a war to protect her, so be it." I said firmly. I looked at my father's face and I expected him to have a huge frown on his face, but he was smiling instead. " Right now you sound just like my younger self. Before I could be together with your mother, I had to fight off a lot of her suitors, even from other packs. She was the most beautiful woman in town." He explained." Listen son," he said. " I know love just happens to anyone, then they start doing crazy things, but I want you to keep in mind that there would be consequences for your decisions, so get ready for them. She is a Pure Blood and you know this means more wolves would be coming for her right?" He asked." Yes father, I know, that is why I would have to mark her soon," I said. Marking a mate required biting the female on her neck, to leave a bite mark. It was different from sucking her blood for consumption. It was more of a ritual, carried out when mating. It could only be done once and once it was done, no wolf had the right to claim your mate. So I had to do everything to be the first. With a heavy heart, my father Left my room. I knew he was worried about me, but I had already made my mind up.I closed my eyes and tried to sleep but I couldn't, I kept thinking about Lyra, so I went out to go grab a beer.As I moved down the quiet street, I felt someone following behind me, so I stopped." John, you can come out now and stop the drama." I said." Damn, you always figure it out, but one day I promise I will get you." John said." Yeah, in your dreams." I joked. John approached me and gave me a big old time hug." Nice to see you again man." He said.John is my cousin and also the son of the Alpha of the Northern territory, Alpha Mike." I can't believe you left all the way from the northern territory to be here." I remarked." It was just a thirty minute run though." He said." Still sticking with your old habit of not using cars huh?" I asked." Yeah, I am a hundred times faster than a vehicle, so why do I need one?" He asked." I see, you have a point." I replied." So what brought you here?" I couldn't help but ask." Is it a crime to come see you? But on a serious note, the news of you interfering with the prey of the Alpha's son in the southern territory has spread out like a wildfire throughout the wolf clans. So I came to hear from you myself, you know I hate rumors." He said.Apart from the fact that John almost looked like me, though he was older and he had larger muscles, we both had similar mindsets. We couldn't stand rumors.I took a deep breath and said." Yes it is true. I did it."" You know this could start a war between the northern and southern clans right? Alpha Benson is a very arrogant man and he hates it when someone plays with his pride. But I am sure you had a good reason to do what you did.?" John said, patting me on my back. He had always been a supportive brother." Yes I had a very good reason. The victim was a Pure Blood and I somehow have feelings for her." I said. John's smile grew bigger. He loved this type of news." Woah bro! Have you marked her yet?" He asked." Not yet, but soon I will." I replied. His smile was on his face for a while then it suddenly changed to a serious expression." If she is a Pure Blood, then every wolf would love to taste her blood, even if you mark her." He said." I know, and I would do anything in my power to save her." I replied." Though it will not be an easy task but anytime you need my help, do not hesitate to let me know." He said." I won't," I replied." I know Alpha Mike will have issues with me claiming a human as my mate, so I will need you to convince him for me." I said.My cousin gave me a reassuring smile before saying, " you know I got you bro. He is a tough man to crack, but I will give it all I got." His assurance reduced the stress in me. He always knew how to show up at the right moments." I was going to grab a beer, wanna come?" I asked." Sure, but after that we should head to Wolfrena. I heard the one here is dope and have some cool, powerful fighters." He suggested. The Wolfrena was an underground fighting arena for wolves. At least one was found in all the four territories of the wolf packs. That is the Northern, Southern, Western and Eastern wolf territories. My cousin was a fighter in the Northern territory, so it was no news he was interested in visiting the Wolfrena of the south." Sure let's go," I replied.Lyra's PovAfter the incident between Norman, Adam and I, I couldn't wait to meet Adam in school the next day. I kept turning on my bed as the butterflies in my belly were bugging me.' Oh, we forgot to exchange contacts. How could we have left out such details?' I thought to myself.'But seriously, the ride he gave me back home was quiet and weird. He barely looked at me. Does he even like me? I mean… he sits right next to the beauty queen, Hariette. And compared to her, I am just a… augh!! That cheap slot couldn't wait to take the good things all to herself, could she? What am I even thinking? There is no chance for me to be with Adam. Any chance I had had been seized by this absurd marriage arrangement.' These thoughts and mixed emotions plagued me the whole night until it was morning again, and another day for school.Thank God, my car had been repaired, so everything was back to normal, well…. Kind of.When I arrived at school, I was relieved to see that Norman and his two fri
What had caused Harriette to show up at our table? Well whatever it was, I was ready to turn her down. Hold up…. Adam did it for me.. " i don't think that is a good idea." He frowned, looking at Harriette sternly. .However, Harriette ignored Adam and turned her concentration on me. " Lyra, i know we haven't been on good terms lately, but can we let that go behind us and eat together just this once like old times.. please?" Harriete asked, looking truly sorry for leaving me in my times of need… or so I thought. As naive as I was, I did let her sit with us. Adam was giving me a question. " It's okay," I assured him. After that, our table was filled with an awkward silence. Then all of a sudden, Harriette spoke up " so lyra, have informed Adam about your upcoming wedding?" Boy, did I choke. The food missed the normal route and went straight into my windpipe. I started coughing, helplessly gasping for air. Adam with the look of confusion and shock on his face grabbed a cup of water and
As I walked toward the agreed meeting point with Adam, I couldn't shake off the feeling of relief that the school day was over. The sun was dipping low in the sky and casting a warm golden glow over everything, and I was looking forward to spending time with Adam, who was already standing about thirty meters away, waving at me. "Hey! Over here!"I waved back and quickened my pace, eager to join him.But as I neared Adam, the sound of a car racing up behind me caught my attention."Huh? What's that noise?" I asked myself.I glanced over my shoulder, and to my horror, the car seemed to be closing in on me. Panic flooded through me as I realized it was coming directly behind me. "Oh no! Adam!" I screamed, my heart pounding in my chest, and with a sinking feeling, I closed my eyes and braced myself for impact. I felt like I was frozen in that moment, waiting for the inevitable. But then, just in time, I was pulled away from the road by someone, and both of us tumbled to the ground at th
Few Days agoAs Adam and his cousin John walked through the thick forest towards the Wolf Fighting Arena, they were very excited. The sun had set, making the trees look tall and dark. Both Adam and John looked eager and quickly glanced at each other as they walked.Suddenly, John stopped and looked like he really needed to go to the bathroom. "I need to pee, Adam," he said, looking uncomfortable."Sure, go ahead. I'll keep going and wait for you," Adam said, patting his cousin on the shoulder before continuing on while John went off the path.As Adam walked further into the woods, everything was very peaceful with the sound of leaves rustling and the breeze was whispering through the trees. But then, out of nowhere, two scary-looking wolves jumped out and attacked him. Without hesitation, Adam started changing into a powerful werewolf with glowing red eyes. The two wolves attacking Adam were surprised by his transformation but then they attacked him even more fiercely. Even though Ada
Some Nights Ago..Lyra's POVAs I stepped out into the crisp evening air, I took a deep breath, feeling the tension of the day start to melt away. It was a beautiful night, and the moon hung high in the sky, casting a silvery light over the backyard. I thought it would be the perfect time to take Layla, my golden retriever, for a walk around the neighborhood. As Layla bounded around the yard, her tail wagging furiously, I followed close behind. It felt good to stretch my legs and just enjoy the tranquility of the night. But suddenly, Layla's playful demeanor changed, and she began growling and barking at something in the bushes. I hurried over to see what had caught her attention and peered into the darkness. At first, I couldn't see anything, but then, as my eyes adjusted, I caught a glimpse of something moving. There, in the shadows, was a dark figure with white, glowing eyes. It felt like my heart stopped as I tried to make sense of what I was seeing. It looked like a creature
Lyra's POVI couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Norman standing at the doorway of my birthday party. I hadn't invited him, and yet there he was, a frown on his face as he watched me dance with Adam. I was enjoying the music and the way Adam's hand felt in mine as we moved together, but Norman's sudden appearance made my heart sink.As soon as Norman stepped in, the music came to a halt, and everyone who had been dancing stopped and turned to look at him. Even Sarah, who had been DJing, paused the music, sensing the sudden tension in the room.Norman's expression darkened as he watched me with Adam, and I could see the anger simmering beneath the surface. He forced a smile and greeted me with a curt "hey.""What are you doing here, Norman?" I asked him, knowing full well that I hadn't extended an invitation to him. "I came to wish you a happy birthday,"He replied."Thank you," I told him politely but then asked him to leave, as his presence was not welcome. Norman ignored my request
Lyra's POVI woke up to the sterile scent of the hospital room, the beeping of machines echoing in my ears. I blinked, trying to clear the fog from my mind, only to find my father sitting beside my bed, worry etched into his features. My friends, Sarah and Liah, stood by the window, their eyes red-rimmed. As I struggled to piece together what had happened, Adam entered the room, his presence igniting a surge of conflicting emotions within me."Lyra, honey, thank goodness you're awake. You had an accident," my father began, his voice heavy with concern."Hey, Lyra, we were so worried. You scared us half to death," Sarah said, her voice trembling."Yeah, we've been here since they brought you in. It's been a long night," Liah added, her eyes brimming with unshed tears. As Adam stepped closer, an influx of memories flooded my mind, memories of our recent argument and the pain that had driven us apart. Anger and hurt surged within me, and I turned away, unable to meet his gaze."Lyra, I'm
Adam sat in his boat, gently swaying as the waves lapped against the hull. The sea stretched out before him, its vast expanse mirroring the emotions churning within him. He often sought solace in the gentle rhythm of the waves when the weight of the world pressed down on his heart. As he sat lost in thought, his father approached, his footsteps muffled by the sounds of the sea. "Hey, Adam," he said, his voice warm and gentle. Adam looked up, his eyes reflecting his inner turmoil. "Hi, Dad," he replied, managing a small smile. His father settled down beside him, reaching into the cooler beside him and pulling out a soda. He handed it to Adam, who accepted it with a nod of gratitude. The silence enveloped them for a moment before his father spoke again. "You've been looking pretty down ever since you met Lyra," he observed. "I know she means a lot to you, but you can't let her distract you from the mission."Adam sighed, taking a sip of his soda. "I'm trying, Dad," he said. "It's just.
