Chapter 3 : Reality

They returned to the magnificent mansion, its grandeur standing tall against the horizon. As Suzanne stepped out of the van, a sigh escaped her lips, and her gaze swept across the impressive building.

Everywhere she looked, guards stood watch, their sunglasses concealing their eyes, and earpieces adorning their necks. Firmly gripping their weapons, they diligently patrolled the premises. Each bowed slightly at the sight of their boss.

It was expected. It was a mafia boss' domain. Thus, it should be properly guarded and armed.

The memories of this place flooded Suzanne's mind, downloaded and etched into her consciousness. She knew the lanes, the rooms, the secret rooms, the cells, the underground passage and the locks that opened them. She walked confidently through the manicured lawns, guided by the imprints of her past.

Vince followed closely behind her and their footsteps echoed through the halls until they found themselves in a lavishly furnished ensuite bedroom, dominated by a wide, inviting bed.

Sensing a familiar reflection, Suzanne gravitated towards a mirror, her eyes meeting her own as she studied her appearance.

She was someone else entirely. She wasn't Suzanne Bevan, she was Nalita Rossi. All her features were heightened. As Suzanne, she was darkly beautiful as she had lost her skin colour; her hair was brown and she had a slight contortion on her face due to a scar.

But as Nalita Rossi, there was nothing superfluous about her. Nicely carved and endowed, with her feminine features at max - a narrowed waistline, widened hip, protruded breasts and petite posture.

As she stared at the mirror, Vince's cold hands grabbed her arms and then he wrapped his hands around her chest, camping her in his bosom. "Are you okay?" Vince asked, his voice filled with genuine care.

Suzanne grasped at the touch. This was someone else's husband, a stranger, holding her dearly. She felt like a cheat.

Suzanne slowly turned and offered a small, reassuring smile, her eyes meeting Vince's. "I am okay," she replied softly, her voice tinged with anxiety. The memories she had downloaded provided her with clarity and purpose that anchored her in the present moment.

Vince's worry began to melt away, replaced by a flicker of admiration for Suzanne's resilience. He nodded, understanding the strength she possessed even in the face of uncertainty. "If you think you need medical care, please let me know. I will hire another personal medic. We're in this together, baby." he assured her, his voice brimming with unwavering support.

"Thank you, dear," she replied.

"When did you suddenly become respectful?" Vince asked and spanked her.

Suzanne flinched and then smiled. She knew that she had botched a part of her role. She was going too high in the basics of respect even though she had been imbibed with the senses from Nalita's database.

"It…" she stuttered. "It was the violence. I was close to death, remember?"

Vince squeezed her hand gently, a tender smile playing on his lips. "It will never happen again. I'll protect you no matter what," he vowed, his voice carrying the weight of his commitment.

Suzanne lowered her head and in response, Vince cusped her cheek back up, looking into her face. He motioned for a kiss and Suzanne remained glued to the spot.

As their lips met, Suzanne felt an input of the past entanglement. She felt the kisses, the touches, the suckles on her boobs, Vince's soft palate on her pussy, his thrusts and his moans. All came back to her.

The feeling was strong enough to propel Suzzane towards another. Closing in, Vince stopped and then slapped her behind again, causing Suzzane to wince.

Vince turned towards the bed, picked up his phone and spoke after it connected. "Arturo, make the outposts ready to go to war. Stop all drug businesses now, stop all laundering, stop all transport and deals. We end Vito DiMarco once and for all," Vince said firmly.

"Yes, boss," Arturo's voice came from the other side.

"Also, trust no one at the moment. If Mia could be bought, any of the goons, as well as the leaders of outposts, could. Be careful," Vince advised, concern lacing his words.

"I understand, Boss," Arturo replied, his tone serious, and ended the call.

In the respite that followed, a call came in, and Vince answered it again. "Bring her," he said decisively and ended the call.

Vince controlled the opening of the door with a device, and a maid entered with a kid in her hands. It all came back to Suzanne at that moment. She was a mother, and the kid, Aurora, belonged to her. The chief maid approached and handed Aurora to Suzanne, then quietly left the room.

Name - Aurora Rossi.

Info - Your daughter.

As always, memories with the kid came back to her. Groaning at delivery, the breastfeeding, the coos and the gibberish.

Upon holding her, the girl smiled, revealing her upper two teeth, and babbled in her adorable language. She accidentally spat some liquid in the air, and a tiny droplet landed on Suzanne's face.

As she paced across the room with Aurora in her hands, Suzanne couldn't contain her emotions any longer. She sobbed, and tears rolled down her cheeks, mixing with the droplets on her face.

Natalia Rossi, the actual mother was dead, she was there as a backup. She wondered how and why such an adorable kid could be caught up in the world of crime. Now, that her mother is dead, what would happen if both parents are dead? What future awaits her? A future like she had in Vito's residence.

When she let out tears, the little girl caught the wave of the feeling and whimpered too.

Suzanne gently rocked Aurora, whispering comforting words to her child amidst her tears. "I'm here, my sweet Aurora. I will protect you with everything I have. I promise to shield you from this world of darkness. You deserve a better life, away from all the chaos and danger."

Suzanne's heart ached with a mixture of love and fear even though she wasn't the actual mother. A sudden weight of responsibility settled on her shoulders, and she knew deep down that she would accept motherhood more readily than the housewife and accomplice role.

Vince walked up to Suzzane, his footsteps echoing in the tense silence that enveloped the room. As he reached her, he gently took her hands from behind, his touch both comforting and filled with determination.

Suzanne turned and looked into his eyes. At that moment, she wondered how Nalita would react to the moment. She realised that she was a softer version of Nalita and with time, she knew that she'd cope.

"I know it's hard," Vince said, his voice steady yet laced with emotion, "but we will survive. Together."

Her heart ached, conflicted by the strangeness of their situation. The presence of the baby in her arms served as a constant reminder that their lives were now entwined, bound by something deeper than mere memories or concepts. They were a family, facing challenges together.

Her voice quivered slightly as she voiced the haunting question that had been lingering within her, "What if I had died back there?" She asked, knowing that that was the situation.

Vince's expression softened, "I don't want to think about it," he said, his arms enveloping them both in a warm, reassuring embrace.

Amidst the embrace, a voice, not audible to the outside world, resonated in Suzanne's mind. It was the voice of the system, delivering a new mission, a path that could lead to freedom for their enslaved comrades and a chance to ensure the safety of Aurora.

SYSTEM: You're holding up well, Subject XX 014.

Suzanne cringed. She thought Vince would hear as they were close. But she was glad that he didn't.

SYSTEM: Below are your missions, Subject XX 014.

(1) Be the woman that Nalita had always been to Vince, an accomplice and a wife.

(2) Help him succeed in killing Vito DiMarco and dismantling his sinister enterprise.

(3) Ensure that his sons never continue his cruel trade, and in doing so, rescue your fellow slaves trapped within the confines of his castle.

(4) Lastly, your mission is to ensure the safety of Aurora, to protect her from the clutches of this evil world. She will continue to live to the next phase of your rebirth.

Suzanne's eyes widened as the weight of the missions settled upon her shoulders. It was a formidable task, one that held the promise of liberation but also carried the risk of further danger and sacrifice.

She understood the importance of the mission, the lives at stake, and the urgency of their actions.

Taking a deep breath, Suzanne looked up at Vince, determination burning within her eyes. "We have a mission," she said, her voice steady and resolute. "We will do whatever it takes to end Vito and save our people."

"Yes, dear. Let's end it once and for all," Vince said.

"Yes, once and for all," Suzanne replied.
