Chapter 1: Unexpected moment

"Nalita!" she heard her name as though it was from afar off. Who could it be? She opened her eyes and before her was a man, his heavy cut on the forehead was the first thing she saw, then the beard which was a mix of black, white, and golden hairs, and then the beads of perspiration mixed with blood on his forehead.

"Oh I thought I lost you forever," the man said.

Suzzane stared at the enigmatic figure and wriggled her head to both sides, trying to know where she was; heaven or hell? Or another fantasy world.

Suzanne's head was throbbing as she tried to make sense of her surroundings. The unfamiliar face and the noise around her only added to her confusion. She mustered the strength to sit up, her gaze fixated on the stranger who had called her a name that wasn't hers.

"Who... who are you?" she managed to whisper, her voice trembling.

The man's eyes welled up with tears, his voice choked with emotion. "Nalita, my dear, I thought I lost you forever," he said again, his voice quivering. "I'm so relieved you're alive."

Suzanne searched her memory for any recollection of this man, but her mind drew a blank. It felt as though she slept in one world and woke in another. She wanted to say… "I am Suzanne Bevan, not Nalita."

Before Suzanne could speak further, especially the part that had to do with the strange name, a feminine voice interrupted their conversation. "Boss, I got the call, let me take over from here," she said, her tone confident and determined. "The boys need you outside."

"Thank you, Mia, please ensure she is okay," the man, referred to as boss, said and gave Suzzane a tender kiss on her forehead before stepping out of the van.

Suzanne wanted to avoid the kiss, but it was unexpected. Who is the man called boss? What is she doing here? What is the relationship between them that warranted a kiss?

The door closed, enveloping Suzzane in temporary solitude and leaving her to the care of the strange woman.

She turned her attention to the woman who had just entered, who dropped a first aid kit and opened it, revealing the content.

Suzzane reached out and took the nurse's hand, seeking comfort in her presence. She thought as a woman, they would understand each other. "Please, tell me what's going on," she pleaded. "Who is he? And where am I?"

The nurse's eyes softened with empathy as she sat down beside Suzzane. "You're Nalita Rossi," she began gently. "And you're in the middle of a dangerous situation. We're part of a team fighting against a powerful enemy. There was an explosion, we found you hurt in the head and we barely managed to get you here alive. I hope this restores you."

Suzzane eyes widened as she sat up and looked outside through the window. She glanced towards the burning car and the lifeless bodies strewn across the floor. It became evident to her that she was not in a hospital but in a van.

Fear and confusion overwhelmed her. Again, she wanted to say the word. But instead, she said it to herself. "I am Suzanne Bevan, not Nalita Rossi!"

The nurse sighed, her expression grave. "There's so much to explain, but now is not the right time. Your safety is our priority. Once we get you to a secure location, you'll be free from the shock, regain your memories and fill in the missing pieces. Trust me, Nalita."

As Mia wrapped a bandage around Suzzane's head, her mind began to wander, and flashes of her past flooded her consciousness. It was as if she was watching a movie of her earlier life, a life filled with pain and hardship.

She had been an orphan, passed from one owner to another in the despicable secret trade of slaves until she ended up in the clutches of a ruthless mafia household - Vito DiMarco.

The three sons of the mafia boss had been perverts, taking advantage of the maids in the household. Suzanne remembered that due to her good looks, she was subjected to unspeakable maltreatment, and for six long months, she had endured unimaginable horrors in the household.

Her nightmares included incessant sexes, being stripped and forced to dance naked to entertain, and blowing their cocks to satisfy their sexual pleasures.

But then, in her final moments as a slave, something extraordinary happened. She had protested against the act, had been killed, and right there, on the verge of death, instead of darkness, a voice had spoken to her. It introduced her to the ThreeBirth System, a way to be given another chance at life. The concept seemed almost too fantastical to be true.

Suzanne remembered activating the system and finally embracing death. "I was dead," Suzanne to herself. "It was not an explosion or a heat gash, it was a gunshot to the heart." She placed her hands on her chest and felt her heart. It was beating.

Suzzane closed her eyes, taking a deep breath to calm her racing thoughts. Was it possible? Could she have been reborn? And if so, as whom? Natalia Rossi? Who is she? The questions echoed in her mind, demanding answers.
