Chapter 1

Irina:

I whimpered as I pretended to come undone under the man whose eyes met mine as he finally found his release inside the condom.

He rested his forehead against mine, and I took a deep breath as he pulled out of me, his cock going limp almost instantly. “Are you okay? Did I hurt you?”

“I’m fine,” I said, smiling at him. He leaned in, connecting his lips with mine, and I smiled into the kiss before pushing him off of my body. I had work to take care of, and meddling here wasn’t going to get me anywhere.

“At least spend the night, Rosa, it is already late.” He said, watching as I bent down to pick my pants up. His hand slapped my bum, and I rolled my eyes as I put my clothes on, careful not to have him noticing the pendant that I stole from his necklace.

I slid it inside my pocket before I buttoned them. I bent down again, this time putting my bra on before turning to face him.

“You know that I don’t spend the night, Carlos.” I said, leaning in to kiss him. It was a shame that he had to go this way. He was kind to me. But my duty here was over. There were no means of me being here any more than necessary.

“Alright,” he said, watching as I pulled away. I put my shirt and jacket on before heading to the door where he wrapped his arms around my waist. He pulled me to his chest and kissed my neck from behind, sucking on my sweet spot, clearly hoping to change my mind. He would leave a mark, that was something that I knew for sure. “No?”

I rolled my eyes and he sighed, watching as I opened the door to walk out of the house. I nodded at the two bodyguards who were waiting, knowing that they would finish the task as required before I picked my phone from my purse, dialing his number

“It’s done,” I said, pulling the pendant, a wolf pendant, out of my pocket. Whatever this pendant was, I knew that it was going to set my family free. At least my father’s debt would be paid off, and we would be free of all this.

“I am impressed,”

“Do you want me to bring it over now?” I asked, knowing to keep the hope from my tone.

“No,” he said, calmly. “You bring it over tomorrow. We have a lot to talk about, and there is someone that I would like you to meet. Plus, your mother is going to have something to speak to you about. The two of us can talk tomorrow.”

“Yes, Alpha.” I said, knowing not to question his decision. I took the blonde wig off, throwing it in the nearest bin as he hung up. My eyes landed on the pendant for a second, and I could swear that the emerald for eyes glowed when I looked into it.

“Interesting pendant you have there,” a man said from behind me. His voice sent shivers running down my spine, making my heart race. I tightened my hand around the pendant as I caught his scent, a rogue. A powerful one too.

“Leave me alone, rogue.” I said, and he scoffed. I turned to face him, his dark blue eyes meeting my forest green ones.

“I didn’t even approach you, omega.” He said, winking at me. My heart sank to my stomach as I heard the one insult that I hated most. It was the reality of who I was, the lowest rank within a pack. “What is an omega like you doing with a pendant like that?”

“It doesn’t concern you,” I said, turning around. I put it inside my pocket, knowing that it was the one place that it would be safe, and the man chuckled before standing beside me. “What do you want from me?”

“This is a taxi stop,” he said, nodding at the sign. This was my first time here in Italy, but encountering wolves has been as common as it was standing beside a human, especially here in Rome. “I doubt that it is written in your name? What are you doing here anyway? It’s a bit late for a young woman like yourself.”

“Curious, aren’t you?” I asked, and he smirked.

“A talent.” He said, nodding at a cab that passed by. It was the first to do so at this time of night. “Ladies first,”

“I can find my own ride, I don’t need you to…”

“You were waiting before me,” he said, growing annoyed. “And I doubt that it would be wise for you to keep arguing. I am still stronger than you are, and so are most of the men who are in these corners.”

He opened the cab door for me, not even bothering to wait for my response before handing the cab driver a hundred dollar bill.

“Keep the change and take nothing from her when you’ve dropped her off.” He said, his eyes landing on the love bite that is on my neck. “And you don’t need to tell me that you have your money. Have a nice evening.”

He took a step back, and I watched as he turned to a black car, not even bothering to turn to face me. I got inside the cab, knowing not to have the cab driver take me home. If he was going to follow me, then I would rather not lead him to my house.

However, it wasn’t until I put my hand inside my pocket that my heart dropped.

The man took the pendant…
