Four

Ayo: The sun is for the light, The Moon is for the night, And you are for the rest of my life

Feyi: Yea, no. The rhyming words are amazing but this isn't even cheesy, talk less of cringy.

Ayo: I'm not trying to woo you Fey, trust me. I could do that without the use of the internet 😉. Just showing you horrible pick up lines I found on some lame website

Feyi: Suuurrreee Ay, show me the better ones you can come up with...

Ayo: Alright, get ready to fall into my arms baby.

Feyi: Don't call me baby😬

Ayo: Of course 😂. I have 4 percent battery remaining. I chose to message you. Did I choose wisely?

Feyi: For one, your phone is never below 50, and two, this is more horrible than the first one. Can I get a yes?

Ayo: Nope. It's actually pretty good. Because my phone is on 49 percent and that's as good as it being on 4.

Feyi: Percentage shmercentage, it's still a bad one. Don't tell me this was how you wooed your last girlfriends?😭😭😭

Ayo: What even makes you think I've got a first girlfriend🤣🤣

Feyi: Stop playing with me. You've never dated anyone?🙄

Ayo: Apart from you, no😍

Feyi: You haven't even...nvm. You haven't at least dated one girl, or a guy perhaps 🤷

Ayo: No, eww. I'm as straight as they come.😏 But I really couldn't date anyone.

Feyi: So no one caught your interest?🤔

I didn't get an immediate response so I dropped my phone beside me and snuggled deeper into my blankets. My bedroom door flung open and Ayo walked in. I almost hoped that I screamed but I was used to this by now.

"Break down the door please. I don't like that I get my privacy." I rolled my eyes and he slipped in beside me.

"Shut your saucy mouth you," He turned me on my side and his eyes twinkled.

"Whatever. So you couldn't reply me in text?"

"Nope. Decided to do it in person and give you the juice"

"Oh, so do it then."

"So," he hushed. "The girl I like doesn't have interest in me."

"Who's she? Tell me about her," I widened my eyes in anticipation for the information.

"It's you, she's you." He smiled.

My heart stilled. I blinked rapidly before frowning.

"That's a lie!" I shoved his shoulder and he didn't budge.

"What makes you think so?" He gazed into my eyes softly.

"You'd have told me, right?" I furrowed my brows.

"Nope. Not when you don't feel the same way."

I was totally confused in its entirety. I didn't even know the next thing to say and Ayo watched me silently.

"You've never made it seem like that!" I blurted out after a while.

"Like I said, not when you don't feel the same way. Also, I shouldn't pressure you to like me back." He shrugged his shoulders.

"But are you sure it's me?"

I was hoping silently that he'd say no, that he mistook me for some other girl. He couldn't even like me like that. Best friends should always remain true friends, not like each other!

Just like you did right?

Shut up!

"What?" Ayo asked and I jumped.

Defeat flashed in his eyes and then I realized that he must have been talking to me. And I said shut up.

I moved closer to him. "No no no no, I was thinking out loud."

"Right," he flipped over and faced away from me.

My chest constricted. "Wait Ayo, I didn't even hear what you said. I zoned out." I placed my arm around his waist and hugged his back.

"I figured." He muttered.

"I'm so sorry," tears welled up in my eyes. "I really am."

He flipped back and immediately pulled me to his chest.

"Don't cry baby." He rubbed my back.

"I'm just so sorry. I didn't even realize you were talking to me and then I started talking in my head, and then I didn't even realize that I was thinking out loud and then that made you sad and making you sad just makes me sad. I feel so horrible." I rambled.

"Shush Fey, it's okay. I wasn't sad. Just surprised, then I realized you weren't talking to me. It's okay." He kissed my hair.

I sniffled. "Are you sure?"

"Yes Fey, yes."

"Okay, okay." I buried my face deeper into his chest and inhaled his scent when I wanted to ease my breathing.

"Do you need anything?" He asked after a while when I was sure I had dozed off.

"Nope." I muttered.

"Not even chocolates, or ice cream or pizza?"

"No? Why are you asking?"

"You're not having cramps?" I raised my head and cocked a brow.

"What makes you think so?" He scratched the back of his neck. "You didn't!"

"I didn't hack into your phone. I just saved yours on mine." He looked around.

"You saved my cycle on your phone?" A smile threatened to break out of my face.

"Yes. I- uhn saved it."

"For what?"

"Just for knowing."

"That's why you asked if I had cramps. You want to baby me."

"Something like that. I was going with the option of being there for you, but okay." He smiled and my heart warmed.

"Aww thank you." I threw myself on top  him and he hugged me .

"Oh." I climbed back down onto the bed.

"Stop it. Stop making things awkward." He faced me.

"I'm not-" he stared blankly. "okay, fine. I won't."

"Now give daddy a hug." He grinned.

"No, eww." I tried to run but he grabbed me and pulled me into him. "I tried to scream, but my head was under water." I muffled into his shirt.

He tilted my head up and moved his face closer to mine. I held my breath as he then rubbed his nose on mine before placing it there. He stared deep into my eyes.

"You're very beautiful tea." He rumbled.

"You always say so." I hushed.

"I'm always honest. You're really really beautiful." He moved his head to the crook of my neck and inhaled. "And you smell great too. Like cocoa butter and coconuts."

"Thank you." My breath hitched.

He brought his arms around me and snuggled more into my neck. He tangled our legs together under the blanket.

"Ayo," I called out softly.

He rumbled and placed a kiss on my cheek. "Yes?"

"I like you too."
