“Feyi Feyi Feyi.” My door slammed shut and I jumped from the impact. Ayo’s tall body slammed unto my bed and I almost fell off.

“What the heck?” I pulled out my earphones and glared at Ayo.

He smiled cheekily and pulled my cheeks. I quickly tugged my face away and almost cried from the pain that flared the area. “I missed you.”

“You saw me an hour ago!” I exclaimed and rubbed my hand across my face.

Lord help me with this boy.

“And I miss you already!” He pouted.

“Yes of course, why are you such a baby?”

“I’m only your baby. ‘Girl you’re so beautiful to meeee, can’t you seeee’” He belted out the Tiktok sound and wiggled his brows.

“Stop it.” I drawled in annoyance, not missing the skip in the beating of my heart.

Ayo had been more touchy feely the past few days. It could just be him playing around but my heart wasn’t playing around skipping around all the time. And my stomach, the home of the butterflies wasn’t relenting either, Ayo would grab my hands randomly, kiss them or sometimes kiss my cheek. My skin prickled with heat every time he did it and his face didn’t show any emotion when he did, or he would just smile and I would look away or focus on pulling at my cloth or twirling my braids awkwardly.

“I’m not even doing anything.” He rolled his eyes.

“Oh,” I raised my brows. “What do you want now?”

“To hang out.”

“We do that every day. Thank you, next.”

“How about we try uhm, painting?” His eyes twinkled. “I have some paint at home. Well mum’s but she wouldn’t mind.”

“I do not have nice colour appreciation…what’s that called?” I snapped my fingers around.

“Colour co-ordination.” He smiled.

“Yea, whatever. That.” I got up from the bed and headed to my closet. I pulled out my bonnet and turned back to my bed finding Ayo discreetly dropping his gaze away from me. I looked at myself and found my shirt ridden up with my navel piercing in show.

I tugged at my shirt and pulled it back down. “What are you looking at?”

“Mm,” he rumbled and looked back at me, his gaze swiftly dropping back to my navel where my shirt now covered it up. “My phone?” He raised his phone.

I narrowed my eyes at him. “What did you see on my stomach when you looked at it?”

He flushed, “I didn’t-.”  The look on my face shut him up. “I just noticed that you have a navel piercing.” He pointed in my direction and waved his index finger in a circular motion.

“And what about it?” I smirked.

“Nothing, nothing.” His lips dipped.

“Just don’t think I didn’t notice you flush.” I ambled towards the bed.

He glanced away from me and back at his phone when I climbed on the bed.

“I didn’t even take as much of a glance as I’d have wanted.” He winked.

“So you want to see?” I batted my eyelashes.

“You want to show me?” He tilted his head in question.

“Just picture what you saw and paint it!” I grabbed his phone and quickly ran out of the house and into his compound. I ran to the back of the house and sat against the wall breathing heavily.

“Why’d you run? I took my gracious time and didn’t search for you anywhere except here. We grew up in this place here gurl.” Ayo appeared in front of me and sat down cross-legged facing me touching our knees together.

I glared at him. “Thought you’d be smart enough to recreate our childhood memory of you snatching my candy and running all the way to the other house.” I crossed my arms across my chest.

“I’m sorry Fey, don’t be mad.” He pouted.

I didn’t think he’d ever notice what calling me Fey does to me. But I should have known, or remembered that we could read each other inside and out. He had been using this to his advantage and it didn’t affect me now as much as it used to.

“I’m not mad.” I raised a brow.

He slipped his hand into the pocket of his pants and brought out a pack of Twix to which my gaze zoned in on. Ayo opened the packet and brought the bar to his lips while staring at me. He raised his brows and I shook my head and turned to his phone that was in my hand.

He tapped me and when I looked at him, there was chocolate all over his lips and he licked them clean, almost teasingly.

“Want some?” He looked into my eyes.

“Obviously! It’s my favorite chocolate.” I rolled my eyes.

“And I got you yours right here.” He pointed at the same pack he ate from. “Have it.”

I ignored the fact that he had eaten from it and bit into it with my eyes, satisfaction etched in my mind and I sighed happily.

I opened my eyes to find Ayo look at me weirdly and I raised a brow.

“What, it’s not your first time watching me eat chocolate,”

“Yes, but you uhn…sighed?”

“And so? What’s different about that?”

“Forget it Fey,” He stood up and held his hands out to me.

I grabbed it and he swiftly pulled me up and I began walking towards his house.

“You might want to dust off the back off your shorts!” He yelled from behind me.

“You might want to stop checking out my butt!” I turned around and in fact confirmed my assumption.

Ayo was ‘secretly’ staring at my bottom and he hadn’t noticed me look back at him or talk for that matter, and so I did the smartest thing to do, I wiped off the dust with my hand.

His head snapped up and he turned to look at the mango tree far away to the left corner of his house.

“Think we should pluck some mangoes?” He asked with a smile tugging at his lips.

“How about we head to the store and get you a peach?” I asked with my brows raised.

His brows furrowed together. “What?”

“Never mind!” I yelled and walked into the house grinning softly to myself.
