CAMILLA'S POV
The rain was pouring heavily. I rode my bike slowly, making my way home.
I had gone for a short ride a few hours ago when the weather was still good, but the rain had crept up on me.
I had to get back home to make dinner, so I had no choice but to make the dangerous journey home in the pouring rain.
I rode my bike slowly while trying my best to keep my eyes focused on the road.
I was just a few miles away from my home when I hit something. Or rather, someone.
My heart sank to my stomach as I climbed down from my bike.
I was shaking with fear as I prayed for the person I hit to be okay.
I walked over to the person lying on the floor, and I was shocked to see a small body lying on the floor. It looked like a child.
I was even more scared now.
I knelt on the floor as I helped the child stand up.
I carried the child in my arms, thinking that the child had fainted.
Just then, the child opened her eyes. I was shocked at how blue her eyes were. It was almost as blue as mine.
"Are you okay?" I asked the young girl, who was shivering in my arms.
Her clothes were soaked, and she was wet and cold. I could tell that she had been walking in the rain for a long time.
Where were her parents?
"Hello. Are you okay? Where are your parents?"I asked again when the kid did not say anything.
Was she too shocked to speak?
"You need to tell me where your parents are so I can get you back to them!" I said to the kid.
I no longer cared about my dinner. I just wanted to make sure this kid was fine. Somehow, I felt a sense of responsibility towards her. I have to keep her safe.
Still, the kid did not say anything. I looked up. The rain was increasing. Both of us could not continue to stay out here in the rain.
"I am going to take you back to my house and get you all warmed up. Then, you can
tell me who your parents are and where we can find them, okay?" I asked the kid.
She still didn't say anything. I sighed. "Okay. I'm going to take that as a yes. Let's get you home first," I said to the kid.
I stood up with the girl in my arms. Suddenly, the kid threw her arms around me and hugged me tight.
At that moment, I felt a connection to the kid. It was strange since I had never met this kid before, but something in me just wanted to keep her safe.
......
Two hours later, the kid and I were all dried up. I gave the girl one of my shirts that turned into a gown on her small body.
"What happened to you? Where are your parents, and why were you in the rain alone?" I asked the kid again.
I didn't hold much hope that she would answer me. Since she had not said anything the first time, I sighed.
"I need to know who your parents are so that I can take you home. Don't you want to get back to your mom and dad? Don't you miss your mommy?" I asked the kid.
The kid took my hand just then and started to write on my palm with her fingers.
I was confused for a second before I realised what was going on. The kid could not talk!
That was why she never answered any of my questions! I felt sorry for the kid! How can such a beautiful girl not be able to talk?
I focused on what she was writing on her finger. It was just two words.
"No"
"No? You don't miss your mommy?" I asked her.
The kid shook her head. I sighed. I wanted to ask questions, but I didn't want to pressure a kid who could not speak.
"Okay. Here's what we are going to do. I am sure your parents must be losing their minds looking for you. I would have taken you to look for your parents, but I don't know where to find them, and it's raining heavily. We can't go looking in the rain, so you'll have to spend the night here with me. Is that okay with you?" I asked the kid.
The kid nodded her head and smiled happily. It was clear that she liked this suggestion.
I smiled too at the kid. "Okay. I will make dinner for the both of us, and when we've had dinner, we are going to have fun, okay? There is this game I used to play with my mom. Do you want to play it with me?" I said to her. It was a game I liked when I was young. I had a feeling she would like it too.
She nodded her head excitedly again. I smiled. I could not remember the last time I was so happy to spend time with someone. And it was a kid.
....
About an hour later, we had both eaten dinner.
Both of us sat on the floor as we played a game.
The kid looked like she was having a lot of fun because she was more cheerful than before.
Suddenly, the kid looked up at me and smiled at me. I was stunned by her smile. I felt as if I had seen this smile somewhere else before, but I could not remember where.
Anyway, I felt happy to spend time with the kid, and I was already bonding slowly with her.
I could not help but think of the next day when I would have to pass the kid over to her real parents. I was sure going to miss her.
.....
I was still in bed when I heard someone pounding on my door.
I opened my eyes groggily. I usually don't have visitors, so I wondered who could be there.
I looked over at the kid I brought home yesterday. She was still sleeping peacefully.
I walked over to her door and opened it. To my greatest surprise, my entire house was now surrounded by bodyguards! Royal bodyguards!
I gasped when I saw them. "Who....who are you?" I asked in fear.
Just then, a man walked out from behind the bodyguards and stood in front of me.
"I know that you have my daughter. Where is she?" He asked me.
ADRAIN The woman in front of me blinked her eyes as she took me in. I could see the recognition in her eyes. She knows that I am the crown prince. Adrian Rossi. Her eyes went wide as she took me in. "You...you are the crown prince!" She said to me.I rolled my eyes. Of course. She was probably one of those women who wanted to use my daughter to get closer to me. How did she even find Isabella? I had been looking for my daughter since the previous night. As I was the crown prince, I could not help but think that someone had taken her to get back at me. Immediately after I found out that she had spent the night in the house of a commoner woman, I brought my guards to take my daughter back from her. So many women had tried to use my daughter to get close to me before. It seemed that this woman wasn't much different, considering the awed look on her face. "Did you hear what I said? Where is my daughter?" I asked her, drawing her back to the present. "Your...your daughter?" She wa
ADRAIN You need to be careful around strangers! She could have kidnapped you and sold you away! Why didn't you ask her to bring you to the palace?" I asked my daughter. She suddenly grabbed her writing pad that was on the bed and started to write on it. I sighed. When, at two years old, my daughter still hadn't said a word, I took her to the doctor, who told me that she was fine. She just chose not to speak. Now, at five, she still refused to say anything. But she was a genius. She learned how to write at a young age.She held up the writing pad for her. "What?! You want her to be your nanny?" I asked my daughter in shock. She nodded her head as she smiled at me. "But... you don't even know her! Why do you want her to be your nanny?" I asked her. She started writing on the pad again. "Because she's mommy!" Isabella wrote. I was shocked to hear this. My daughter had never called anyone else mummy since my fiance died and left her for me. Although there are lots of women who h
CAMILLA I had just gotten off work. I walked to my house slowly. I was still in shock over what happened this morning, but I was trying my best to forget it. How could I have saved the daughter of the crown prince if I did not even know that it was her? And why did I refuse to take anything from the crown prince when he asked me if I wanted anything? I knew that he would have given me a large sum of money as payment for saving his daughter if I had asked for it. But my pride got in the way, and I did not ask for anything. After he had gone, I started to regret that decision. I could really use a large sum of money. My family was struggling, and the amount I earned from my job each month was not enough for us to survive. I desperately needed another source of income, and I had been trying to get a second job but hadn't found anything yet. Why did I turn away such a good opportunity to make a lot of money? It is true that I did save the girl because I wanted to save her and I fe
ADRAIN I stood by my car as I watched her load up the back of the car with her clothes. I had watched her pack all of the belongings that she had just twenty minutes ago. I could see that she did not have a lot of stuff. I had no idea why I felt sorry for her. I had never been a sentimental person. So why do I feel bad that she's probably been living a hard life before this? "Hurry up! We need to get back to the palace as soon as possible."I said to her. She was having trouble putting her bag in the car. I shook my head and rolled my eyes. Then I walked over to her and helped her put her bag in the boot. She turned to face me, and her face hit my chest. I was stunned when it happened. Her scent immediately attacked my nostrils. I had never liked the perfume that most women used. In fact, it irritated me. But I just wanted to sniff Camilla all day. I felt that if I did it, it would make her run away from me, so I held myself back. We were both in that position for a few seco
CAMILLAI blinked my eyes as I looked at the prince in shock. Did he just ask me to get married to him? "Are you ....drunk your Highness?" I asked him. That was the only explanation I could think of for this. He had to be drunk. Adrian looked at me like I was crazy. "What?!" He asked me. "I think you may be drunk Your Highness. It's late and I think you should go to bed.... tomorrow....you'll realize that you just made a mistake" I said. He shook his head. "Why would you think I am drunk?" He asked me. "You just asked me to marry you? I am just Isabella's tutor....." I didn't finish what I was saying before he interrupted me. "I know you're her tutor. And she's attached to you. She even calls you her mother. She has never been so close to any other female before. You're the first. So it won't be a bad thing for us to get married. You can be her real mother then" Adrian said. I frowned. So he was offering to marry me just for his daughter's sake? I could not help but feel offen
ADRIANI looked at Camilla's serious face. I could tell she was seriously considering it. I hoped that she would accept to get married to me. She was the only one I knew who would agree to get married to me and get a divorce in two years without trying to play some other tricks. All of the women around me would do anything and everything to get married to me and to keep their position as Queen. I didn't want to deal with that drama."You're sure we are going to get a divorce in two years and go our separate ways? " She asked me. I nodded my head when she asked this. "Of course, I will let you go," I said. I couldn't help but be upset. Did she want to get away from me that much? Was she not attracted to him even in the slightest? I didn't know why I cared about this. I should be happy that she seemed not to care about who I was but I was bothered. How couldn't she like me at all?!"And when we get a divorce, I will give you a lot of compensation. I'd make sure as the former quee
ADRIAN"You are just going to get married the way they told you to? You know that you getting married is just their way of controlling you right? You can't fall for this. You need to stand your ground and let them know that you can't be pushed around!" Drake said. "If I don't get married, they are just going to tell me that I can't become the king because I refused to get married. I am going to get married. The only way they can control me is if my wife is someone that they can control. I am not going to be that stupid of course. I am going to marry someone they don't know. And someone they can't control for sure!" I said. Camilla seemed like a woman who has a lot of pride and backbone. She would not betray me so easily. Drake nodded his head. He seemed to understand what I was talking about. "That's great then. Do you already have a person in mind?" He asked. "Yes. I already spoke to her about it. So you should be getting prepared for the marriage now!" I said. Since I was gett
Camila's POVA knock on my door jolted me awake. I sat up in bed, looking at my bedside clock, realizing it was fifteen minutes before I was to wake up. The knock came again and I wondered who it was very early this morning. I walked over to the door as I tied my robe. I pulled the door open and I came face to face with Adrian who was staring down at me with crossed arms. "Your Highness…" I bowed my head. "What do you want from me this early morning, sir?" He handed me a black folder and I pulled it open, it was the contract I asked him to draft for us. "I brought the contract to you." He said and I looked up at him in disbelief. "It's 5 am in the Dawn, your highness." I pointed out and he just shrugged. "Are you trying to get me to read it while I'm still sleepy so you can take advantage of me through the contract, and add additional details we didn't agree on?""I'm not asking you to sign it standing on the spot so I guess I am being accused falsely here, young woman." He replied
