ADRAIN
You need to be careful around strangers! She could have kidnapped you and sold you away! Why didn't you ask her to bring you to the palace?" I asked my daughter.
She suddenly grabbed her writing pad that was on the bed and started to write on it.
I sighed. When, at two years old, my daughter still hadn't said a word, I took her to the doctor, who told me that she was fine. She just chose not to speak.
Now, at five, she still refused to say anything. But she was a genius. She learned how to write at a young age.
She held up the writing pad for her.
"What?! You want her to be your nanny?" I asked my daughter in shock.
She nodded her head as she smiled at me.
"But... you don't even know her! Why do you want her to be your nanny?" I asked her.
She started writing on the pad again. "Because she's mommy!" Isabella wrote.
I was shocked to hear this. My daughter had never called anyone else mummy since my fiance died and left her for me.
Although there are lots of women who have tried to get close to Isabella, she never liked any one of them. And she never took the initiative to call any one of them mummy.
I could not help but be curious about who this woman was. Just how did she get my closed-off daughter to like her in just one night?
"I am sorry, but I can't let her be your nanny. I don't even know who she is, and I don't know if she has any ulterior motives for getting close to you."I said.
I still do not completely believe that it was a coincidence that she just happened to find Isabella in the rain yesterday. What was she doing out in that weather?
Isabella threw her writing pad on the bed and folded her hands across her chest. I could tell that she was angry.
"Don't be angry, Isabella. I just want to make sure that you're fine. We don't know who that woman is, and she may just be planning on using you!" I said.
She picked up the writing pad and started to write again.
"I don't care! I want her as my nanny because she's my mommy! Let her stay in the palace!" Isabella wrote.
I sighed. I couldn't say no to my daughter. I always gave in to her.
And that is why, even though I still did not trust that woman, I was willing to hire her to be my daughter's nanny if that was going to make her happy.
I will just have to keep an eye on her and find out just who she is.
.....
When I walked out of Isabella's room, Drake, my most trusted bodyguard and right-hand man, was waiting for me.
"Find out all that you can about that woman who saved Isabella. You said her name was Camilla, right?" I asked Drake.
After I had taken Isabella away, Drake had stayed behind to ask her what she wanted, but she had refused to take anything from him.
I could not help but be confused about the kind of woman she was.
Either she's aiming for something more, or she's just a genuinely kind person.
Unfortunately, I no longer believed that they were the most genuinely kind people in the world. I felt that everyone just wanted something from each other.
"Why do you want to know about her? I already asked her, and she said that she did not want anything."Drake said.
Drake and I were close friends, so we did not need to be polite to each other.
"Isabella wants her as her nanny," I said with a sigh.
"What?! How is this possible? We don't even know who she is!" Drake said.
"You know how Isabella gets when she wants something. She will stop at nothing to get it, and she won't talk to me if I don't get that woman as her nanny. Besides, do you know what else happened? She called her mommy! My daughter had never called anyone else mummy before. I am really curious about that woman. How did she share so much with my daughter in just one night that she even calls her her mother now? Find out all you can about her, and I also think that acting in the palace as Isabella's nanny will help us find out more about her!" I said.
Drake sighed. "You have already decided, and I won't be able to talk you out of this, right?" He asked me.
I smiled. He just knew me so well.
Besides, everyone knows that I listen to my daughter. As long as she wants something, I will do everything that I can to give it to her.
So, of course, I can get her the nanny of her choice.
"Do you need me to go talk to her?" Drake asked.
I shook my head. "No, I will go talk to her myself. She won't be able to say no to me," I said. I had not been able to remove the image of her face from my mind all day. I had a feeling that I had seen her before, but I just could not remember where I had seen her before.
Maybe if I see her again, I will remember where I know her from.
.....
I stood in front of Camilla's house, pacing up and down. I was tired of waiting for her, but I did not want to leave without getting her to be my daughter's nanny.
Just then, I saw her coming. I smiled as I leaned against her door.
Her eyes went wide as she saw me. She walked over quickly.
"Your....Your Highness, what are you doing here?" She asked me.
"Drake told me that you refused to take anything from him. Why? You could have asked for all the money that you wanted since you saved my daughter."
CAMILLA I had just gotten off work. I walked to my house slowly. I was still in shock over what happened this morning, but I was trying my best to forget it. How could I have saved the daughter of the crown prince if I did not even know that it was her? And why did I refuse to take anything from the crown prince when he asked me if I wanted anything? I knew that he would have given me a large sum of money as payment for saving his daughter if I had asked for it. But my pride got in the way, and I did not ask for anything. After he had gone, I started to regret that decision. I could really use a large sum of money. My family was struggling, and the amount I earned from my job each month was not enough for us to survive. I desperately needed another source of income, and I had been trying to get a second job but hadn't found anything yet. Why did I turn away such a good opportunity to make a lot of money? It is true that I did save the girl because I wanted to save her and I fe
ADRAIN I stood by my car as I watched her load up the back of the car with her clothes. I had watched her pack all of the belongings that she had just twenty minutes ago. I could see that she did not have a lot of stuff. I had no idea why I felt sorry for her. I had never been a sentimental person. So why do I feel bad that she's probably been living a hard life before this? "Hurry up! We need to get back to the palace as soon as possible."I said to her. She was having trouble putting her bag in the car. I shook my head and rolled my eyes. Then I walked over to her and helped her put her bag in the boot. She turned to face me, and her face hit my chest. I was stunned when it happened. Her scent immediately attacked my nostrils. I had never liked the perfume that most women used. In fact, it irritated me. But I just wanted to sniff Camilla all day. I felt that if I did it, it would make her run away from me, so I held myself back. We were both in that position for a few seco
CAMILLAI blinked my eyes as I looked at the prince in shock. Did he just ask me to get married to him? "Are you ....drunk your Highness?" I asked him. That was the only explanation I could think of for this. He had to be drunk. Adrian looked at me like I was crazy. "What?!" He asked me. "I think you may be drunk Your Highness. It's late and I think you should go to bed.... tomorrow....you'll realize that you just made a mistake" I said. He shook his head. "Why would you think I am drunk?" He asked me. "You just asked me to marry you? I am just Isabella's tutor....." I didn't finish what I was saying before he interrupted me. "I know you're her tutor. And she's attached to you. She even calls you her mother. She has never been so close to any other female before. You're the first. So it won't be a bad thing for us to get married. You can be her real mother then" Adrian said. I frowned. So he was offering to marry me just for his daughter's sake? I could not help but feel offen
ADRIANI looked at Camilla's serious face. I could tell she was seriously considering it. I hoped that she would accept to get married to me. She was the only one I knew who would agree to get married to me and get a divorce in two years without trying to play some other tricks. All of the women around me would do anything and everything to get married to me and to keep their position as Queen. I didn't want to deal with that drama."You're sure we are going to get a divorce in two years and go our separate ways? " She asked me. I nodded my head when she asked this. "Of course, I will let you go," I said. I couldn't help but be upset. Did she want to get away from me that much? Was she not attracted to him even in the slightest? I didn't know why I cared about this. I should be happy that she seemed not to care about who I was but I was bothered. How couldn't she like me at all?!"And when we get a divorce, I will give you a lot of compensation. I'd make sure as the former quee
ADRIAN"You are just going to get married the way they told you to? You know that you getting married is just their way of controlling you right? You can't fall for this. You need to stand your ground and let them know that you can't be pushed around!" Drake said. "If I don't get married, they are just going to tell me that I can't become the king because I refused to get married. I am going to get married. The only way they can control me is if my wife is someone that they can control. I am not going to be that stupid of course. I am going to marry someone they don't know. And someone they can't control for sure!" I said. Camilla seemed like a woman who has a lot of pride and backbone. She would not betray me so easily. Drake nodded his head. He seemed to understand what I was talking about. "That's great then. Do you already have a person in mind?" He asked. "Yes. I already spoke to her about it. So you should be getting prepared for the marriage now!" I said. Since I was gett
Camila's POVA knock on my door jolted me awake. I sat up in bed, looking at my bedside clock, realizing it was fifteen minutes before I was to wake up. The knock came again and I wondered who it was very early this morning. I walked over to the door as I tied my robe. I pulled the door open and I came face to face with Adrian who was staring down at me with crossed arms. "Your Highness…" I bowed my head. "What do you want from me this early morning, sir?" He handed me a black folder and I pulled it open, it was the contract I asked him to draft for us. "I brought the contract to you." He said and I looked up at him in disbelief. "It's 5 am in the Dawn, your highness." I pointed out and he just shrugged. "Are you trying to get me to read it while I'm still sleepy so you can take advantage of me through the contract, and add additional details we didn't agree on?""I'm not asking you to sign it standing on the spot so I guess I am being accused falsely here, young woman." He replied
ADRIAN'S POV"Your majesty, you can't marry that lady." The prime minister said as i sat comfortably on my chair. I looked at him with a raised eye brow."And why can I not marry the woman I love?" I asked him and he looked around to see everyone at the table supporting him with a slight nod. "We can't have a commoner be our queen Your Majesty. It is in the rules of the kingdom…""Then we can just change the rules. Do not forget I am the king. I make the rules and change the rules to fit the benefit of the kingdom and I know Camila is the best queen we can have in this kingdom." I replied. "You can't do this, Adrian. My daughter will benefit your kingdom and the bond between our two kingdoms. Seat of Rossi and Seat of Trace will benefit a lot from each other if this marriage between you and Eliza goes on." King Trace tried to explain to me and I knew well they all just wanted to manipulate my seat of power for his selfish reasons best known to him."Maybe she can be of very good use
ADRIAN'S POVThe preparation of the wedding and coronation was going by very fast and everyone in the palace seemed to be so busy with one thing or the other. I barely saw Camila and Isabella because they were always busy choosing decorations or fitting the wedding dress. I watched as Isabella was glad because I would be getting married to Camila but it made my heart ache knowing it was all fake and an act so I wouldn't get married to Eliza. I still couldn't get her mother out of my heart and just saying her name alone still brought a great ache to my heart. "Your majesty, you have a guest," Drake said, making me turn to look back at the door. "Who is it?" I asked and just then, Xander, my younger brother walked in with his hands perfectly tucked in his pockets. "Ohh, it's him.""Oh come on brother. Do not act like you're not excited to see me." Xander, my younger brother walked over to me, throwing his arm over my shoulders. "I heard my big bro is finally moving on and getting mar
