CAMILLA
I had just gotten off work. I walked to my house slowly. I was still in shock over what happened this morning, but I was trying my best to forget it.
How could I have saved the daughter of the crown prince if I did not even know that it was her?
And why did I refuse to take anything from the crown prince when he asked me if I wanted anything?
I knew that he would have given me a large sum of money as payment for saving his daughter if I had asked for it. But my pride got in the way, and I did not ask for anything.
After he had gone, I started to regret that decision. I could really use a large sum of money.
My family was struggling, and the amount I earned from my job each month was not enough for us to survive.
I desperately needed another source of income, and I had been trying to get a second job but hadn't found anything yet.
Why did I turn away such a good opportunity to make a lot of money? It is true that I did save the girl because I wanted to save her and I felt a connection to her, but I won't ever see her again anyway.
Why didn't I just take the money?
I was dumbstruck when I arrived at my house and saw the crown prince waiting for me just outside my house.
My heart pounded fast against my chest as I wondered what he could have been here for. I wondered if there was something wrong with Isabella. Did she get sick because I gave her something that she wasn't supposed to eat? Am I going to get in trouble for that?
I rubbed my palms together as I approached him.
"What...what can I do for you, Your Highness?" I asked Adrian.
Adrian turned to face me.
"Where have you been? I have been waiting for you for over an hour!" He said to me.
I blinked my eyes in shock. Am I supposed to tell him where I went?
Yet, there was an edge in his voice that made me want to obey him.
"I.....I was at work," I said weakly.
Maybe because he was the crown prince, he placed a lot of pressure on me. "Let's go inside to talk,"
Adrian said. I could not say no, even if I wanted to, so I let him into my house.
"What do you want?" I asked him as he sat down.
Adrian looked at my face calmly. "I want you to be my daughter's nanny!" He said.
"What?!" I screamed out. I had thought of a lot of scenarios in my head, but I had never expected something like this.
He wants me to be his daughter's nanny! Why?!
"For some reason that I can't understand, my daughter seems to have been charmed by you. She wants you to be her nanny. So I am here to offer you a deal. You can quit your job and come live in the palace as her nanny," he said to me.
I looked at Adrian carefully as I considered what he had told me.
I really liked Isabella. And I would really love to work as Isabella's nanny. It would mean that I would get to see Isabella every day. It sounded like a win-win opportunity to me. But I could not help but feel as if something was wrong.
I had a feeling that she was walking into a dangerous situation if I agreed to go to work as the nanny of this man.
"Why...why should I work for you?" I asked him. I was really scared. His presence was putting a lot of pressure on me, but I tried my best not to show it.
"You seem to be getting it wrong here. You won't be working for me. You'll be working for my daughter. Is that okay with you?" He asked me. "
Yeah, I just want to know why it has to me. You can always get a more qualified nanny for the princess. I have never been a nanny before. I don't know the first thing about working as a nanny. You can get someone who is more qualified. Why does it have to be me?" I asked him.
"Like I told you, my daughter wants you. I don't care if you are qualified or not. The important thing is that you seem to have done a good job with her last night. She really likes you," Adrian said to me.
I was still sceptical about this. I didn't think it was a good idea.
"Yesterday, we just clicked. She was in the rain, and I helped her so...
""So click with her again. She wants you, and whatever my daughter wants, she gets!" Adrian said.
I frowned. I didn't know if it was a good idea to raise Isabella with the idea that she could get whatever she wanted, but she wasn't my daughter. So I can't give any advice.
"I don't think..."
"I am going to pay you $50,000 a month if you are her nanny. Plus, there are other benefits that you'll get if you manage to do a good job! " He said to me.
My mouth fell wide open when I heard this. $50,000 was more than enough for me and my family! And he was going to pay me this every month! Of course, I wanted it!
"So? Tell me. Have you made up your mind?" He asked me.
I looked up at him. "You don't really think I'm going to reject such an offer, Your Highness?". I asked him.
He smiled at me. "Of course. I know that you won't reject me. Pack up your things; you are to start today. You will be leaving the palace from now on," he said to me.
"But don't you think that it's a bit too early? I need some time to prepare. "I don't see what you need to prepare for. You are to start today. Also, you had better not have any ulterior motives towards my daughter. You are only to be her nanny. Is that clear?" He asked me.
I looked at him in the eye. "Yes. It's clear!" I said to him:
ADRAIN I stood by my car as I watched her load up the back of the car with her clothes. I had watched her pack all of the belongings that she had just twenty minutes ago. I could see that she did not have a lot of stuff. I had no idea why I felt sorry for her. I had never been a sentimental person. So why do I feel bad that she's probably been living a hard life before this? "Hurry up! We need to get back to the palace as soon as possible."I said to her. She was having trouble putting her bag in the car. I shook my head and rolled my eyes. Then I walked over to her and helped her put her bag in the boot. She turned to face me, and her face hit my chest. I was stunned when it happened. Her scent immediately attacked my nostrils. I had never liked the perfume that most women used. In fact, it irritated me. But I just wanted to sniff Camilla all day. I felt that if I did it, it would make her run away from me, so I held myself back. We were both in that position for a few seco
CAMILLAI blinked my eyes as I looked at the prince in shock. Did he just ask me to get married to him? "Are you ....drunk your Highness?" I asked him. That was the only explanation I could think of for this. He had to be drunk. Adrian looked at me like I was crazy. "What?!" He asked me. "I think you may be drunk Your Highness. It's late and I think you should go to bed.... tomorrow....you'll realize that you just made a mistake" I said. He shook his head. "Why would you think I am drunk?" He asked me. "You just asked me to marry you? I am just Isabella's tutor....." I didn't finish what I was saying before he interrupted me. "I know you're her tutor. And she's attached to you. She even calls you her mother. She has never been so close to any other female before. You're the first. So it won't be a bad thing for us to get married. You can be her real mother then" Adrian said. I frowned. So he was offering to marry me just for his daughter's sake? I could not help but feel offen
ADRIANI looked at Camilla's serious face. I could tell she was seriously considering it. I hoped that she would accept to get married to me. She was the only one I knew who would agree to get married to me and get a divorce in two years without trying to play some other tricks. All of the women around me would do anything and everything to get married to me and to keep their position as Queen. I didn't want to deal with that drama."You're sure we are going to get a divorce in two years and go our separate ways? " She asked me. I nodded my head when she asked this. "Of course, I will let you go," I said. I couldn't help but be upset. Did she want to get away from me that much? Was she not attracted to him even in the slightest? I didn't know why I cared about this. I should be happy that she seemed not to care about who I was but I was bothered. How couldn't she like me at all?!"And when we get a divorce, I will give you a lot of compensation. I'd make sure as the former quee
ADRIAN"You are just going to get married the way they told you to? You know that you getting married is just their way of controlling you right? You can't fall for this. You need to stand your ground and let them know that you can't be pushed around!" Drake said. "If I don't get married, they are just going to tell me that I can't become the king because I refused to get married. I am going to get married. The only way they can control me is if my wife is someone that they can control. I am not going to be that stupid of course. I am going to marry someone they don't know. And someone they can't control for sure!" I said. Camilla seemed like a woman who has a lot of pride and backbone. She would not betray me so easily. Drake nodded his head. He seemed to understand what I was talking about. "That's great then. Do you already have a person in mind?" He asked. "Yes. I already spoke to her about it. So you should be getting prepared for the marriage now!" I said. Since I was gett
Camila's POVA knock on my door jolted me awake. I sat up in bed, looking at my bedside clock, realizing it was fifteen minutes before I was to wake up. The knock came again and I wondered who it was very early this morning. I walked over to the door as I tied my robe. I pulled the door open and I came face to face with Adrian who was staring down at me with crossed arms. "Your Highness…" I bowed my head. "What do you want from me this early morning, sir?" He handed me a black folder and I pulled it open, it was the contract I asked him to draft for us. "I brought the contract to you." He said and I looked up at him in disbelief. "It's 5 am in the Dawn, your highness." I pointed out and he just shrugged. "Are you trying to get me to read it while I'm still sleepy so you can take advantage of me through the contract, and add additional details we didn't agree on?""I'm not asking you to sign it standing on the spot so I guess I am being accused falsely here, young woman." He replied
ADRIAN'S POV"Your majesty, you can't marry that lady." The prime minister said as i sat comfortably on my chair. I looked at him with a raised eye brow."And why can I not marry the woman I love?" I asked him and he looked around to see everyone at the table supporting him with a slight nod. "We can't have a commoner be our queen Your Majesty. It is in the rules of the kingdom…""Then we can just change the rules. Do not forget I am the king. I make the rules and change the rules to fit the benefit of the kingdom and I know Camila is the best queen we can have in this kingdom." I replied. "You can't do this, Adrian. My daughter will benefit your kingdom and the bond between our two kingdoms. Seat of Rossi and Seat of Trace will benefit a lot from each other if this marriage between you and Eliza goes on." King Trace tried to explain to me and I knew well they all just wanted to manipulate my seat of power for his selfish reasons best known to him."Maybe she can be of very good use
ADRIAN'S POVThe preparation of the wedding and coronation was going by very fast and everyone in the palace seemed to be so busy with one thing or the other. I barely saw Camila and Isabella because they were always busy choosing decorations or fitting the wedding dress. I watched as Isabella was glad because I would be getting married to Camila but it made my heart ache knowing it was all fake and an act so I wouldn't get married to Eliza. I still couldn't get her mother out of my heart and just saying her name alone still brought a great ache to my heart. "Your majesty, you have a guest," Drake said, making me turn to look back at the door. "Who is it?" I asked and just then, Xander, my younger brother walked in with his hands perfectly tucked in his pockets. "Ohh, it's him.""Oh come on brother. Do not act like you're not excited to see me." Xander, my younger brother walked over to me, throwing his arm over my shoulders. "I heard my big bro is finally moving on and getting mar
CAMILA'S POV I sat in front of the mirror, looking at the complete makeover I had been given. I never knew I could ever be transformed this way. My hair was beautifully decorated with golds, silvers, and diamonds and I looked like a character straight out of a fantasy novel. Only that this is real. I heard the door close. I turned to see Isabella rush in with her pad in her hands. She wasn't looking and just scribbled away. "Isabella, watch out," I said, just before she tripped over the table and she fell, her pad falling off with its screen smashing into pieces. I rushed over to her, helping her to her feet as tears started to well up in her eyes. She walked over to the smashed pad and the tears rolled down her cheeks. "What's wrong baby? Will Daddy scold you for breaking the pad?" She nodded gently and I wiped the tears rolling down her cheeks. "I will talk to him, okay? He won't scold you. And you have to promise me, no writing while walking." She nodded before pulling me in
