She was given the opportunity to shower in a tiny room down the hall from the torture chamber, with Robin waiting outside of the shower cubicle and no privacy. However, between the seduction of the warm water, and the ability to wash the piss from her skin, Aislen did not care that the other woman could see far more than a stranger should. Her fingertips stung as the soap from the shampoo got into the wounds beneath her nails, and she hissed as she shook them under the spray of the shower.

“He’s a real arsehole, that Sparrow,” she complained to Robin.

“You don’t know what you’re talking about,” Robin replied predictably. “If you understood, you’d say differently.”

“Okay, explain it to me then,” Aislen’s skin along her forearms wore bruises in tracks from his pinchers. Small pains, she reminded herself. It could have been worse. It would be worse in the morning, if she didn’t come up with something in the interim, but the warmth of the water and her exhaustion
