Chapter 11
I woke up trembling quickly searching my mind for Leah.
“Did you see my dream?” I asked not knowing if she would be present for it.
“I did,” she replied her echoed fear filling my head. “What are we supposed to do? I don’t know that we are strong enough to face such a strong pack.”
I was feeling the same, it would be a lot to take on if we went today. On top of being hunted by a ruthless Alpha, I wouldn’t be able to stay here. I would have to tell my family the truth tonight and I had no idea how to do that.
I felt stuck, wanting to know more but fearing what it would take to learn it.
“Where would we go Leah? If we go and Eli learns we are alive, my family and friends won’t be safe with us here. I won't drag them into this.”
“Maybe we could stay with Kent's pack. They might be able to help us.” Leah said her voice holding an edge of delight at the idea of staying near Kent.

It took a long time for me to wrap my head around what I had learned, even longer to finally find the words to speak. The whole time three sets of eyes were on me staring with anticipation. I was a mess on the way back to Kent’s house. I sat in the passenger seat with tears running down my face barely making a noise. I could see the sunlight filling the room even through my closed eyelids. I had no desire to wake up, but daylight was reminding me that the day was waiting. Slowly, I opened my eyes and took in my environment. It was a second before I remembered where I was and finally why. Remembering Kent’s warmth, I looked beside me. Richard and I spent hours going over my school subjects, mostly just giving him an idea where I was in each subject. Unsurprisingly, he seemed well educated in all areas and was a great help. I was surprised when, instead of leading me through the same hidden door towards the endless hall, Kent turned to the wall in the back of the living room. It took a second but right before he reached for it, I saw the same oval outline that I had before. I remembered Kent had told me there were more secret passageways so I figured this was just leading to another unseen section of his house. It didn’t. This door was much more intense that the first. Before sliding open, a number of locks could be heard turning and once it did, thick steel bars could be seen within the foot wide door.
