KARINA POV

As Atticus rounds his desk and approaches me with concern clearly on his face, my control snaps. Tears I have been keeping at bay escape down my face and I begin to sob just as he pulls me against his chest.

"I am sorry. I am sorry I sprang that decision on you. We should have talked about it as equals first," Atticus apologizes with sincerity in his voice, but that only makes me cry harder.

How can he not smell the change in my scent? Logan realized the difference right away. But Atticus seems oblivious to the clear change. How can he not get it? He broke my heart when he told me he didn't want the small pup growing inside of me. I thought he was bringing up having pups because he smelled the change in the air, but I was wrong... or maybe it was his way of telling me he didn't want it. Maybe he does know... No Atticus isn't like that. He is just being thick.

"You don't understand," I sob and his arms only tighten.

Pain and regret are a living pulse within our bond now.
