My heart thundered in my ears as I stared at Reyna and Liam, their arms around each other, their heads bent together. They were talking, and it looked like they were the only people around in that busy street. They were too lost in their own world and they hadn't scented or seen me. I didn't know whether my heart broke about that, or whether I was relieved.

My tongue felt bitter as I stared at them. Shaking my head, I pulled myself out of the acrid feelings. I couldn't envy them for their love. That was not me... was it? I pushed the feeling away, but the darkness was a stubborn master, refusing to leave the pit of my stomach.
