15. Empaths

I wasn't scared of him, but I didn't know... I was scared. Of something. I could feel it in the air. Something was coming. And we should run, but there was nowhere to run.

I shook my head, trying to distract myself.

The night was thick and gloomy around us, and stars blinked on and off. The soggy smell of the wet ground was also very familiar.

I didn't see Ares stopping in front of the pack house, and I almost bumped into him. He grabbed me by my shoulder, steadying me, and my heart missed a beat. It was strange, the effect he had on me.
