No.

No.

No.

Dread engulfed her, spreading through her body like a vicious fire, taking over every muscle and cell in her body leaving her heart rattling in trepidation.

Why the King? Of all the monsters in this world, why the Lycan King? Sweat broke on her forehead as the Mistress straightened up and grabbed Fiona's arm.

"My King, this pet is exactly what you've asked for," the Mistress said in her sweet tone.

"Pet!" The low grumble of the voice had her gulping and chin quivering. She could feel the authority in his voice.

"Kneel," the man who was hidden behind the dark spoke.

Fiona inhaled sharply. So it seems today would be her end. Well, she will not regret dying knowing she gave them a hell of a time. But still, she never deserved this.

"No," She said with all the mustered-up confidence and the King's lips tugged at the corner.

"I'll get her," The King said and the Pet Mistress' eyes lit up as she clasped her hands together in joy.

She motioned at the worker who came forward holding a black fur collar.

Fiona on the other hand looked blanched, tears burned her eyes as she gaped at the darkness in horror. He wasn't supposed to say that. He was supposed to get her killed for disrespecting him.

It was taking too long for her to process things when the worker secured the collar tight around her neck, ensuring that she couldn't slip it off and escape.

Her shackled hands flew up as she tried to free her neck from the collar.

The Pet Mistress grabbed the leash as she yanked Fiona down the stairs and out of the hall. She didn't even realize when the King had walked out. She barely noticed the dark gazes of the audience.

Stepping out the mistress unlocked all the shackles from her as Fiona rubbed her wrists, her gaze bounced around hoping to find an escape but her emerald eyes widened when they fell on the tall man dressed in royal jewels and furs.

She gulped as dread coiled in her heart. She wasn't prepared for this. This wasn't the plan. She was supposed to be sold off to a werewolf, not a freaking Lycan King of all the damned beasts.

How would she survive with a Lycan? No. No. She had to make a run.

"Here, sire." The mistress said forwarding her leash to the King when all of a sudden Fiona grabbed the leash and made a blind dash toward the road.

She barely took three to four steps because of those damned high heels when the Royal guards grabbed her and dragged her back to the King. She winced and struggled wildly but to no avail.

"Let me go, you morons!" She screamed at the top of her lungs.

They only jerked her roughly, she saw the King forward a cheque to the Pet Mistress and she handed Fiona's file to the King. "Please, shop again from here, sire." The pet Mistress said with a slight bow and stepped back while throwing a triumphant smirk at Fiona who was still struggling.

"Let go!" She screamed when all of a sudden the king turned around and her voice died in her throat when her eyes met his calm ones.

His expressions were schooled and she couldn't see what was going on in his head. Why in the world did he buy her? She wasn't the ideal pet then why? Or perhaps the Lycan King was a psycho.

"Let the lady go," The King said and Fiona gasped horrified as she gaped at the King.

Did he just call her lady?

It seemed like she had already passed away.

What was even happening?

The guards instantly let her go. The king looked at one of the guards who came forward holding a long fur coat that looked extremely expensive.

Fiona's eyes widened, even more, when the guard draped that coat on her form and the other guard handed her leash to the King who seized it and he began to walk out of the building.

A cold breeze swept past her, making her shiver.

She was too stunned to understand. She walked behind him quietly. Not that she could do anything. There were a total of ten of his guards around them. They were tall and well-built.

A limousine rolled in as the guard opened the door for the king. He got inside and she had to follow right after him because of the leash.

She took the seat in front of him in the posh-looking car. Gulping the nervousness down her throat she wrapped the coat properly around herself covering her up as she secured the knot at the front.

"Shall I give you a name?" He asked as her eyes snapped towards him. She had heard it was disrespecting to look a Lycan straight in the eyes. They would kill you on the spot but why did this Lycan King seem so calm and relaxed? It was terrifying.

"I already have one," She said, dropping her gaze. Fiona wasn't able to conclude.

She could either disrespect him properly and say her goodbyes to her life or she could stay calm and be a tiny bit submissive to see why did the King buy her? By the looks of it seems he was already aware of how defiant she was.

Fiona could try to know the reason why he bought her and stay calm for now and come up with an escape plan later. Once she’ll gets to the Warrior’s gang she’ll be safe.

Warrior’s gang was created by rebellious humans who won't give in to these monsters and fight for their freedom. They were strong and knew how to fight. And she’ll make sure to join them soon no matter what it takes.

"What's your name then?" He queried.

"Fiona," She said and the King gave a slight nod.

She was pulling at the collar, it was too tight. She couldn't draw a normal breath.

The King leaned closer and she stiffened, he loosened her collar a little before securing the digital lock back and then he relaxed back on his seat.

She was clutching the coat in her fists. "Can I ask you a question?" She asked and King gave her a nod. Due to some absurd reason he seemed to be a lot amused by her.

"Why did you buy me?" She asked. It still felt unbelievable that she was talking to a King who was none other than a Lycan who was rumored to be the most vicious and ruthless creature.

The King seemed happy that she asked. "I bought you as a trial for my sons," He said smoothly.

"I...I don't understand," She said with a parched throat. King passed her a small comforting smile but his words robbed her of her breath.

"Whichever of my sons kills you first would lose the chance to be my successor," He mused and her face ashen.
