Chapter ◑⬤ 02

The night seemed eternal, the darkness took over that place and if you looked out the window, all you could see were trees and more trees. Giant trees everywhere, pine trees with a strong odor in a dark soil, as dark as the sky of that damn place.

As soon as the monster that kidnapped her disappeared from her window, she got to thinking.

Alice did not know many things, but she knew that she was no longer in the mortal realm, in the realm of humans. No.

She was somewhere else, she was in the shadow, in the realm of werewolves; but even though she wasn’t too dumb to understand that, she was there - hanging from the window, stretching her arms towards the first tree that looked close to that damn tower.

"Just a little more..." she said to herself and with a leap of faith, she threw herself towards the wood. The skin of her hands was cruelly torn by the texture of the wood, but not even the burning made her question her actions.

She’d walk out of there.

A leap between the leaves that looked too moist, a scratch here and there, bare hands scraping on the hard bark of the tree as it slipped to the ground - and her freedom seemed a little closer.

Her feet hurt, her hair was a mess, but even though her eyes barely saw a foot in front of her - Alice continued.

It went on and on.

One step after another, even when her skin seemed about to freeze, but there was something the girl had forgotten: in the forest, there are always animals that go out at night to hunt, But if you’re talking about the abandoned forest in werewolf territory... who would these animals be?

Howls could be heard, the sound of trotting in the background, growling, screaming.

Before Alice could think of her options, there were those huge red eyes fixed on her, in the air coming out of her pulsating lungs.

'I will die' was her first thought, but a loud growl arose, a growl that became a roar; sharp claws being stuck to the ground, sharp, yellowish teeth, a fur resembling the ashes that remained in a chimney.

It was like in the human world.

Kalias tore one by one.

Wolves, creatures that Alice would not even know how to name, he tore them apart, he tore them apart and shattered them as if they were just rag dolls.

One crawls from the dark and the girl could feel sharp claws touching her neck.

"SHIT!" Kalias roared and with a single bite, broke the poor creature in half. The blood splashing on the girl’s clothes and face, in her hair, between her fingers.

Alice was paralyzed and now he was looking at her.

He was staring at her.

"Really, how dumb are you?" he asked her, teeth showing, his eyes full of hate, "thought you could survive here? A useless human like you?"

Kalias’s voice in that form seemed even worse, more crude, hoarse, guttural like that of a real animal.

"Get up" he ordered, but Alice’s legs did not move and with a low growl, the wolf became again - a man.

A tall man, white hair, deep eyes and, at the same time, without any life reflecting on his opaque tone.

There was beauty in Kalias, but it certainly wasn’t compatible with his way of acting.

One jump with the girl in his arms, and the dark room was back; Kalias abruptly disposed of Alice on the bedroom floor and with a look of superiority, he stared at her.

"If you try to run away again, I’ll wait until they rip your legs off before interfering," he said coldly, but to Alice, all she could smell was the fresh blood on her body, the feeling of the earth between her fingers and the horror of the scene she had witnessed.

"You’ll kill me..." she said without even realizing it, but as always, Kalias laughed.

"Kill you? What would I gain from it?" he asked and for a second, Alice thought she saw a little twinkle in those opaque eyes. "I need you, Aynur".

A shiver ran down the blach-haired girl´s spine, as if fingers threads touched her skin still alive. It was as if death itself congratulated her and told her that even in her eternal rest she would not be free of that man.
