CHAPTER 7: BETTER THE DEVIL YOU KNOW

It was 6 am at the Raymond household. Rose was the first worker to wake up as usual. She had spent a good part of the night researching Ella but she had come up with nothing suspicious or incriminating. Her best investigative skills did not turn up anything that she could use to make Blake throw out the new girl. She was as white as snow. Rose had resigned herself to the fact that all she had left was to rebuild her relationship with Jason, if she had any chance of retaining her job. That was why she was up so early to bake him some brownies.

As Rose was baking, Dora was getting a head start on her chores. She had cleaned all the common areas and was setting up the dinner table. Her sleep had been cut short this morning by Amanda’s incessant calls. She had managed to get a short break by blocking her calls.
