Chapter 4

"If I had enough power, I would kill you in no time." I laughed mockingly; blood came from my throat whenever I opened my mouth.

This time I angered Clement, his eyes darkening, his thin lips quirking wickedly.

"Then you should pray." Clement pulled out his knife and stabbed it coldly.

I closed my eyes, waiting for the pain and waiting for death. But after a while, I still didn't feel anything; on the contrary, a heavy body pressed down on me.

I opened my eyes, and my whole body stiffened. I looked up at Clement and down at the bloody body guarding me tightly in his large arms.

My father held that knife for me; his throat was ripped open and fresh blood was gushing out. I covered it with my hand, frantically trying to stop the bleeding, but it didn't stop; it still rushed through my arm and fell to the ground.

Helpless, I didn't know what to do when I saw the blood kept flowing.

"Dad, don't die… don't die. I'm sorry; I'll never be stubborn again; I'll listen to you; I won't argue again." I clutched my father's hand with some of my father's warmth against my face. "Father, stop joking; open your eyes and look at me. Didn't you say you were heartbroken to see me cry? Why am I crying in pain now that you still don't wake up to comfort me?"

I keep fooling myself that he's alive, but the truth is always cruel. My father's body was getting colder and colder, and his weak breath had just now disappeared.

My heart ached as if it had been dissected; the blood oozing out made my soul die. I screamed with all the pain. "Father!"

Clement looked at me disdainfully, threw the knife aside, held out his hand, and Albert offered a clean towel. He meticulously wiped each knuckle as if he had just touched something filthy.

"Your father is dead; then it's you." Clement took out another knife. The cold blade was close to my neck, but I felt no fear.

I hate looking at him, defiantly not afraid to die. "Kill me; if you leave me alive, I'll tear you apart later."

Clement smirked, said cruelly. "Then wait for the next life and avenge me."

"Even if I become a devil, I won't leave you alone," I shouted.

I hugged my father tightly and closed my eyes, tears streaming down my cheeks. 'Mother, brother, I have to go with my father now; if you two can get rid of these bastards, then live well and avenge us.'

When I thought my throat was about to burst, a cold voice spoke up. "Stop!"

Clement raised his head, then smiled brightly. "Oh, Vincent, how are things going on your side? Have you caught Edward yet?"

At the mention of my brother, my heart skipped a beat.

And I was suddenly relieved when I heard him speak. "He escaped but was badly injured; I have searched everywhere; even if I turn the Blue River upside down, I will find that rat."

Joy and fear arose in my heart. Glad my brother hasn't been arrested, but scared because he's injured. No matter how severe his wound situation is, every wolf can heal quickly, especially the Alpha wolf, but it still needs a certain amount of time.

When I looked up, my eyes met with a man named Vincent. He and I both froze for a moment; I saw a glint of complexity in his eyes, and so did my reflection.

Elise and I understood well what was happening and where that strange feeling came from. But instead of being happy, we both just felt suffocated.

He was undoubtedly my mate, a bad and ironic thing.

I have thought about the first meeting with my mate; maybe I will rush to hug and kiss him in overwhelming happiness. But now, I just want to stab his heart with a knife and his accomplices.

Vincent is the younger brother of Alpha Darius, the head of Hell Moon. Vincent's reputation was unquestionable; he soon became a living legend in the eyes of many.

Hell Moon is a Pack lying on a mountain with complex terrain and depleted resources. Despite being one of the long-lived Packs, Hell Moon's power soon dwindled, leaving them just an empty shell. But in the last four years, Hell Moon has risen again strongly thanks to a notorious warrior Vincent Charles; under his leadership, Hell Moon's territory is constantly expanding and has never been defeated in any battle. Compared to a few years ago, the current region of Hell Moon has developed more than three times; in the eyes of the people of Hell Moon, Vincent is nothing more than a god for them to worship.

However, along with talent and strength, Vincent is also the most ruthless person. He is a living demon. He is a cursed man; he has no love and no heart. He only knows how to kill, take other people's lives for pleasure, and is willing to destroy anyone who gets in his way.

Vincent's madness and cruelty soon became known everywhere. He is so dictatorial that he does not allow a bird to fly into his territory; even if he encounters a suspicious person near the border, he brutally executes him.

The existence of the wolf race stretched over the years, roughly for more than a hundred years, but there were only five werewolves known as demons. It's the title for the most brutal and bloodthirsty wolves in history, and there's nothing more honorable than having my mate top that list.

"A monster!" I mumbled.

Vincent looked down at me, his eyes as cold as Antarctic ice. Surely like me, he wasn't happy to be paired with me either. And soon, I need to refuse this terrible fate.

Facing Vincent's deep black eyes, I suddenly trembled for no reason. Am I afraid of him? It's ironic.

But I can't deny the strong aura from him that makes me shiver. His composure was scarier than the monstrous smiles or all of Clement's threats.

Vincent's forehead appeared slightly wrinkled; his mind was unpredictable, and no one knew what he was thinking.

The darkness became thick, and the cold wind cut me into pieces like a knife.

My body trembled, and I felt the wound on my back bleed again. As I reached my absolute limit, my eyes darkened; I tried to open my mouth to breathe; I needed to stay awake and not collapse now. But it all became meaningless; my body couldn't take it anymore. My eyelids were heavy and slowly closing, everything fell into darkness, and I felt my body fall.

Before I was completely unconscious, I made a blood oath to the moon goddess. 'I will take revenge at all costs. How much blood and tears they took from us today, I will pay them back. I put them through pain and humiliation, making them live worse than death.'
