“I would like to introduce you all to the person who will be overseeing this project, our new project manager, Jenna Anderson.” Being followed by the students and teachers clapping their hands, which was then followed by the click-clacking sound of high heels on wooden floors, and my eyes widened as my heart started the pound with surprise and anticipation at what my eyes were seeing next. Long, lean legs, a perfect ass wrapped up in a black pencil skirt. A blouse that hugged every perfect curve. Blonde hair that was right now up in a high ponytail instead of loose like it had been on New Year’s Eve. I couldn’t help but smile widely, believing that fate had intertwined our paths once again. The woman who had both haunted my dreams and intrigued me deeply was now in a project at my very own workplace. And even better, right now I also knew her name. Jenna Anderson. And now, I was happy to know that my parents did not raise a quitter in their firstborn son, because from the second I saw her, I knew that I would chase her, win her over, and make her mine, forever.

Good story so far and different from most werewolf stories. There are some inconsistencies with geography of the US and some issues with the order of the seasons, when holidays fall calendar-wise and length of time that passes in regard to the main relationship.

Chapter 1
Adam's P.O.V. I slowly opened my eyes, wincing at the intrusive rays of sunlight that seeped through the half-closed blinds, indicating that it was already much later than I would wake up on a normal day. My head throbbed with a relentless rhythm, and my parched throat begged for some relief in the form of water or anything liquid. I groaned and shifted on the familiar, worn-out coach that was standing in the living room, trying to piece together the fragmented memories from the previous night’s New Year’s Eve party. As the haze slowly lifted, I began to recall the sounds of laughter, the clinking of glasses, and the joyful chaos that had filled the bar last night during the celebration for the beginning of a new year. Shit, I had been way too drunk for my own good last night. Lord only knew what kind of trouble I had been in… trouble I probably wouldn’t even remember right now. I groaned, looking around the room of the house that I called my home. It was the same house that I had gr

Chapter 2
Adam’s P.O.V. I was driving my rusty old red truck through Fairview, the name of the picturesque small town that we lived in our entire lives. It was nestled between a breathtaking harbor and majestic mountains in the middle of America. With its stunning natural surroundings, Fairview offered its residents and visitors a tranquil and idyllic setting. The town’s geography was a defining feature, as it was rare to find a place that combined the beauty of a harbor and the grandeur of mountains so seamlessly. And I always wondered if that was one of the reasons why my grandparents had decided to call this place home all those years ago when they had moved here. The harbor served as a bustling hub of activity, with fishing boats and sailboats dotting the serene waters. The salty scent of the sea filled the air, and seagulls could be heard overhead as they swooped and glided along the shoreline. The harbor not only provided a livelihood for local fishermen and restaurants but also invited

Adam’s P.O.V. I stepped into the hallway of the quaint, weathered house that belonged to my grandmother, a place that held countless memories from my own childhood. Back in the day, I hadn’t known death in my life. When Pops was still alive, along with both of my parents. “Well, it’s always nice to have you here, my boy. I’ve been waiting for you to bring some excitement into this old and smelly house.” She smiled, looking around as if the walls could talk. I chuckled, happy to see my grandmother. “Well, I couldn’t miss the chance to start the new year without your infectious energy, now could I?” I asked her as she patted my cheek affectionately before we walked into the living room. “Well, you certainly know how to charm an old lady. Now, sit down and tell me all about your adventures at the bar last night.” She grinned, making me roll my eyes at her. “Gran, it’s not even noon…” I sighed, wondering who the hell had already spilled the beans on her. “And this is still a small to

Jenna’s P.O.V. There are moments in your life that seem to shape us and turn us into the person that we are today. I always used to believe that every person starts out their life as a blank canvas, and moments and circumstances happening to us throughout our lives, shape us into our unique personalities. There are good memories and moments you keep going back to, reliving them over and over again. And then, there are other moments that we just want to forget about more than anything. For me, one of those moments that I wanted to forget with a passion, was high school. I hated high school, no, scratch that… I loathed high school! And yet, ever since my plane landed, my mind had been pulling me back to those horrible days almost constantly. I sighed, sitting alone in my hotel room, my gaze fixed on the worn carpet beneath my bare feet. The flickering fluorescent light cast a pale glow, illuminating the space in a sterile, impersonal manner like most hotel rooms would do. Memories of m

Jenna’s P.O.V. “Hey, Jenna! To what do I owe the pleasure of this call so early in the morning? Did you discover a secret treasure map or find a talking parrot down by that cute little harbor in that even cuter Hallmark town of yours?” I chuckled at Jules’ words, feeling the tension in my shoulders ease already. “If only my life was that exciting! I’ve just had a mind-boggling conversation with the lawyer handling my Uncle Ben’s will. You won’t believe what he just told me.” I sighed, stepping inside the hotel and walking straight towards the elevators that would take me to the right floor. “Do tell, my friend! I’m all ears and ready for the grand reveal.” Jules answered me, and by the way her voice was sounding, I could have sworn she was eating something at the other end of the phone. “Well. He basically left me everything he owned. His house, but also his construction business. And it even turns out that my dear uncle wanted to play a final prank on me from beyond the grave, sin

Jenna’s P.O.V. on New Year’s Eve.Adam was standing at the bar, his brown hair looking tousled and sexy, and a slight stubble adorning his jawline. Memories flooded back immediately, reminding me of the massive crush I had harbored throughout high school for this guy. He had been my unrequited love, the boy who unknowingly had held my heart in his hands. Until the day when he had broken it completely, and my love for him had slowly transformed into hate.At least... that was what I was trying to convince myself of, still. Because of the way that my heart had skipped a beat when I had seen him again after twelve years... that most definitely wasn't hate that I felt just now. Hate doesn't make you want to crawl on top of the table and scream 'Just take me, I'm yours'... “Jenna, is everything OK?” Renee asked me, probably feeling my sudden change in demeanor as she followed my gaze. My eyes stayed locked with Adam’s brown ones across the crowded room.“It’s Adam Miller, Renee…” I gasped

Chapter 7
Seeing Adam once again after twelve years, I still found it hard to believe that he still looked like a real-life model. And I felt my body once again heating up with old flames I knew only he would be able to extinguish. And it wasn’t just his broad shoulders or the dimple on his right cheek when he grinned playfully, it wasn’t the way he smelled of cologne mixed with his personal male scent. For me, it was his eyes. It had always been his eyes. The way they seemed to stare into my soul, those deep dark browns. And as I now looked up and looked into them again, they were just as transfixing as all those years ago.Yup, I’m done foronce again…Darn, you, Jenna! What is it with this man that you can’t seem to shake off?  “You know, Jenna. If you were a vegetable, you’d be a cute cumber.” Adam told me with a mischievous smile.“Really

Jenna’s P.O.V. in 2010“Are you ready?” Renee asked me, to which I groaned.“I can’t believe you made me come here in the first place.” I sighed, looking out of my car to the house where the party was being held. A party that the popular cheerleader Rachel had organized. Sure, it had just been the news that had spread through the entire school, basically telling everyone to come, I just knew that once Rachel would see me in person, she would kick me out of her house. The girl was awful and a bully. I hadn’t even wanted to come here, that was until Renee had begged me to come along with her, and since I still owed her one, here I was, forced to go to a party I didn’t want to attend in the first place. “It will be fine. Besides, every handsome boy will be here.” She grinned widely at me.“Handsome boys that don’t even talk to us.” I threw back at her. To which Renee

Jenna’s P.O.V. in 2010 “I’ve seen him around in school.” I nodded in response because I had. I just didn’t get the goosebumps and fluttering butterflies in my stomach like I would get from Adam.“He’s an asshole though. He has his whole life figured out for him already.” Adam told me, a bit of anger in his voice as he spoke about his younger brother.“While I don’t even know what to do with my life. I mean, if I don’t get a scholarship to play rugby somewhere, I wouldn’t know what to do with my life, honestly. I mean, my backup plan is to join the army, but my mom doesn’t want to hear about any of that. But I mean… you know moms.” He laughed, to which I pressed my lips into a thin line. No… I don’tI don’t know ‘moms’Mine left me at the front door of my uncle’s house

Chapter 10
Adam’s P.O.V.Shit…That had been the initial thought that went through my head. But let’s step back a couple of minutes. My day had initially gone by pretty normal as of yet. Christmas break was over and we were stepping back into reality, which consisted of me working during the day and playing dad once the High school alarm would signal the end of my working day. And today, the first day back in school after Christmas break, we were all -teachers and students- expected to gather in the school’s auditorium for the principal’s New Year’s speech. I had been patiently awaiting the principal’s speech about the school’s upcoming projects this year. But once the man had started to speak, my mind started to wander, still being captivated by blurry memories of the gorgeous woman I had met at the New Year’s Eve party. Still trying to wrap my mind around the ‘why’ I had ended up with wine in my
