Raymond Sterling had always been known as a jovial and sociable man, effortlessly charming those around him with his infectious laughter and warm personality. But his life took an abrupt and heartbreaking turn when he lost his beloved wife and young child in a devastating car accident. The tragedy shattered his world, leaving him emotionally scarred and forever changed.

It was a beautiful Saturday morning, the sun's gentle rays streamed through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room. Raymond woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside his window. He turned to his side, where his wife, Emily, lay peacefully asleep. Their young daughter, Lily, was curled up beside her, clutching her favorite stuffed animal.

Raymond leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on Emily's forehead. "Good morning, my love," he whispered, his voice filled with affection.

Emily stirred, slowly opening her eyes and offering him a sleepy smile. "Good morning, Raymond," she replied, her voice soft and filled with warmth. "What time is it?"

Raymond glanced at the clock on the bedside table. "It's just past 7:00 am," he answered. "We still have some time before we need to get ready."

Emily stretched her arms and sat up, gently ruffling Lily's hair. "Do you have any plans for today?" she asked, her voice laced with curiosity.

Raymond smiled and wrapped his arm around Emily's waist, pulling her closer. "I was thinking of taking you and Lily to the park," he said. "It's such a beautiful day, and I want to spend it with my two favorite girls."

Emily's eyes lit up, mirroring the excitement in Lily's face as she woke up. "That sounds lovely," Emily replied, her voice filled with anticipation. "We can have a picnic and enjoy the sunshine."

…..

As Raymond and his family embarked on their journey to the picnic, the warm rays of the sun illuminated the picturesque surroundings. The excitement of their outing filled the car as they cruised down the road.

He glanced at his wife, Emily, who sat beside him, and their young daughter, Lily, in the backseat. A smile played on his lips as he admired their happiness and the anticipation in Lily's eyes.

Just then, his phone buzzed, indicating an incoming call. Curiosity piqued, he glanced at the screen and noticed it was his lawyer calling. Unsure of the urgency, Raymond decided to answer, hoping it wouldn't take his attention away for too long.

"Hello? This is Raymond," he said as he picked up.

"Raymond, I apologize for calling at such a time, but I have some urgent news to share with you regarding the Sterling empire." with a concerned tone his lawyer replied.

"Now? Can't it wait? We're on our way to the picnic with my family." Raymond was surprised at the urgency of his tone.

"I'm afraid it cannot wait, Raymond. I just received a copy of your uncles' revised will. It states that the entire Sterling empire will be willed to their only child, your cousin Ethan, but with one condition." His lawyer insistent

Raymond's grip on the steering wheel tightened as his heart sank. The news he dreaded hearing was now unfolding before him.

"What condition? What does it say?" Raymond asked, with anxiety in his voice

"According to the will, for him to inherit the Sterling empire, he must be married and remain married for at least two years. Otherwise, everything will be passed to you, but if he does marry and keep to the conditions, you will be his second in command, which means you will continue to work under him" the lawyer answered.

Raymond's thoughts raced, his mind filled with a mixture of shock, disappointment, and a tinge of desperation.

Raymond, feeling frustrated, asked "Married, Two years? But I never knew about this condition! My whole life's work... It's all in jeopardy now."

His lawyer, feeling sympathetic to his plight, said, "I understand your concern, Raymond. It seems your uncle wanted to ensure stability and continuity in the family empire. But remember, he has to be married before 30, so for now you are still in charge till he meets all conditions. I'm truly sorry for the timing and the impact this news has on you."

Raymond glanced at his wife, Emily, who looked at him with a mixture of concern and understanding. The weight of the situation pressed heavily upon him.

With a trembling voice Raymond answered, "Thank you for informing me, but please understand that this is not the best time. I have to focus on my family right now."

"Of course, Raymond. I apologize once again for interrupting your day. Take the time you need, and when you're ready, we can discuss this further." His lawyer said with all sincerity

Raymond ended the call, feeling a mixture of disbelief and uncertainty. The news of his potential loss weighed heavily on his mind, leaving him distracted and emotionally vulnerable.

Emily became concerned and asked, "What happened, Raymond? You seem so shaken."

"It's... It's nothing, Emily. Just some unexpected news regarding the family's inheritance. I'll explain later. Let's focus on enjoying the day with Lily." He answered as gently as he could.

But as they continued down the road, Raymond's mind couldn't help but wonder, the weight of his newfound responsibilities and the potential loss of the Sterling empire weighing heavily upon his heart. The joy and anticipation that once filled the car had now been replaced by a sense of uncertainty.

At that moment, Raymond failed to notice an oncoming vehicle that veered into their lane. The screeching of tires filled the air as their cars collided, causing a devastating impact.

Emily screams "Raymond! Look out!"

Raymond panicked as he shouted "No! Hold on, everyone!"

The sound of shattering glass and twisted metal filled the air as the accident unfolded. The world seemed to come crashing down in an instant.

Moments later, the scene was filled with the sounds of emergency sirens and concerned voices as help arrived.

Raymond, dazed by what just happened shouted "Emily? Lily? Are you both okay? Please, say something."

But there was no response. Silence enveloped the wreckage as the gravity of the situation sank in.

Raymond whispered, as he was filled with grief "No... No, this can't be happening. Emily... Lily... I'm so sorry."

The morning that had started with excitement and anticipation had turned into an unimaginable tragedy, forever altering Raymond's life and leaving him shattered in grief.
