Leena’s POV
This was the only option I had left.
I exhaled heavily before pushing the door open with my hand on the doorknob.
As the gentleman saw him, he sighed and concentrated on what he was doing with his laptop.
“Sir….” I lowered my face.
“You are here again, how can I help you this time?” He snorted, looking displeased.
“I thought you saw my message last night.” I began but he didn’t respond to me. “Well, I’m here to ask for a loan. I promise to pay back before the deadline.” I said impatiently and he smirked in mockery before standing from his seat.
“Leena, I know how I forced you last time before I could get my money back. The company almost fired me.” He grumbled, approaching me. I stepped backward.
“Something came up last night which I explained to you,” I mumbled with a shaking voice.
“And you are saying that thing won’t come up again?” He raised a scornful brow and I swallowed hard.
“Mr. Mike, it’s just $500,000.” I spilled bluntly as his action was beginning to get me annoyed.
“Just $500,000?” He laughed, turning his back on me. “Then go get it somewhere else.” He sighed and I quickly walked over to him.
My hands were holding his legs as I knelt, staring at him with my weak sad eyes.
“Please, I really need your help. This time, a life and someone’s future depends on him.” I begged desperately and he gave me a long look without saying a word.
Inwardly, I prayed fervently that he would grant me a second chance or help me. I was a broken slave in distress.
“I…” His eyes became cold and anxious as he looked through the transparent part of his door. I followed his eyes but ended up seeing a silhouette that walked away.
I returned my gaze. “Mr. Mike.” I shook his legs.
“Just this last time, I will help you.” He said after a deep sigh and I exhaled in relief.
“Thank you very very much, sir.” My voice pervaded excitement and happiness.
“But…” He began but fell silent.
“But, what?” I raised an anxious brow.
“If you don’t pay before this month ends, you must sleep with me.” He spilled bluntly, staring into my restless eyes.
“What?” I gasped. “I can accept to pay 25% in return and not to pay with my body!” I refused strongly.
“Does this mean you don’t want the money?” He raised a scornful brow, looking quite intimidating. He knew he had gotten me trapped.
No matter how I tried to clean my eyes, they were still red and swollen. I cried my heart out because he was my only hope.
“Do you have to go around downgrading my reputation?” I held the handrail, attempting to go upstairs when his statement stopped me.
“What?” I faced him, giving him a disgusted look.
“You heard me vividly. Why did you visit the loan sharks?” He smirked. “I even heard you were on the ground, wailing like a rejected prostitute.” He yapped before I could say a word.
“I won’t let you taint my reputation or insult me in my face!” I warned him.
“Do you have any dignity left?” He rolled his eyes. “I’m your husband, Leena. You should ask me for help rather than begging strangers!” He sounded annoyed and angry.
I smirked, darting a cold look at him. “Point of correction, you are my ‘contracted’ ‘fake’ husband and you have no right to trample on my private life,” I warned him seriously.
“But I want to help you, can’t you trust me and rely on me? That’s the reason you married me, wasn’t it?” He raised a brow.
“I married you for my family and never for my sake. Besides, I can never rely on a man who still toys around women. I don’t even know when you might dump me.” I lashed at his face and he fell silent.
There was a brief pause.
“So, do not ask for my needs or help me because I don’t need it. As I have said earlier, let’s mind each other’s business.” I said curtly.
“Really?” I didn’t wait to answer his question as I stormed back to my room.
Before going to bed, I took out my phone and sent him a message.
“[I’m up for it. Send me the money.]”
It didn’t take up to three minutes since I sent the message and my account was credited with $500,000. I had a mix of bitter-sweet feelings as I fell on the bed, closing my eyes.
The following evening, I woke up to the noise coming from downstairs. I had been so stressed that I hadn't been able to have a good sleep and just when I wanted my peace, something was cooking downstairs.
I walked downstairs in annoyance.
“Can you turn down the ….?” I stopped talking, stunned at a spot when I saw James, my so-called fake husband f*cking a stranger on our armchair and the other was suckling his nipple.
“What is going on here?” I yelled in anger and disgust, and he didn’t stop. He used his hands to claim the stranger’s ass. I looked at him in ultimate disbelief.
“James? What is this?” I questioned him again.
“Jamie, is she another whore?” They laughed and she faced me. “C’mon, come and join the party. He has new styles.” She gushed.
I shook my head continually. Was this the man my dear sister was madly in love with and wanted me to divorce?
This was enough reason to divorce him as he was doing it in my face, without RESPECT!
“James! I hate you!” I squealed in anger, for the fact that he screwed the woman hard and ignored me.
“Wanna join?” That was the next annoying statement that escaped from his mouth and I was taken aback.
“What?” I curled my lips, my eyes already turning red.
“I know this is all a contract but can you have respect for me?” I made a comeback, “Why do you have to bring ladies to the house and have sex in my presence? Am I that of a fool to you?” I yelled at his face and he pulled his cock from her.
I exhaled, feeling relieved that he had understood me but it was the opposite. The other lady quickly took his cock into her mouth and suckle it while moaning. He grunted, closing his eyes briefly.
“This is insane! You are worse than a man, James!” I hissed.
“Mind your business, don’t interrupt me.” He furrowed a brow, staring at me.
“What? Is that all you have to say to me?”
Leena’s POV“Leena, Leena..!” He tried to get a hold of me but I quickly walked out of the living room. The ladies he wasted himself last night were still lying drowsily on the armchair and ground.“Please, let me explain myself.” He grabbed my hand.“Explain yourself? Why?” I scoffed, looking at him with disinterest.“What happened last night? I’m really sorry.” He lowered his head, feeling guilty and I smirked.“You have nothing to apologize for, Mr. James. We already made ourselves clear.” I spilled bluntly.“Someone spiked my drink last night, that was why I brought them home. I had no idea that I was home with them…” He paused. “Checking the CCTV camera, I’m dimwitted towards my action.” He said dolefully.“You know you are good at playing this game. But you owe me no apology and I don’t believe you. Live your life as you please and don’t disturb me.” I shunned him.“Trust me, Leena.” He didn’t let me go and I turned my back on him. “Yeah, I’m a cheating husband but after our wed
Leena’s POV“I asked you a question, Leena. What did you say?” He turned, facing me and I cleared my throat awkwardly.“I…I didn't say anything. Honestly.” I lied with certainty and he smirked.Inwardly, I felt he heard what I said because it was somewhat loud.He sighed softly and narrowed his eyes back to the mall attendant.“What are you waiting for? Package the shoe for my wife.” The sound of his last words ‘my wife’ caused my heart to shiver.“You don't have to do this.” He ignored me as we walked to the cashier point. All eyes were on me. They never believed that I was married to a rich handsome man. Besides, my dressing was way out of his league. He leaned on the counter, giving me a sexy stare as he flirtatiously winked. He was making things hard for me on my own end as my cheeks were burning hot.“Do you want anything else, sweetie?” He curled his lips.Oh goodness, he was truly a born player.I swallowed hard, shaking my head.“No, I'm fine. This already is too much.”Sudden
Leena's POV“Doctor, I got your call.” I ran into the hospital like one whose world was about to crumble. The doctor lifted his gaze and returned it to the file he was reading.“You are here.” He grumbled.“My apologies, I left my phone on silent all through the night. “ I began.“I came here as soon as I saw the missed calls. Is everything okay?” I rambled with words impatiently and he sighed heavily.“Mrs. Leena, it's about your brother.” He said and my gaze became intent and anxiety lingering in them.“What about him?” I asked.“He hasn't been responding to treatment since yesterday, the first and second surgery we did wasn't successful. We tried to suppress his bleeding but his condition isn't good. And you know you haven't paid any money in yet, we might close the case.” After he calmly explained to me, his voice grew cold.“Please bear with me, Doctor. I'm supposed to make another payment but funds aren't forthcoming.” I began dolefully.“This is not my hospital, Leena. I only a
Leena's POV“James, how about you go ahead while I finish my business with him.” I suggested, curling my lips.“And you think I will foolishly leave you with another man?” He snorted in annoyance, making me astonished.“But… this has nothing to do with you.” I stuttered, trying to remind him.“It seems you have forgotten that you're my wife.” He walked over to me and grabbed my waist, my neck bone straightened as his touch sent sharp jolts of shivers up my spine.I tried to hide my flustered cheeks.“Young man, what does my wife owe you?” He asked Mike seriously and Mike rubbed his chin.I tried to signal him not to say a word but unlike anyone, Mike loved money. He knew I might not be able to pay him immediately but seeing how influential my husband was and the kind of building we are living in, it was easier and faster for him to get his money back with enough interest.“You see… the thing is… your wife here is owing me the sum of $500,000 making it a total of $650,000 including int
James POV“You did the same thing again, didn't you?” Harry, my personal assistant said as soon as I stepped into my penthouse.“Why? Is it bad?” I raised a brow, turning the wine into the glass.“Well, she might be getting it all wrong again. I mean, no one will believe that video calls are fake. I doubted it the first time you showed it to me.” He shrugged.“Let her think whatever it is but I don't want her to rely on me first nor do I want any vulnerability.” I informed him coldly.“Boss, Miss. Leena needs to know who you really are, and your true nature so she wouldn't get the wrong details about you.” He said dolefully.“Harry, are you in love with Leena or something?” I intentionally tried to tease him, curling my lips.“Of… of course not, boss.” He rattled out, stuttering and I laughed.“I'm only concerned about her. Right now, she thinks you're a playboy.” He frowned.“Do I look like I care?” I drank from the glass, nodding my head as I walked to my study room.“Back to busine
Leena's POV“James, there are some things that doesn't need to be spoken, you know that right?” I raised a brow, staring at him.“True but I have to explain what happened earlier.” He insisted while sitting down on the dining chair.“I'm not interested.” I said bluntly and he looked disappointed and sad.“What?...w… why?” He stuttered nervously, staring at me.No doubt he was scared because of the way I would have reacted after seeing his video call.“Have you forgotten we didn't marry out of love?” I raised a brow, staring at him and he swallowed hard on nothing, while staring at me.It was high time I got used to it and also knew my position in this relationship. It wasn't only him that had the right to remind me of our contractual agreement.Besides, I didn't want to get my hopes up in his life as he didn't look like one who was willing or ready to settle.“Leena.” He trailed off, attempting to touch my hand but I pulled it away.“As much as it's a contract marriage, I didn't have
Leena's POV“Yes, I do.” The word left my lips fluently and to back it up, I gave him a deep kiss which he impatiently retaliated, kissing me passionately. As the kiss grew intense and we tore each other's clothes away, I squeezed the duvet and licked my lips hungrily.“Wake up, sleepy head!” I heard a familiar voice, sounding so alluring in my head.Wait! It was a dream? Or not?Which part was a dream?I gradually opened my eyes and found myself in the master bedroom, James was before me, holding a tray containing mouth-watery breakfast.Toasted bread, scrambled eggs, sliced fruits of Apples, cucumbers, and watermelon, a glass of hangover drink and coffee.Maybe not everything was a dream.I stumbled out of bed.“Give me a sec.” I said, rushing into the bathroom.I washed my face and arranged my hair so as not to look like a morning demon before returning to the room.He was still there, waiting for me with a broad smile on his face.“What happened last night?” I asked him calmly, si
Leena's POV“Hey, are you okay?” He broke the awkward silence in the car and I nodded my head nervously.“Yeah, I think I'm.” I muttered.“The students looked surprised to see me… did you happen to check about me online?” He wiggled his brows and I chuckled.“You're really one mysterious person, James. Which should I believe? A crippled or a rich Billionaire?” I questioned, rubbing my chin.“About the crippled stuff, that's the only way for my stepfamily to get at me. It's fake, you know.” He sighed.“And the rich billionaire, do you want me to believe that?” I asked calmly, raising a brow.“Of course. If it was a lie, your course mates would have suspected it. I'm quite popular.” He bragged, tossing his hair to the side which gave him a charming look.“You should start trusting your husband.” He added.“So, which companies do you own or work for? And why haven't you told me anything about it until today?” I gave him a suspicious look and he laughed shortly.“About that… you will have
