26 Dealing with mother
When Riviera gets home, her mother is in the kitchen waiting for her.
"Riviera, where have you been? School was out there hours ago. Why are you just coming home?" Mary-Kate asks.
Riviera averts her eyes to see what Justina had prepared for dinner.
"Look at me when I'm talking to you. I was worried. I don't think you understand how serious this place is.'' Mary-Kate adds.
"Sorry, I just went for a run mom." Riviera responds.
"Can you not do this for a while? There were a few attacks this morning until the Alpha figures things out. I don't want you running around unsupervised or unauthorised." Mary-Kate tells her.
Riviera gives a tight smile. "ok, can I eat now?"
Mary-Kate sigh, "you are a big girl Riviera, you have to start taking responsibility for your actions."
Riviera ignores her mother's words as she picks at her dinner.
